  • 1200 is the minimum one should eat, eat proteins for calories add some good fats, maybe peanut butter on whole grain bread & yes eat your proper amount of calories as best as you can, a day here and there is ok but i'd make sure these don't happen very often
  • Some interesting options for you to try. I've not tried the fasting ways. But i do think if you try the food scale & weight all the food for some time it might just help bump the weight loss again. again a great loss so far & keep it up :) All of us are different as to what works for us & i really like hearing about the…
  • wow I get super motivated when i see success stories like this! great job @Smallerjojo2015 so great to see that it can be done :)
  • good luck lol. & i bet the crowds have thinned out. All the best to you in this wonderful journey
  • i had started my weight loss with a bang at the end of May, the weight came flying off initially as i had around 120 to lose. Now 6 months in & 68 pounds down, it has slowed down considerable. I'm ok with that, i'm probably set for .5 to 1 pound loss & right now that is fine, although i'm stalled right now.
  • just enjoy the thanksgiving foods & now carry on. I'd most likely bump up my water intake but no need to do anything special, get back on track food wise & you are good :)
  • i have a few actually lol. & the cheap one from Walmart is my main one. just make sure it can measure grams as it's easy to be more accurate with grams. I think one is by Taylor, my other was by cuisart but honestly you don't need to spend a lot . I think you'll be surprised once you start weighing foods. I know i was &…
  • one small step at a time. Remove some of the junk food & replace with something healthy. Get rid of anything that is junk food related in your home. If you still want something junky make sure you have to go out to get it & only buy small packs. If you want to start eating & aren't hungry, go off and do something else,…
  • do you use a food scale to weigh everything? i find that can be an issue, eyeballing portions was my biggest error
  • as others have said, log it & carry on, life happens & we have to deal with things like this. Occasional blips like this happen. Don't let it derail your progress, it's only one day or one night. Get back on track the next day, lots of water & healthy food & portions & soon it all washes out lol
  • figure out what it is that you want out of this. For me the big thing is i want to get off certain medications. I envision myself at a smaller size being able to go up the stairs without sounding like i'm dieing. I want to fit into regular seats at concerts. I want to shop in regular stores not in plus size stores! & yes i…
  • all the best to you, glad you are able to get back on track.
  • welcome to the journey sonia :) It is exciting to start, scary & overwhelming too. I'm thrilled with my progress so far in my journey. All the best to you and everyone in their journies to health :) & do feel free to add me if you need a friend. My mfp friends inspire me with their success & even with failures.
  • typical food day for me is pretty basic, 3 meals 3 snacks. Breakfast is cereal , lunch usually a salad with chicken or cheese or a tuna salad. Supper is baked chicken with a fresh veggie or steamed veggies. snacks are almonds, apples sunflower seeds, homemade egg muffins, bananas if i have any. i do treat myself if i can…
  • welcome & all the best on your journey to health. I'm down 68 pounds with about 30 to 50 to go, if i can do this then so can you:) Reading as much as you can here in the forums, the success stories, the questions etc. The stickies have a lot of great info that helps immensely
  • I started at 249, my alltime highest weight & last time i'll ever see that number again! I'm down 68 pounds so far with another 30 to 50 to go. I'm unsure of my goal weight currently as it's been many many years since i was last down to 130. Feel free to add me. I really find it helps me reading my weight loss buddies…
  • if you have a lot to lose like i do, i lost it very quickly in the first 2 months. The less you have to lose the slower it goes. I wish it was fast but as others have said, i didn't put this weight on overnight. I'm learning to eat healthy portions & food, i'm learning to deal with ups and downs.
  • 1200 calories is pretty low, i'd probably change my expectations & put in .5 to 1 pounds per week. as to foods .... Tuna is good, eggs, chicken, any kind of lean proteins. Add in seasonal veggies and fruits. For me i don't cut out any food groups unless it is a food i have trouble controlling.
  • being positive is really important. congrats on your weight loss. You are doing amazing :)
  • do you weight everything, if not you are probably eating too many calories, get a scale & start logging accurately. Once i did that the pounds came off as my eyeballing of portion sizes was way off
  • losing over 100 pounds sounds like a daunting number, but break it down into small chunks & it is totally doable. Take it 10 pounds at a time. I'm down 67 pounds now with around 40 more to go. It can be done!
  • you can do this! I look forward to sharing your journey :)
  • All great advice in the above posts. you have to weight & log your food accurately, that was my biggest issue at first. once i started doing that, i started to lose
  • wow, very motivating posts everyone, you all have got me motivated more! and if anyone is looking for mfp friends feel free to add me :) all the best you everyone in their journey to health
  • @ssheets32 & Christolejay with your MFP friends if you are having a tough time reach out for help or just say i'm having a rough day. i found that to be a huge help, knowing that others believe in me & have been through it. If you need another friend feel free to add me
  • in this online community you have many people in the same boat as you. I find reading posts helps keep me motivated & on track. I've started and restarted many times over the years. I restarted again back in late May & this time now i find that even if i am challenged i am able to get back on track within a few weeks, i…
  • I I totally agree, you have to love yourself. Once you start adding in hate & disgust, you can easily derail your journey to health. I was also very unhappy at 120 pounds overweight. When i start to feel the negative thoughts, i try to make sure to turn them into positives. As to getting motivated, that is such an…
  • Took me months to find the right dose, but in the meantime you must weigh your food & log it accurately, you should still be able to lose weight but tighten up your logging. It all comes down to CICO
  • great to hear & welcome back. Nothing wrong with a slow weight loss :) Good to hear about the water class. Becoming more active starts with one small step. All the best to you
  • looking at an online calorie counter you should be able to do up to around 1595. http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/ I eat back around half of my exercise calories & I think many on here do around half to 75%
