I love your ideas for weigh in and NSV. I want to help motivate each other.

Love this thread. I was just looking at my apron this morning and worrying about how I will look after I lose weight. Thanks for everyone that showed their picture. Makes me feel less abnormal.

Where can you see weekly goals on MFP?

I am a member of WW right now but I don't like the new Smart Point system. Also the WW website is a pain to navigate. I'm switching all over to MFP. I also found I'm learning a lot more about nutrition in this community. I think it is because there is a wider range of people here.

I'm switching over from WW to MFP. The new program they introduced has been a big problem for me to stick to. Plus their website is so annoying to navigate.

Yes. I gained about 50 pounds after stopping smoking. It felt like I replaced one bad habit with another. Ten years later I am still struggling to get down to the weight I was before I quit.

BTW, thanks for all the good information guys. It helps to hear real stories about how people are managing.

Technically he has called it pre-diabetic so maybe there is still hope. But I don't know if pre-diabetic is just a fancy way of saying..mildly diabetic. But that's what he calls it. Pre

He is a family practitioner. The thing is he specifically says on his profile that he has a special focus on diabetes. I just think overall he isn't a good fit for me. I feel like he is really aggressive with his prescribing meds too. Seems to be his first choice for everthing. I'll keep my eye our for the APNP you…

Good job everyone that has been able to get your A1C down with lifestyle changes. He wants me to come back in only 2 months and I know even if the numbers look better, even if I'm still losing weight he will try to prescribe Metformin. My last reading was 5.9-the highest it's ever been. After that reading I got my butt in…

Yeah, he did. I mean what he said, that might be true but his delivery sucks. Of course I might still become diabetic but he made it seem like there wasn't a chance in hell of avoiding it even if I lost weight. He has been harping on me to lose weight and I'm doing it but then today he drops that on me. Oh he loves to…

That's great info lacroyx and congrats on your success. My doctor is so negative sometimes. I mean, I don't want him to sugar coat stuff but he is never encouraging and makes it seem like i'm doomed no matter what i do.

I'm just getting started but I have around 70 to lose.

15 pounds is awesome! You are doing fabulously. I just started here too and I need to lose at least 60-70 lbs. I want some friends here as well.

I have a lot of weight to lose, 60 plus pounds. I am really worried about having lots of loose skin afterwards too. I keep Googling images of those that have lost a lot of weight and while it is inspiring it is also scary to see some of the hanging skin some have after dramatic weight loss. I'm not going to let it stop me…
