Very few people on here recommend intakes of 1200 and restricting foods etc. A lot of people starting out believe that's the only way to do it but quickly learn it's not the only way and probably not the best way for them. The people who are feeling weak and lethargic and tired are too restrictive, and if you have seen any…

Get a second opinion. We don't know the details why he would have recommended such a small intake, but short of being only months away from an obesity-related death, I'm not sure why. A second, medical, opinion would be a good starting place.

Okay, so you may not like your wedding photos, but so many people don't. An out-of-date trend, an ex-friend who was bridesmaid, the "fabulous" idea to put your pale pale friends in an overwhelming colour. What you need to do now is use the tools available to you so you will enjoy all the other photos to come in your…

Maybe. I feel like i'm much better at judging how much food I actually need, but my love for pasta, pizza and cheese makes it hard. I will keep doing meal-prep, as it's saved me more money than I ever imagined it would.

If you are working out more (either in frequency, duration or effort) you will have weight-related water retention. Are you sure you are only eating 1300? Make sure you are using a food scale, accurate data entries & accurate logging. How often are you weighing? If you only weigh once a week, for example, you might be…

For me, a balanced meal doesn't have anything to do with macros. For me, "balancing" a meal means it's tasty enough that I want to eat it and that it's filling enough that I don't get hungry 20 minutes later. I've found my happy point between taste and "satisfaction" means a roughly 3 way split between carbs, veg & protein…

When I first started, I tried hitting my macros perfectly every day and I was miserable. I've always naturally had a high-carb, low fat and medium protein diet. Trying to force myself to change that was not much fun. I now just focus on calories and eating a fairly balanced diet. I am looking to build muscle soon and will…

Low-fat french dressing + a soft boiled egg. The egg adds protein and bulk to the salad but when the yolk mixes with the french dressing, it is super tasty, almost like a Caesar salad!

Nearly everything humans do today isn't "natural", why stop at giving up dairy? Why not give up using cars, electricity, clothes and only eat food that you grow/kill yourself? In all seriousness, unless you're lactose intolerant, don't like dairy or have a moral objection to milk & milk products - there are no reasons to…

Look at your diary. Is there something that can be cut, reduced or switched? For example, I won't notice if I have 90g instead of 100g (dry) pasta. I won't notice if I have skim milk instead of full. If I don't eat that donut that was offered this morning, that's okay too.

First step would be to see if you can work your way into eating at your calorie goal. You're having issues because you're undereating. If the OCD won't let calorie counting be a sustainable option, maybe switching to a method that doesn't use calorie counting will help - perhaps a "portion plate" will allow you to get…

Have you considered a "flavoured" vodka + soda? I hate vodka & soda as I find it too easy to taste the vodka, but peach flavoured vodka and soda is really nice. I also go for higher calorie spirits, like sweet liquors but added to soda, it may have more calories than vodka, but overall less than vodka+"full strength" soft…

How accurate is your logging? The closer you get to your goal the less wiggle room you have as your body doesn't need as many calories to maintain your weight.

I used to be a coke drinker, but prefer Pepsi Max over coke zero/diet. I don't really like the taste of diet drinks so i'll either do a Pepsi Max, black tea/coffee or sparkling water with fruit like lime, lemon, strawberries, cucumber etc.

"I don't wanna diet. I want a lifestyle change" From what i've seen, this is commonly said by people who don't want to go to the gym 3 times, eat a salad for lunch for one week and then give up. The same people also usually then try to "overhaul" their life and try and do an "instagram" lifestyle, gym, eating clean etc,…

Okay, this is my favorite desert/breakfast/lunch (it's versatile). And it's easy to have in the cupboard/freezer with very little preparation. Get a tin of pie apples (Stewed apples in the tin) - My portion is 200g Add cinnamon - Just a small sprinkle Heat in microwave Add a tablespoon or two of toasted muesli/oats - My…

My entire year group at school received this vaccine. Not one complaint from the entire group (100+ students)... apart from that the needle was sharp. Pros: Vaccinated against a common & potentially dangerous disease Cons: Sharp needle

Have you tried NOT eating breakfast? I used to find myself crazy hungry between breakfast & lunch. One day I missed breakfast and didn't realise I had missed it until lunchtime. Now I regularly skip breakfast and not eat (apart from maybe a coffee/tea) until lunch.

The activity level is meant to account for "accidental exercise" you get - basically the stuff you do "outside" the gym. You might be a mailman on a pushbike then come home and have three brats children to run around after. You do this daily and your accidental activity level is higher. Compare that to an office worker…

Nothing.... hahaha Still eat everything, just less frequently. I decided long before I started MFP that if my goal weight meant giving up anything, I wasn't going to do it - I know I can't. The closest thing i've done to "give up" something is I no longer buy my lunch 5x a week (and instead meal prep). That *kitten* was…

Being perfectly honest, it sounds *kitten* delicious and personally I feel any alternatives wouldn't do it justice. Could you just have a smaller portion? Is the lower sodium/carbs a doctor's recommendation?

Weightloss is caused by a calorie deficit, not by whether you do cardio or strength training. Fat doesn't "turn into" muscle, it's not a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. You burn fat and you build muscle. Cardio is great for cardiovascular (heart) health & strength training is great for building strength and can help…

How long as the weightloss slowed down for? If it's slowed down over the past couple of days, it's probably period-related water retention. Relax.

Pineapple is really good for a sore throat. However, when I was little and sick with tonsilitis I binged on the stuff because it helped so much... I now associate pineapple with pain

Get some pre-workout... most of them have caffeine and will give the same effect as caffeine pills but they also have a lot of other good stuff in there for your workout.

I think you're very lucky that this has happened now instead of before you lost the weight. I'm no doctor but I really can't imagine losing weight causing all those issues. If you were overweight and all of this happened, you could have faced a team of doctors dismissing it as obesity-related illnesses that will be fixed…

If the trend is saying you're getting smaller but you're eyes aren't matching it, you're either a) not noticing the small changes that are happening every day (I still can't notice the difference but everyone else can!) b) feeling extra self-conscious about your body and not appreciating the changes

I have five strategies; 1) Plan to have a snack in the evening & leave calories for it 2) Plan to have a low cal/"healthy" snack in the evening & leave calories for it 3) Eat more at dinner to feel less like needing a snack 4) Brush Teeth 5) Have a zero-calorie soda instead - get a sweet fix without calories

I'm so, so glad to hear this. Make sure it doesn't last two days then stops. You can do this, together.

My favourite is Apricot Chicken! I used to make it with drumsticks but they were too painful to figure out the calories so I use chicken breast and/or chicken thighs. I usually use 1kg of Chicken Breast and/or chicken thighs, 1 packet french onion soup mix & 1L Apricot nectar (in the longlife cartons or in the tins) Add…
