Totally liking this thread  Question concerning ab exercise. Since starting my gain mission I've gained slight definition to my abs (4 pack-ish, upper abs). It's slowly disappearing as I'm gaining weight (as expected) so I'm happy with that but I really want to work them, keep the development happening. I've been…

Love this thread! :D :D Hang around MFP for a while and you'll learn how the evil magic of Thermodynamicus works

Hope you have a happy birthday in a few weeks! Well done the big 3 OH! I'll be 36 in 2 weeks ...dammit!

What I would do is use the suggestions above and put the bread on the scale, weigh it and tare the scale with the bread still on it, add your spread, weigh again to get the weight of the spread, so for and so on. Once you've completed it, add it to your recipes section in the MFP app as "Super Sarnie 1" for example. That…

I'll do some reading up on compound exercises and see what ones I can do with the equipment available. Thanks for the input

Yeah I'll go with the bench. I just used the fly as an example because I had tried it before and found I was really unsteady. Would I be right in thinking that by using the machines so much I wont be working stabilizer muscles anywhere near as much as I could be using different exercises?
-
Just answered my question. Thanks
-
Sorry I'll start using the quotes. When I tried the dumbbell flyes I found I was a bit all over the place keeping my balance with a lighter weight than using the machine. Is that the reason?

I was doing the stronglifts program... kind of. The equipment they have at my gym is so limited so I was trying to get as close to the program as I could using the equipment there. Making the best of it  There are mega heavy dumbbells... like I can only drag these badboys along the floor lol

Thanks I'll look into game style push ups. I've been doing dips and pull ups, I'm progressing well there. Ahhh right, dips for lower chest, that makes sense with the shape that's starting to appear on me  I was doing dumbbell flyes at the beginning and found I was really wobbly so I was sticking to the machine. I'll…

Well done with your loss so far Cynthia! It sounds like you have a plan sorted out. Welcome to MFP and best of luck on your journey

I wasn't very good at putting my idea into words so I drew a picture

That's an excellent way of looking at it! I accidentally lost 7lbs over the festive period and yesterday at the gym I wondered how much that really was off my body (more in mass/substance than a number). Tomorrow I'm going to pick up those 7lbs and see what it feels like. To the OP... Everyone loses or…

I've always had that problem on my phone. The app doesn't seem to wrap the text on the message they write on a friend request.

That can be easier said than done. @m0wheels Look for calorie dense foods, I'm sure there is a list here on the forum, sorry I'm not sure where exactly it is. My favourites are pistachio nuts and whole milk for boosting up the calorie count. If you gradually increase your portions you'll slowly be able to handle more food.…

Personally I love the idea of getting all of my nutrients in liquid form so those smoothie/juicing diets sound fantastic to me. Unfortunately the only nutritionally complete solutions in liquid form I've found taste foul lol.

Ahahahahaha perfect!

Have a look around the forums, you'll light hearted or things that may seem remotely 'fun' don't go down well with many users on here. It's usually asking to be attacked lol

Unfortunately you just have to do it mate lol. The feeling of force feeding yourself isn't the best but it does get easier as time goes on. If you eat by the clock religiously, eventually your hunger cues will start to kick in at the right times. Look at your daily calorie allowance on MFP and treat it like a score that…
