finally tied on my shoes. tried a new park. the trail is also a mountain bike trail which is nice. not super easy but not super hard. pretty flat, connects with the county trail system. near a river so speed demon gets her water time. it was humid. hot. ran into some people. people really liked speed demon. met a few dogs.…

don't give up hope. i see minpins, schipperkes, pomeranians, dachshunds at my canicross races. i've had corgi and border terrier fosters who loved to run. plus it's fun to see their tiny feet go

no fall planting. got one tomato. i've got a few peppers ripening and a few more tomatoes. i had green beans and blackberries. wildlife got those not a plant but i do like my birds and refilled my bird feeder and set up a suet feeder

well life got in the way and both monday and tuesday i was unable to run  but i have a few rest days and this is just easy runs. so i'm hoping to take those rest days and go slow with make up runs. another reason i need to get my hypersomnia under control. 4am runs would make sure i could get my runs in like i'm…

Took Speed Demon and Twyla to Harrington State Park. no official distance or time. I wasn't sure how Twyla would do. she did alright. estimate is 5 miles in a little over an hour. the dogs like the quarry, did not like Lake Michigan. i felt hot but strong. nicely wooded. pretty flat. it got a little busy. Twyla followed…

@quilteryoyo such a cute puppy. i fostered a couch potato husky. i enjoy them but like malamutes-little more chill...but only a little @Contrary_MaryM lol. totally getting a look. i usually pass people at the end. seeing the finish line helps me find that little bit that i didn't think i had. @PastorVincent i felt like he…

i just stumbled across it when i was reading an article and noticed they had training plans linky link

got a new running plan. it doesn't use intervals too much and focus on hills and time on the feet. the end goal is to be able to do a 50k. there are a few still on the calendar about the time i'll be done with the plan. we'll see how it goes. starts monday

@quilteryoyo Happy Belated Birthday! hope you had a great day

in my circle of friends, we lose people pretty frequently. i almost lost my stepdaughter to suicide. i've been there. it's a wonderful cause. I'll be doing the Ethan's Run Against Addiction. i run for my husband and friends. it's gone virtual. hopefully, i'll be running with my husband's sponsor and the parents of a child…

they had a virtual event. i did it. mostly on accident. it was too hot to keep my shirt on but i credit her for letting me comfortable enough to take off my shirt. i have buffs from the group.

@skippygirlsmom i haven't actually used it. it was a floor model i got from Menards. but i like it. it's pretty sturdy.

After such a poor showing at the race, i've renewed urge to run. i don't think long races are going to happen in summer and fall because i don't do well with the heat. but the more i run in the heat, the stronger runner i can be. i can do cold, rain, snow, but heat and humidity blech so with the renewed desire to train, i…

@HonuNui i would totally take her to hawaii. if i get updates and visitation rights :) thanks everyone, i was midflare. i got a medication to add to my regimen but ugh it still is not my favorite life experience.

race report: ugh. i had my alarm set for 5am. woke up. no issues. then i blinked and my "get out the door now" alarm went off. so i was running behind. thank goodness i had packed the day before. got there as the runners were leaving the starting line. got on the trails. missed the update on the trails (which was fine…

oh Yeti is at it again. i think i'll do it again. Might be the distraction i need as this whole BIL thing evolves

i see a dnf in my future. the 50k i haven't trained like i should because of the heat and depression. we were supposed to have rain but no rain now. about 350ft of elevation per 4.5mi loop. and i am supposed to keep a 17min/mile pace. it's going to be rough. but your not an ultra runner till you get a few dnfs under your…
