Is this your first month? If so, I wouldn't worry - half of the 6% could be "Beginners losses". If it's not your first month, I would recommend to slow down. While knowing you're losing that fast is great, weightloss is a really, really good example of "slow and steady wins the race". You shrink slower, giving your skin a…

Your metabolism basically is just your body processing energy to keep you alive. "Metabolism is a term that is used to describe all chemical reactions involved in maintaining the living state of the cells and the organism" If it didn't magically kick in until a predetermined time, we would either be dead or very sick.…

Eggs, spreads, definitely okay. Meat or dairy based products - I would touch them and see how cold they are, if the fridge was only open a teeeny tiny bit, they may have kept cold enough to be okay. A restaurant would throw everything in the bin, but restaurants have to keep food at the highest level of safety - as they…

Two words: Meal prep. Find a couple hours that you are free, make up some freezer-friendly meals and freeze in appropriate portions. No matter how time-poor you are, you will always have time to chuck a frozen meal in the microwave.

Obsessive for a "normal" person, yeah I agree. But for a celebrity, considering all the dinners, lunches & other opportunities to overeat - it's probably not that obsessive. Better than the "juice cleanse" or "proslim watermelon 9000 megaevolution fairyfarts" everyone else is promoting.

Is your "1900" calories an accurate 1900 calories? Are you using a food scale? While many people (who do not use a food scale and therefore make guesses) underestimate their calorie intake, there are some people who overestimate their intake and end up struggling on "1900" calories which is more like 1300. If you are…

Self control around food is like a muscle - you have to work it out to make it stronger. Ok, so you ate 700cals (approx) this time. But hey, it could've easily been 1000cals! Next time try for 600cals, then the next time 500cals. It will only get easier if you keep trying - any attempt (even if it fails) is worth the…

People really don't get it. Unfortunately, all you can control is your reaction. I've learnt that the best way to avoid these types of "lectures" is a short and simple "I'm fine". The reasons why they probe about food vary, but unfortunately, you can't stop them.

Pros: Easy to cook, log & eat Cons: Can be expensive & can be a little "hit and miss" with quality. Personally, I loved them but were far, far too expensive where I live, so I made my own :)

This thread is turning into an interesting example of how humans are terrible as guessing calorie consumption.

Two words: Meal preparation. I work 3 jobs - all with varying hours. Depending on what i'm working, my day can start anywhere from 4:30am and end anywhere up to 1am which doesn't leave much time in-between. I found making up meals and freezing in advance the key point. I am NOT going to be cooking everyday - I just don't…

Was a regular/skinny kid. It was only after I finished school and started working full time that I was starting to gain weight. It was the change from school to a desk job, buying lunch everyday & snacking in the office. I feel very lucky that I noticed early and changed my behaviours before I had a significant amount to…

How is that eating the same thing every day??? The only thing that is the same is the shake. I think your issue is measuring calories in - do you have a food scale?

I used to eat brown rice because "it was better for me". Then I realised how similar they are nutritionally and I changed to white rice. For me, it's more filling, tastier and quicker to cook. Win, win, win!

Dropping calories will mean faster weight loss. It's simple science. However, you may not see the difference day to day or week to week. It's like those TV ads that promote putting extra money away for retirement - $10 a week over 20 years sort of thing. However, calories are not like savings accounts. 100 calories can be…

I didn't realise I had shrunk until I went to put on a pair of shorts I hadn't worn in a while. They practically fell off. My busy schedule means the only clothes I really wear are work clothes & pyjamas. While I downsized the work pants - it didn't really sink in, I mean they were a mens cut anyway (womens just don't have…

For me, it's about being consistent on the non-party days/hours. Yes there may be days where I enjoy myself and eat a bit too much, but as long as I am on-track every other time, it will all smooth out in the end. Rather than "falling off the horse", just "dismount" and have a break - it's "getting back on the horse"…

"You don't need to worry about calories, only sugar!" My god I could eat 5,000 calories with minimal sugar, doesn't make it magically defy the law of CICO. And this came from someone who knew I have recently lost 12kg doing calorie counting

Fruit puree. I like the kids-style squeeze pouches of the stuff. Freeze then remove from freezer, allow to thaw juuust a little and it's suddenly like a slushie :)

I saw a packet of chips that had 32 servings in them :( They went back on the shelf. Another was the "Skinny" icecream had more calories per 100g than similar non-skinny icecreams!

The scale can only measure the downward force. It cannot measure your clothes fitting better or how you feel about yourself. Water weight, hormonal changes, poop can all mask fat loss.

Fasting just makes me eat massive meals when the fast is over. I love food and when I go on holidays it is a calorie-free zone. When the holidays are over, I have to wean myself off the massive meals and become content with my calorie-appropriate sized meals. I find using a small bowl helps. If you really struggle to…

It also depends on where your body loses the weight first. I have found I lose weight (and gain weight) around my face first, so it was very obvious for people who knew me. For others, it may be places as weird as your ankles, and not many people are looking at them enough to notice a change.

1kg of feathers is the same as 1kg of lead 1000 calories of broccoli is the same as 1000 calories of steak Volume might not be the same, but a kilo is a kilo and a calorie is a calorie.

I work two jobs which both have odd hours that are frequently changing. No two weeks are the same. My work day can be as long as 4:30am to Midnight. What works for me is just eating when i'm hungry/can. I meal prep lots of small meals that I can freeze then reheat when needed. Super easy!

Start recording the money you spend on takeaway/eating out/junk. When I realised I was literally spending 100-400 a month on crap I didn't even remember eating, the money went towards new things and I have a lot more pocket money.

One thing I found that really helped was taking photos of people actually using the machines. No matter how many times I was run through the exercise, I could never remember how to do it. I got my boyfriend to use the machine, I would take some photos and pick the best one that showed the exercise. Added it to a iphone…

The worst is when you go to use the squat rack and have to take 200kg worth of plates off by hand - and it always happens on the sorest day after working upper body. No worries beefcake, i'll take those plates off for you since you're obviously too fatigued!

I would take any study based off "The Biggest Loser" with a grain of salt. That show uses constant monitoring and supervision, very low calorie diets and high levels of exercise to force massive weight drops. I certainly believe having someone lose 7-9kgs a week for 10 weeks will ruin their metabolism, which pushes the…
