  • Congratulations on the weight loss. I just started losing the weight. In your all pictures I see a strong, confident, happy young lady. It takes time to get use to another way of looking at ourselves. Up until March of this year I saw myself as a wife and mother. I had a "lump that wasn't a lump" scare. When my lab work…
  • Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Dori from Finding Nemo.
  • I'm 43 now, I wish I had had your determination and motivation back when I was 19. (That was way back.) I'm starting to lose weight to get off a cholesterol statin. It sounds like you are starting out great. Take it one day at a time. Do your best. And know you can do whatever you set your mind to.
  • This is my second time using MFP. I've tried many times to lose the weight on my own. This time I need to get my bad cholesterol down. So far I have lost 11 pounds since March. Sixteen more to go. Then I'm hoping the doctor will take me off the statin. This is my biggest motivation. I hate having to remember to take that…
  • When I was pregnant with my second girl I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. Not fun. I'm not a fan of needles. :) Sounds like your doing great. Keep going. I'm noticing my clothes fit better, my joints are so achey and I actually have more energy.
  • Hi. I'm Jessie and just turned 43. Working on getting my bad cholesterol down into better range. So my first goal is to lose 19 more pounds by September. Then I'll go from there. Making small changes day by day has seemed to help me. No pop, smaller portions, no artificial sweeteners, no artifical fats, and if I have a bad…

  • There are times that a craving just won't go away no matter what you do. So ok give in a little bit to that craving but don't go overboard and don't beat yourself up. Start over the next day. Also another thing that help me is drinking water when a craving hits me.
  • I do the same thing too. It takes time to change your thinking and habits. I usually craving sweets or carbs. My doctor wants me to have a low fat/carb diet. I started out by cutting my portions down. Then added better foods to what I eat. My hubby and oldest are training for a 5k run so I'm training with them. I don't get…
  • Cool beans. I've lost 8 pounds since March this year. I want/need to lose 19 more by September. My bad cholesterol is high and I see my doctor for a follow up in September. I just take it one day at a time. Keep up the good work.
  • Cool beans. After a small health scare last year I decided that I needed to get healthier. I felt guilty for focusing on me but hubby said I needed to focus on me now. So one day at a time I'm getting there. So to quote Dori from Finding Nemo Just keep swimming.
  • I'm 43 with two girls (12 and 4), SW:267 CW: 257 GW: 240. 5'4". Mostly I need to lower my bad cholesterol. Feel free to friend me.
  • Eating more fish like salmon and tuna plus Chia and flax seeds. The fish is high in Omega3s and the Chia and flax seeds make a gel like substance to help suck up bad cholesterol.

  • I go back to the doctor in September. The doctor referred me to a dietitian who I saw on Wednesday. The dietitian gave me some really good ideas and help in meeting that goal.
