The worst! I'm awfully glad that did not happen. But then, apparently fire is the best thing for spiders.

So recently I visited my folks. While I was there, a large, fast moving wildfire broke out and my parents and all their neighbors had to evacuate ahead of the fire. (Everyone is okay, no worries. The fire changed direction.) However, the pulse-pounding, adrenaline pumping hours spent racing around trying to get animals,…

Just over one and a half 20 pound bags of kitty litter.

6 and a half 5-pound bags of potatoes.

That I will still look in my closet and see a bunch of clothes that are too small for me. They aren't, actually. In fact, most of them are now too big for me. But my ability to eyeball a piece of clothing and determine whether it will fit on my body or not has been compromised. How big am i, really? This, and I still have…

Oh, another one! My plantar has started to go away! It's not gone, not yet, but a few months ago it was really painful and now I hardly notice it.

Yesterday I walked 7 miles, did an hour-long strength training class, and fit into my second-smallest existing item of clothing, for the first time in 6 years. It was a good day. Tiring, but good. #1 smallest item of clothing, well... 20-30 pounds from now, maaaaybe I'll start thinking about trying to put that on... I hung…

I can now fit into a bridesmaid's dress I wore back in 2009. It was a tight fit (it was in 2009, as well), but it is gratifying and motivating to see six years of weight gain come off (with more to go, as I was heavier than I wanted to be in 2009) in the past four months. Keep on truckin'!

Thanks guys!

When the cute skirt that was too tight to squeeze into three months ago is now falling off your hips. Soon it will be time for some shopping!

Bump.

Well, just for the record, I happen to think you are naturally beautiful.

Back in May, at my highest weight and finally making the decision to lose. In mid-August, about three months along the path. 29 pounds down and about 55 more to go. Just portion control and CICO. My physical activity level has stayed about the same, but I have never had a problem getting outside to do a little exercise…

This right here.

Bingo. Right on the money. Also- has Ms. Moss never tasted bacon? Cheese? Those are pretty damned delicious, if you ask me, and you can TOTALLY EAT THEM IN MODERATION and still be slender. Gah!

I signed up to go skydiving. Except, oh look, I was over the weight limit for women. That was humiliating, and the fact that my weight was now getting me excluded from activities that I wanted to take part in was definitely a big motivator to drop the poundage. I am 27 lbs down now (and under the skydiving weight limit!),…

Hm. Thanks, Vismal. That seems to make sense.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I'm going through a rough personal patch myself, and have struggled to stay the course and not fall back into comfort eating to make myself feel better. What other people are saying on this thread is great, helpful stuff. The only thing I would add is "fall down seven times, stand up…

Thanks for the responses, everybody! I wasn't expecting such an avalanche of feedback, but it's better than none, that's for sure. I'm going to continue with what I was doing and not worry about it anymore; that seems to be the reasonable thing to do.

Sure! A little about me: 33, working professional, chronic cat lady syndrome, lover of cheese and the outdoors, introvert that successfully masquerades as an extrovert, loves the strange and unusual, and well on my way to fitting back into pants I haven't dared touch in 10 years. SW:221, CW:197, GW:145. I've got a ways to…

Man, I could've written those very words, particularly about using my fat as a security blanket. In fact, I think that was one of the main obstacles to my making the decision to lose weight. Fat was 'safe' (well, not really, not truly, but it sure felt like it). Fat meant that most people would leave me alone, women would…

I'm so sorry for your loss. You are responding like a champion. Hats off to you!

I have a few whys, some light-hearted enough, one pretty serious. 1. I want to go skydiving, but when I signed up for my 'maiden voyage' this last spring, I was mortified to see that I was over the weight limit for women. 2. I want to stop being the 'fat friend.' Most of my friends never bring it up, and will strenuously…

Just put on some pants I haven't been able to squeeze into in two years, and they fit perfectly. Now, I look forward to the time that they are too big...

Saute kale, onion and sausage (4oz) together (or vegan sausage, in this pic. I'll eat anything) with just a sprinkle of olive oil (1tsp or less). Add a side of hummus (1/4 cup) and sliced tomato. Sprinkle hot sauce or sriracha over everything. Savory breakfast deliciousness! Approximately 500 calories, depending on how…

Okay- that's what I figured, but wasn't sure if I was just missing something. Thanks!

We could be twins! Protein, avocado, hot sauce=best breakfast ever!

Placenta.

That's awesome! Good job! That is one of my goals as well; I don't think I've done a pull up since grade school, but want to be able to do an honest-to-goodness, true-to-form pull up.
