  • I'm 35 and have been thinking along the same lines lately ie. new things to take up. Going to the gym is pretty new for me but is a part of getting myself healthy. I started taking a body balance class, got myself onto roller blades (I used to skate when I was a child) and I've been thinking of taking up a dance. I think…
  • Another from up in Scotland :)
  • That's not true. Believe it or not, not everyone is a fan of food and eating. Anorexia nervosa is a mental condition, it's not the only way to get yourself seriously under weight. I got myself into trouble by drinking tea/coffee all the time and consuming very little food. I don't enjoy eating, I do it because I have to.…
  • I've kinda got hooked on MFP, I like seeing the numbers involved, it gives me targets to shoot for. It's a really good tool for keeping the diet in check but you can use it to keep track of other things too, like body measurements. You can also add new categories to help you keep track of other things not already listed, I…
  • Sorry I missed your post. Yeah I feel much better, my energy levels are way higher than they used to be. I still have a long way to go. I'm still very weak but it's just weak muscles now, before starting this I was lethargic all the time. I'll feel better when the benefits of all the working out start to show. It'll take…
  • I've been in your situation (and I'm not completely out of it yet). Get onto youtube and search 'workouts' and try some out. Your muscles will be weak right now so you need to get them a bit stronger before you can get into the heavier/harder workouts. Squats and lunges are always good so look for some workouts that…
  • Hey from Falkirk, Scotland
  • We know you really do  Falkirk, Scotland here
  • Falkirk, Scotland here
  • I feel your pain, I hit 35 a while ago, it's certain not fun lol. You don't have much to lose but having ME is certainly going to make things more difficult for you, but not impossible  I admit I know very little about ME but from what I remember reading about it in the past, exercise is a way to go but doing it in a…
  • It's great to see you have embraced fitness  I would suggest posting this in the Fitness and Exercise forum. The peeps over there should be able to give you diet ideas to trim off excess fat while keeping your muscles in good condition. Keep up the good work
  • Make sure you guys hang around, want to see you all reach your goals
  • Well done! It's great when you feel the benefits of the hard work
  • OP You are feeling what a lot of us have felt regarding going to the gym in the beginning. It's way worse inside your head than it is in reality. You'll probably find you'll really enjoy it and after a while you'll want to go more and more. I would suggest a gym buddy, it makes a world of difference having a friend with…
  • Definitely. I've been lucky with everything I have scanned has been right. A friend who eats a load of sweets has noticed that there have been errors (with the sweet products). It's well worth it, its such a handy tool. Any smartphone with a camera will do it. You wouldn't need the fanciest one on the market
  • Yeah that's it, you know you can do it now. That's a brilliant loss btw  I'm on the other side of the fence. It's weight gain for me. I was grossly underweight for about the past 17 years and always struggled to hold onto any weight. I've been sorting out my diet using MFP for about nine weeks now and have been…
  • I would be lost without it lol
  • Hey Aby. Well done on what you've done so far and good luck reaching your goals
  • There are a lot of us UK users on here
  • Welcome back and good luck reaching your goals
  • I think I'll choose to believe that was directed at me B) lol
  • Why not lol
  • Thank you  The hardest part is keeping it going long enough to see it working but when you start to see your weight going up it will be soooo worth it  Feel free to add me, I'll do my best to keep you on track
  • I happens, some people come on here then disappear pretty quick, keep trying, add a message in with the friend request so peeps know who you are
  • OP, I feel what you are going through. I was seriously underweight for years and struggled to gain anything. I had next to nothing in body fat and my muscles were wasting away. I know how hard it is. I'm on my 85th day of using MFP to gain weight and I've gained 28lbs of my 42lb goal. I feel like I'm having force feed…
  • I apologise on behalf of our gender, we are a pain in the *kitten* lol
  • I use an el cheapo digital scale I got off ebay but I want a fitbit aria
  • I totally know what you mean. I started to let the exercise part slip and I started to get really disappointed with my myself. I always felt better when I was doing the exercise, I had a load more energy than if I wasn't. It was a bit too easy to let it go, I seemed to forget quickly that I was enjoying the workouts. When…
