Just a quick comment about "side effects" of eating low/lower/zero carb. We should all remember that just because some things happen around the same time, it doesn't necessarily translate into one caused the other. It's important to see your doctor about hair loss that is more than just a little shedding. It could be…

Wow. Wow. You all look like you've changed your bodies SO MUCH. I've seen some scale loss that I'm happy with. My face is a little thinner. But no clothing changes yet, though things are looser. Y'all inspire me.

Best of luck!! Welcome.

Oh for crying out loud.

Just a practical question, here. I do all my MFPing on my iPhone. All my interwebbing. I am a member of this group from the day I signed up, but CANNOT see any other groups now. Nor any of the blogs y'all post, just the

Good for you. I'm struggling to make a comeback, so I'll use you as inspiration.

What an achievement!!

I didn't know exercise raised BG, but I was about to post about cortisol raising it. Gonna go do some research, this is fascinating.

I buy my grass fed butter at Fortino's, in half pound wrappers. So maybe Loblaw's & Canada's Superstores might carry them, too.

Omg. Yes

GARLIC POWDER??????? Omg, now I have to go check Cajun spice. I had assumed it was carb free.

Can I ask... Does anyone else miss beer??

@KETOGENICGURL, can you explain what you mean by fat metabolism at 5-15% after one hour endurance workout? I googled that for an explanation and ended up on body building sites. Thanks!! I'm still trying to learn.

My first full 24 hour + water/green tea fast. Feeling good right now, but I'm on my way to bed. We'll see how this shakes out in the morning.

Michael Mosley's show, the Truth about Exercise, or one of the other ones ( no more short-term memory here, folks), showed genetic testing for whether or not one is resistant to metabolic improvements through exercise, easily adaptable to those changes, or muffle-of-the-road. Also used the HIIT, the bikes you cycle on at…

Thank you. I got MFP to read the darn steps, but my brain couldn't do the reverse.

Welcome @ambergem1969. I'm new too!! Menopausal, my self. I asked my doctor when we would know that I was finished with menopause and he laughed and laughed.

I have early osteoarthritis in my one knee, and this discussion made me realize I haven't even had a twinge in a couple of weeks. My hands feel better, too.

Ooooooh, @Sunny_Bunny_, that sounds fantastic!

Unintentionly broke the fast early this morning. That's the bad news. Good news is that it's the first unintentional "goof" since I began. The others I figured I was going to do, did them, then moved on. I'm reconsidering the BPC. I enjoy it. A lot. I make it through a fast fairly easily without it, but reading the…

I'm fairly new to Keto. I'm trying and experimenting and failing and trying again. I'm doing IF right now as well. I'm 51, live in Southern Ontario. I live in Hamilton, a city, but grew up in the 'burbs around Toronto and Burlington I have 3 grown kids and an empty nest. I work as a bossy bartender in a pub style…

If you drink a glass of water you've salted... I was torn between fajitas sans tortillas and rice or jambalaya last night, and ended up having shrimp, chicken & sausage jambalaya with less than half the rice. Obviously WAY over on carbs, but the rice was delish and a real treat. I never thought of asking for leaf or…

Wow. Just... Wow. I just made these, on parchment in the oven, using shredded PC cheddar. 6 of them, using about a tablespoon? for each one. Next time I'm measuring. I didn't let them brown, just melt and bubble at 350-375• until I could tell they were about to brown. So good. SO GOOD. But I have no idea how to log it. As…

I didn't know they helped with "moving things along." I took them before, along with kelp supplements for improved thyroid function and a good daily vitamin. I should probably start again, as probiotics can help lower inflammation, and that is why I'm on LCHF. (and to lose weight)

Wow!!

I've lost the hunger PAIN/PANG. I can cruise past the 16 hour window no problem, but I make sure to stay hydrated with green tea or water or soda water. I started LCHF 50 days ago, and IF I'm a haphazard way last week in June. Most days I am consistent with IF even if I jump into a bag of movie Popcorn. I can't parse which…

Thanks, @glossbones. If I DONT count the hard-boiled egg I had at 1:45 am leaving work, I fasted for 24 hours. If I do count it, then I broke my fast at 6pm tonight, ish, which was 16 hours. I only ate once today ( yesterday now) a small steak with sautéed spinach and blue cheese. I'm not hungry, I can eat again tomorrow…

I'm still working out the kinks. For instance, I'm wasting food at home and having to throw it out as I am at work for a fair chunk of my eating hours. So, I need to plan better. I also have to go look up if a hard boiled egg breaks the fast...
