  • My only advice is don’t give up. If you feel you slipped, chuck it off and keep going. You won’t be perfect. Perfect doesn’t win this game. Consistency does.
  • Ice, rest, compression sleeve. Rest days are important and I’d suggest less intense runs for awhile.
  • SW: 195 1/9: 191 1/15: 189.2 1/23: 185.2 Challenge Goal: 185 ——————— Made it!!!!! I kinda want to reset goal to 180 but don’t think that would be realistic before Valentine’s. Lost a lot more than than expected this week and worried it will impact my 2lbs per week goal over next few.
  • Almost everything about food: good foods, bad foods, superfoods, cholesterol, fat, sugar, eating at certain time, certain combinations, carbs...all of it. We have a society of people that are literally scared of food and have been taught that there is a definite right and wrong way to eat. Food has become a necessary evil…
  • Interesting read! Thanks!!!
  • It’s just so weird. Makes me realize how little I understand what weight loss really is. Are we basically just losing water as a result of fat cells shrinking?
  • Plenty of flavored sparkling/seltzers that don’t have artificial sweetners, just hint of fruit. Love them and yes, it counts as water.
  • Yes, and it was awful. Had it with flu and it took a good month to get to a point where I wasn’t going to sleep as soon as I got home from work. There was no working out. Hope you feel better soon and much sympathy. It’s rough stuff.
  • Brooks were a godsend for my plantar fasciitis. Adrenaline GT I think. KT tape too. Just hugs to you. It really hurts and just sucks.
  • Whatever you decide, wish you all the best.
  • It’s a big decision. I am good friends with two people that had the surgery and they both lost significant weight fast. One recovered easily, the other struggled for a couple weeks. After three years, they both regained the weight and I think psychologically, that has been the hardest part. Devastating really. I know…
  • Nutmeg is a lot stronger. If you use it, will need considerably less.

  • Omg. YES!!! That sounds amazing!!!
  • Am trying that with pomegranate syrup. Have turkish recipe for stuffed peppers that used in as a finishing sauce and trying to find other ways to use the bottle up. Lol
  • Does anyone know resources for actual Med recipes? I keep finding recipes for the Med Diet which seem to be more like revamps of American recipes with a healthy dose of quinoa. Am looking for typical family recipes that would be served in those areas. Turkey and Greece for example are both Med but are fairly different.

  • I usually run on an empty stomach. Or om coffee. 🤣
  • If it was sabotage, I think you would know. My guess would be that wasn’t his intention but how it feels to you. Having temptations in front of you in your home is difficult and sounds like you expected they weren’t going to be allowed. Would also consider that he was getting them for himself and using you as excuse. Try…
  • Add a scoop of Amazing Grass (Berry or original are my family’s favorite flavors) to any smoothie. We usually do frozen strawberries, water, yogurt/quest vanilla protein powder or frozen orange slices, carrots, water, yogurt or protein powder.
  • I’m in! Starting at 10lbs and counting down!!!
  • I don’t eat breakfast. I don’t want it. Have never understood why people insist on saying you have to eat breakfast even if you aren’t hungry. That’s part of our problem as a society...teaching people to disregard what their bodies are telling them because studies show “X, Y, Z” is more important. If you are hungry eat. If…
  • Yes!!! So I made it a goal. When I was able to walk 5 miles, I started coach to 5k. Was 220lbs. Went slow. May have been passed by walkers but I kept going. And I did it!!! I’m still slow but now I’m working on my time and can run a 5k. The fact that I am able to do that blows my mind.
  • If you are interested in adding a supplement to a breakfast drink or smoothie, highly recommend Amazing Grass. It has a LOT of dehydrated fruits and vegetables, including celery, in it and I have found that it gives me a lot of energy. There is something in it that my body needs though no idea what it is. I can’t imagine…
  • The people that have really pushed to know what I have been doing haven’t been too impressed with my answer. Counting calories and staying in a deficit isn’t exciting or new. They like that they still see me eating bread, pasta, cookie, etc but the portions and fitting those into my calorie allowance is not particularly…
  • I don’t really remember but pretty early in. The thing I do notice is that I feel awful after eating junk in general. A few bites are fine but anything more than that and I feel gross and/or tired. Wonder if it was always that way.
  • That is very possible. Ugh. In my head, I just needed to lose the weight but it’s so much more than the actual weight. Is like all your emotions and relationships are connected and impacted.
  • I have made a point to not use the scale while she is here because I don’t want to get the comments. Will be told I am being compulsive and developing unhealthy relationship woth food. We have talked about losing weight in past but have learned it’s not a good conversation to have. Definitely avoid talking about it but has…
  • Hmm. That’s a good point. Maybe she isn’t trying to bring me down and it just feels that way. That’s a better way of looking at it for sure.
  • No, it isn’t a happy place which is what makes it so hard. She is miserable and as you say, stuck and I know I can’t change that. Am surprised how much her comments hurt knowing her like I do. Wish I could help bring her up and she wants to bring me down. That may be why it hurts so much. Will try to reframe situation to…
