  • Thanks @KnitOrMiss I am feeling so much better. I really focused on my electrolytes Saturday and by that evening I was a new person. By Sunday I felt amazing and the feeling has continued ever since. I've actually had the energy to get back into my walking routine and plan to get back to weight lifting starting next week.…

  • Hi, another HBP sufferer who was afraid of sodium. I finally started adding salt back into my diet and I feel amazing. I do watch potassium, calcium and magnesium as well. I really feel like I've found my balance.
  • Good morning LCHF Friends!! SW (03/2015) 251.8 MFP Start(06/2015) 235 CW 192.4 GW 150 (then re-eval) I started LCHF about 5 weeks ago. I had a struggle getting my carbs to where I wanted them at first and then a brief issue with electrolytes. The past several days I have been feeling amazing and full of energy along with…
  • True Lime.....where have you been all my life? I picked some up this morning after reading a few people comment about it. Mixed 2 packets with 20 oz water and some iodized salt. It was so good! Keto-ade indeed.
  • Fantastic job taking you health and your life back. You should be incredibly proud of all of your hard work and determination.
  • I have to say I am beginning to feel this myself and it's great! The past 3 days I have really turned a corner. I have more energy, am feeling in better control of my electrolytes and my total calorie goal. I have stopped having cravings and I just feel really good. My TOM started yesterday morning and I have fewer cramps…
  • I actually took some mascarpone cheese and put a couple of drops of stevia on it and it was amazing.
  • A helpful tidbit I learned in Anatomy and Physiology: Calcium and Magnesium are absorbed by the same receptor sites on the cells of our digestive tract. If at all possible you should not take them at the same time because they will compete for absorption and one will not make it. Try taking Calcium and Mag at least 4 hrs…
  • Timehop helped to remind me today that I am healthier now than I was 6 years ago and that made me feel really good. Pic on the left is 07/2010, pic on the right is 03/2016

  • Last night I needed a snack before bed and had 1 cup of chicken stock with a tbsp of coconut oil. That was tasty and savory. Drank it fast so the oil wasn't like a slick, lol.
  • Eat plenty of spinach and avocado. Spinach is super low calorie/low net carb and has all 4 major electrolytes; sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium. Avocado is high fat, low net carb and has magnesium and potassium along with a lot of other wonderful vitamins and minerals.
  • Hubby and I just spent 2 hours sorting through all of our clothes. We had a massive pile of oversized items by the time we were done. At least 4, 30 gallon trash bags worth. Most of them were his because I have been donating clothes a little at a time over the past year. Out local thrift shop is going to get a big donation…
  • Thanks to this thread I went home and made spinach sauteed in butter and coconut oil with baby Bella mushrooms.......still drooling.
  • I just had a tbsp of mascarpone cheese with a couple of drops of stevia 6g fat, no carbs, soooo yummy.
  • My hubby cut out soda and eats the low carb dinners we prepare together and has lost about 15lbs in the past 2 months. He hasn't changed anything else. I get the envy, I really do.

  • Spinach is a great source of sodium, magnesium, potassium and calcium. It's an electrolyte powerhouse.
  • I've noticed a reduction in the frequency and severity of my migraines and a reduction in joint pain. I'm thrilled!!
  • I am feeling the effects of electrolyte imbalance this week for sure. I have been having a tough time keeping my salt level high enough, I have always had issues with water retention so it scares me to eat too much salt. This week I had some major lower GI distress that resulted in a major fluid loss over about 24 hours.…

  • I put on about 60 lbs over the course of 3-4 years so I have a lot of clothes from various sizes from that process. I have had fun shopping my closet. I'm getting close to the point of having to buy all new stuff and that's exciting.
  • I recently switched to LCHF but even before that I made sure bacon fit into my calories for the day from time to time. It's just too tasty and satisfying to give up altogether.
  • I ate a vegetarian diet for about 2 years. It didn't work out for me but I am in support of anyone who wants to eat this way. I still make this chili recipe, my hubby and I love it. Lazy Crock Pot Chili 3 cloves garlic, chopped (or 3-4 tsp of chopped jar garlic) 2 tbsp olive or coconut oil 1 15 oz can black beans with…
  • Today I picked up So Delicious brand culinary coconut milk. Just 2gm carbs but 14 gm fat /serving. I mixed 100ml with 8oz of unsweetened chocolate almond milk and 5 drops of stevia. It was incredible.
  • I love this thread! It's so much fun to read about the wonderful things that people are experiencing. I have a happy moment to share. I got home last night and my husband had made dinner, which he has been doing more regularly lately  He said "I cooked the chicken thighs in coconut oil with a little Mrs. Dash but I…

  • I grew up with my Dad doing yard work or other outdoor activities while shirtless if he felt it was too warm for a shirt. He is 64 now and still spends a lot of time without a shirt. My Dad has always been active but hasn't had an athletic build since I was very young. I appreciate that he has always been comfortable with…
  • Yum, yum!!
  • I've moved into a more simple plan for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is the only time I deviate much but that is because I am eating with my hubby and he likes the variety. Even then I try to keep it fairly simple.
  • I love the Monistat Anti - chafing gel. It works wonders.
  • I'm not sure if you can get them in Canada but I like Goya or Mac brands. The Goya ones are available at most large grocery stores in my area, in CT
  • I had a slip yesterday. It started with some fruit, not a problem, but then I added 2 cookies to my plate. That is where we have an issue. Not only because I went over my carbs for the day but also because I have a gluten allergy and really should not be eating those cookies. Today I have heart burn and 'tummy troubles'. I…
  • While never diagnosed I believe I also have binge eating disorder. I have always struggled with hiding food. I could easily stop at 2 different fast food restaurants and get meals to eat while I was out of the house, then go home and eat a full meal with my family. That's just one of many examples. I've also used laxatives…
