  • good luck, not sure how successful you will be, it's not a race. There is no need to do detoxes, no need to limit foods to certain ones. & sorry but 1 to 2 pounds a week is a safe loss. you may loose more the first week but realistically it slows down
  • all the best to everyone in your weight loss journeys. Just remember one day at a time, one meal at a time. Forgive yourself if you go off track. make sure you set realistic weight loss expectations. Some times we want to lose the weight ASAP. Realistically not going to happen. The first week or 2 the pounds can just melt…
  • all the best to you, just one day at a time. & most of all forgive yourself if you go off programme :)
  • i'm constantly working on my motivation & discipline to lose weight & get healthier. I'm currently working on mindful eating, it's a learning process :) All the best to everyone in their journeys feel free to add me if you need a friend. :)
  • i also needed to lose between 100 & 120 pounds which is a rather scary number but by breaking it down into small steps it feels more do-able. Each step can be 10 pounds or 20 then give yourself a reward, a new book, a pedi, something to make you feel good. I'm down 69 pounds so far :) It can be done
  • i started this journey at 249 6 months ago & am now down to 180! It can be done :)
  • welcome to MFP. :) I'd suggest not putting a deadline on your weight loss, If you don't make it by Dec 9 then what will happen? break the total weight you want to lose into small achievable steps, like maybe 10 or 20 pounds & build on that. All the best to you in your journey
  • It is doable as @wennim said break it down. So much easier to do this :) I started back late May & am down 69 pounds with 30 to 50 to go. it can be done! feel free to add me if anyone needs another support buddy, i have found that my friends motivate & support me and I hope i do the same for them
  • I've been back on MFP since May and am down 69 pounds with 30 to 50 to go. It is a long road to go but it is very rewarding along the way. Weigh and log your food consistently and honestly both good or bad.
  • Welcome to mfp. With 90 pounds to lose you can go higher calorie wise.. I'd really recomend that. Start with small changes, maybe cut portion size or have one healthy meal. Then build on that. Break your weight loss into small acheivable goals like 10 pounds & reward yourself when you suceed, with a mani, book something…
  • funny how things hurt as you get older lol. Getting off the sofa takes a bit longer with some grunts .... I came back to MFP late May & happily am down 69 pounds. Struggling a bit these days but hanging in. I log in daily, entering my meals & commenting on friends status'. Feel free to add me :)
  • that's great :) all the best to you in your weight loss journey :)
  • welcome back :) might i just add, you could probably up your calories & still keep losing. With a ways to go you might find it a bit better to have more than 1200. I tried 1200 & soon bumped up to 1600 & now i'm at 1470 & happy with that. all the best to you in your journey :)
  • i log everything, every bite every lick every taste & i am constantly tryign to improve my logging. & yes it works well for me as long as i am honest & as accurate as i can be
  • i keep my end goal in mind & so far it has kept me going over 6 months in :)
  • welcome to MFP, good to start ahead of time. :) All the best to you in your journey
  • Welcome to MFP :) is there an activity that you like? , walking is one of the easiest, even walking for 10 minutes at first & build up from there. I've added strength training & am enjoying it. what about dancing?
  • hi Nikki, welcome to MFP. You have some challenging health issues & it's is good to lose the wieght. 80 pounds does sound scary at first but break it down into 10 pound stages, reward yourself after being successful at each mini goal. a new workout outfit, a movie you wanted. Also make small changes food wise. making a…
  • Support is great isn't it? I love seeing what successes my friends have or helping with bad times. They have helped me through a lot the last few months
  • welcome Nanny, take this one step at a time :) make small changes. Don't focus on the total number of pounds you want to lose, focus on maybe 10 pounds at a time or 10%. I found that is easier for me. Friends do help with encouragement. all the best to you in this journey
  • Depression sucks doesn't it? I can lose weight when i'm happy & positive but once i get down it becomes really difficult to stay on course. December for me is the hardest. I'm trying to stay on track even when i'm down but it's really hard to get over the "what does it matter" blues. However i am down 69 pounds since May…
  • good for you for starting! that's one of the hardest things to do. All the best to you in your journey :)
  • one of my favourite posts, i've booked marked a few http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1 http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1161603/so-you-want-a-nice-stomach/p1…
  • Start with small steps, make small changes & keep building on these small changes. I try to keep positive, i think about my goals & why i am doing this. I don't call this a diet i'm doing a lifestyle change, corny but it is more positive sounding. I'm on day 192, i started at 249 pounds at 5 feet. I'm now down 69 pounds &…
  • Congrats on starting your weightloss journeys. One thing i wish i had done was lose the weight when i was younger. Just remember to take this one small step at a time, small changes lead up to more and more. Make this something that you can keep doing. Don't try to lose weight fast, slow is much more sustainable. It is not…
  • It's never easy at any age, but good for you for starting now :) It can be done. Don't go all out at first, start with small steps & build on those. once these small things become a habit start adding more. Remember it is not a race. This is something you need to keep doing :)
  • I assume to unlock it's part of the premium package not the free version of MFP
  • Losing weight at any age is hard but what's life without challenges lol. I've been on this journey now for 6 months & am down 68 pounds, i have around 30 to 50 to go. It's been an adventure & i have learned lots along the way. I've hit a wall this last while & am learning now to dig in & push through. All the best to you…
  • i was just thinking this lol yum
