I literally didn't claim any of those things..did you read my first post? Literally the entire purpose was to express how pointless the advice of "just eat less calories than you burn" is..like someone else pointed out, it's like telling an alcoholic "hey..just don't drink anymore"...but what it does accomplish is…

More like overly snark and elitist people on MFP...this should be a place for those to feel any question is a good question, because we're all in it together.

You seem to misunderstand my post entirely, while at the same time sort of supporting it. I wrote the post to highlight patronizing responses that basically only serve to belittle a person. Also, I'm not gonna need luck or an attitude adjustment, as I said in my post, I've been very successful losing 40lbs already..thanks…

Unfair is in the eye of the beholder..but sometimes I remind myself I'm pretty damn lucky because I have drinkable, temp changing water that pours from my wall at will. Perspective achieved!

Right..we all know that..that's the The trial and error just comes in figuring out how much and what works best for you, and you're right that it all takes patience. No one became overweight overnight, no one will lose weight overnight either.[/quote] ^^

I spoke to a dietician and emailed another..both are fine with what I'm doing, especially considering my need to lose weight currently..but if I do need any further advise regarding my diet I will follow up with them again. And I'll also be closing my diary to spare others the concern.

I dont eat 900 calories every day...some days I eat 2000, some days I eat 900. Please don't start this debate, lol, I've been through it enough.

@ogmomma2012 I agree. Awesome job on the 75lbs down. I think that weightloss is simple in theory, but very much more complicated in practice. Would you agree?

Eh..these days I feel like if you know you're strong willed and able to get back on the bandwagon, hell yeah, eat a whole cake if that's what you really want. I wasn't, until recently, now I am strong willed and I can have a cheat day every now and then so it's not a big deal. If you don't think you can get back in line…

Thanks for all the support, everyone! Woot!

I'll be tracking for a long time, at least till i hit my goal weight of about 250.

Yeah 2 weeks sounds pretty good, im just having a hard time breaking the obsession with the scale. Like soda, I figure the longer I go without it, the less I'll need it.

Lol what does being happy not to live in northern America have to do with salty crunchy snacks?
-
I often forget to eat..I'll sit down to work on a hobbie and 6 hours later I've got like 1000 calories to eat
-
Eh..I eat few enough calories..I'm just wondering if there's anything about a new exercise regimen that might cause water weight or something at the start..also I'm mostly just venting impatience =)

Weighing it before I cook it isn't very accurate either, because I never know how much of it is stuck to the bottom of the rice cooker.

I think you're being a bit alarmist? Also, I didn't look into her profile, but I don't regret supporting anyone's goals as long as they don't hurt anyone else..Her body, if she wants to be "underweight", I'm to assume her reasons are as valid as my reasons to get thinner, and I'm fine supporting her.

Heck yeah! Just do it, making sacrifices now for a long term goal is something I'm just barely learning, and it's so worth it. 2months I'm down like 30lbs. I'm not saying what I did is healthy or what you should do, I'm just sayin with the right discipline and focus, you can easily reach your goal! Gl mate.

Grats man, sounds amazing..Today I ate not one, but TWO sonic hot dogs, which are loaded with sodium...My plan on cheat meals is to eat a banana (helps a lot with chemical balances and such), and drink a bunch of water...I do this every time I have a lot of sodium and now days I rarely see a water weight spike. just imo
-
I had a big piece of cake tonight..this sort of thing doesn't happen often, but when it does, I just appreciate the happy feeling of eating cake and move on =)
-
sounds good, thanks!

I WAS addicted to soda, talkin 5+ cans of mountain dew a day..but then I went a week using mio, and I loved that too...also the longer I spent away from soda, the less I wanted it!
-
Well hopefully within a month or two I'll be back into the two hundreds..gonna be so great

I do that sorta stuff. I make sure I don't get too much sodium, and I drink a lot of water, because it seems like being a little high on sodium can cover up and losses for the week in water weight.
