I'd be more keen on the meditaton lol tennis ball torture @eleanorhawkins

we went out for a run. sophie was more reactive. but still did very well. it was slippery. not everything was cleared. also my garmin cheated me on distance.
-
@shanaber it was a lot of work. i'm still exhausted. the dogs don't mind. except sometimes sophie the bassett mix gets lost in a snowdrift.
-
consistency is key :)
-
@summerskier your body is just a bit tired from yesterday. you'll be able to be more consistent as you continue to run
-
@quilteryoyo it worked for about 20 min. then she had zoomies in the backyard

i bought a snowblower after shoveling 3x and 1 more time to clear my driveway apron of 3+ft of snow. which means i really don't have an excuse not to run. because i won't be using all my energy shovelling so the goal is to stick to the time expectations of the coach's running plan

hi all popping in and hugs for all in need. been kinda running. did get a good run in with my troublemaker sophie. today, i hope to take speed demon and her out. we did 4 total with a little cool down hike after. sophie is human and dog aggressive. an escape artist, be it crate or yard. redecorator. scary smart. very…

missed a couple of runs because foster dog had a cold and was having a hard time. lots of a snuggles. she's still coughing but speed demon and I got out for a couple of miles. legs weren't very happy. but speed demon was all about the run. we had a dog "charge" us. he only got mad when Speed Demon ignored him.

Monthly question? 1) Dog, cat, fish, reptile or petless? Any favorites? Obviously, I'm a dog person. I also have a bearded dragon 2) Can you hold a toot in? definitely. 3) Did you do anything nice/outside of yourself today? does making coffee count? 4) Do you have a monthly question? nope

i have garmin too. vivoactive 3. it was considered accurate enough for my doctors to use it for data with my sleep study. i like it. if you want a longer battery life, i know a lot of ultra runners use Coros

I hope it's an uneventful surgery and a quick and full recovery @quilteryoyo

we went out for 2 miles, it was supposed to be 4 but coach said getting out is more important. it wasn't too bad. my legs were not thrilled. i've lost so much speed. i was never fast to begin with but i used to be able to do 2 miles in the ten min range. if i lost it in under a year, does that mean i can get it back in a…

oh @skippysmom that's tough news overslept and didn't get a run in. hope for a couple by the end of the day

@dreamer12151 I foster thru Rescue Gang. We have the potentials come meet the dog and bring their dog(s) to see if they get along. depending on how far away they are, we do a meet or virtual meet. fees are usually between 300 and 500. dog has rabies, microchip, and other vaccinations.

i run faster with my dog. but we run canicross. so she pulls me(controlled pulling). running is a job so no sniffing. speed demon loves it. walks are for sniffing. i was thinking of seeing how candy does with running. she walks pretty well in the yard with no distractions. but she's pretty low key, so walks and hikes might…

since we had snow, i had to shovel instead of run. but i did get one in yesterday. it wasn't quite what coach had planned but i did the gist of it. it was supposed to be 2 sustained 20 min runs with a 5 min walk between, but due to ice and uncleared sidewalks, it was more of a fartlek run. it was a beautiful day for a run.…

welcome new folks  good lord, @skippysmom that sounds scary.

I was supposed to run last night but my temp dropped so i stayed inside. ran this morning with minimal groaning. I thought i went faster than i did but it was a nice run. maybe i did because i was in workout mode and that doesn't autopause and we had stoplights and potty breaks. it was cold. but not that bad for 14f
-
someone suggested this brand on fb and i have 2. they fit like brooks juno. and i find it a bit more comfortable. i have this one and it has minimal bounce. about the same as my juno
-
Oh first page, again my goal is to follow my coach's plan

@martaindale i believe the bonk run is to help our bodies "learn" to continue going after we've reached low glycogen level. i didn't do this one because my hip was strained but i probably wouldn't have anyways. i don't think the science really supports training this way. but i remember that in the Prefontaine movie one of…

@katharmonic that sounds good. i hope to make some ginger pear jam and maybe some coffee syrup to use as gifts. i missed yesterday's run. and i was planning on running this morning. but it was thundering. speed demon doesn't do thunder. so we didn't go. which is good because there was a robbery/shooting where we would have…

i've been running, kinda. walked my 5k on thurs faster than the last one. didn't do yoga since i was doing 2 hours on saturday with my students. when i got home from classes, i found something had gotten strained. i think it was actually when i coughed in a pose. so i took saturday and sunday off. today's challenge was to…

@noblsheep that is a beautiful ceremony @quilteryoyo hugs to you and yours.
-
@Teresa502 at the end of the email it said "If 5 mile progression is too much, Try 3 miles." so i did :)
-
last night, i did a progressive 5k. and i managed each mile to be faster than the last. which was easy for the first mile. i was trying to use Trail Toes on all the areas with chafing. lots of stops. lots of dropping of pants and applying. i think i have some chafing but i think some of it is behcets and the sores that…

@skippysmom it just hurts, she's a really sweet dog. yes the spikes go over. i had some bad luck with yaktrax but these stayed on extremely well.

I'm sorry you have to go thru this. i know it can't be easy
