Timing matters. More calories in morning?
Has anyone looked into the study that showed overweight women lost significantly more weight by having half their calories at breatfast than the women that had half at dinner? Same food and same calories over 12 wks. Assuming it would even out over longer amount of time but is curious if timing could be a quick start…

Happy New Years!!!
Labor Day has always been my “real New Year.” Must have been all those new pencils and backpacks but this is such a great time for new beginnings! I have been maintaining this summer and starting today, will be back in deficit to lose those last 20lbs. Does anyone else have a Labor Day resolution?

Fitbit calories not applying?
Starting Monday, Fitbit stopped applying calories burned to diary. The steps are there but bo calories. Haven’t changed anything. Is this just me or maybe related to fitbit issues MFP was having a couple weeks ago?

Smaller shoe size?
Has anyone gone down in shoe size as result of weight-loss? How much had you lost when that happened?

What maintenance weight do you eat at?
Eating at goal maintenance weight would still be deficit. When you eat at maintenance, are you using current weight or your goal weight?

How to tell yourself you aren’t fat anymore
Have been overweight for a number of years and am getting closer to my goal weight. Have lost 75lbs now. How have you adjusted mentally to such a physical change? I still feel like I am heavier. I’m not seeing much change but it’s obviously there as I’m wearing smaller clothes. Did you eventually acclimate to it on your…

Feeling defeated for no reason
Have been eating maintenance all week and went over that yesterday. I just feel...like, what is the point? If I lose the next 35/40lbs, will still be “soft” with stretched skin. Am not usually this defeatist but have you experienced anything like this while you were actively losing? Am not in plateau, just suddenly feeling…

Buy size 4 blazer as goal clothing?
My original goal pants are now baggy on me. Am 5’7”, 180lbs and size 12. There is this blazer that is on sale that I LOVE. I own it in a 14 but it’s huge on me. It is currently available in a size 4 and size 10. Am looking to about 45 more lbs. For $50...is it worth buying the 4 as motivation?

How do you decide final weight goal
At 5’7”, I set my final goal to 145. That felt so impossible all those months ago that I didn’t over think it but am now wondering if I should set it lower. I don’t want to disappoint myself and find out at 145 that I still have all lot to lose. I know that will upset me. Was thinking of resetting to 135 but that is just…

Whoosh? Losing a lot at once
What causes this? Have been staying around same calories but this week, have dropped a lot. Have been losing consistently since June and there are some weeks I’m barely losing a pound and then some where 5lbs come off like it’s nothing.

Dealing with jealous family
Have lost 60lb over 2018. I still want lose another 40 so am obviously not skin and bones. A family member said something that really bothered me. Had mentioned that I was cold and she immediately snapped, in front of the rest of my family, that if I ate, I wouldn’t be cold. It wasn’t said kindly and it caught me off…

Not eating back calories dangerous?
The NHS’s new 800 calorie diabetes diet has gotten a lot of attention and while reading about it, am a bit confused about my own calorie intake. I stay around 1200 a day, or rather, average that for the week...some days over, some days under, but I don’t account for exercise. Am reading that going below 1200, causes organ…

Handling July 4 parties
We have several parties this week and looking for tips on how to get through them without feeling deprived or blowing off the whole week. I don't want to obsessive over what I can eat but I can't go overboard at all of these. How do you balance holidays with multiple get-togethers? What does a person without food issues…

I ate all the things
Today was one of those days that I felt hungry all day. I've gone over my calories by 400 calories eating a total of 2300. This is the first time I've ever eaten back all my calories and the first time I've ever gone over my daily goal. Guess what? I'm totally ok with it. I don't feel guilty. I don't feel like I've flown…

C25K Week 5
I did it! I not only ran my first mile today, but I ran 1.75 in 20min! I was so worried I wouldn't be able to get through this week without repeating but I did it!!!!!!!!!

Check my Total/Net calories. Still Ok?
This has been a crazy week and looking back, I've had treats every day which is unusual for me. I'm over my total and under my net. Could someone tell me what a week like this means (generally for weightloss). Wondering how much of a set back this is, if any.

Sleep and weightloss
Have you found sleep an important part of your weight loss? I know CICO but have you found that too much or too little sleep has affected your choices, motivation, whatever?

Activity Level
Lightly active or active? I walk at least 10k a day which includes 3 sessions of 30min of C25K training (on week 5), and 3 strength training sessions. My "run" is extremely slow and my weights are very low. What would you put as your activity level? If feels odd to say that I'm anything but lightly active but maybe that's…

Ok for beginning strength training?
Would sticking to this circuit be appropriate for a beginner? Looking for an easy routine to stick to for a few months to get in the habit. Due to medical reasons, I need to use machines rather than free weights for stabilization.

Total vs Net Calories
I'm confused about my 7 day calorie totals. If I look at total, I'm about 250 over for the week. If I look at the Net, I'm under by over 4,000. What's the difference?

Feel guilty about eating back calories.
I'm in this for the long haul and rationally understand that there will be days that I go over my 1450 calorie goal. Today was one of those times. It was my birthday dinner, it was delicious, and it came just under 2K calories. Based on my Fitbit, I still have 400 calories left. I was able to enjoy a special meal tonight…

Tips on cutting back calories after injury
I've had a recent injury which means I'm not going to me burning any significant calories like I have been. I have been in such a good plus calorie wise but I've gotten use to having days where I "earned" more. It's only a few hundred calories but knowing that I don't have any wiggle room or calories to save up is…

Low Carb Days?
Does anyone have experience with low carb days? I'm considering adding two low carb days a week to help weight loss. I'm stalling a bit after losing 30lbs and don't want to cut more calories. I've upped my workouts but I feel I could add a few low carb days fairly easily if it might help. Thoughts?
