I like it. I like having a huge meal at the end of the day. And not eating in the morning keeps me from grazing all day. I felt more focused and energized. Only problem was I had a hard time getting my protein goal within the short window. (16:8) Now I just have protein powder in the mornings and it similarly doesn't…

Stay hydrated! I find my face is very capable of holding excess water. Staying on top of water consumption keeps my face looking slimmer. And, I'm gonna get eye rolls for this lol, but if you wanna give it a shot, Google "face yoga exercises" I know a couple models that do these things to help the appearance of high…

I generally also agree with this. I can't help but slightly assume they don't have other hobbies. But I'm also not attracted to washboard abs so \(^^) /

I want a cute short haircut! I know I won't feel confident enough to rock one though until I reach my goal..

I also obsess more over my weight after taking control of it. Weird.

I love food. Never moved. ..... I still love food. But I've found a balance and realize food tastes so much better when you're not eating too much of it. Oh. And I sometimes move lol (cardio at least 1x a week and weights 2-3 times a week)

tea, sometimes protein powder ~ 120cal

I like Optimum Nutrition gold standard. Tons of flavors, mixes well even without a blender or shaker, and it's not as expensive as some others. 120cal/24g protein a scoop Favorite flavors: rocky road, cake batter.

I found consuming too many artificial sweeteners made my cravings a lot worse. I just let myself have a bite or 2 of something sweet if I really, really want it.

I really like Erythritol. It's pretty natural, and tastes closest to sugar to me. I believe it also has a lower GI than other subs. It's just not as easy to find....but it's on Amazon. I find stevia has a bitterness I can't get past in drinks.

I think it's also an ethics thing for some people (iex factory farming). Or a taste thing, or a nutritional needs thing. I limit my cow milk consumption to hot drinks (almond, etc milks taste weird to me when hot), but drink almond/coconut for cold drinks and plain because it lets me minimize my support for factory farms,…

I'm a true sugar addict. Not so much for sodas and such, but I could eat cookies and chocolate all day. I'm limiting carbs right now for the sake of breaking the addiction, actually. Sipping on lightly sweetened hot tea helps me quite a bit. There's a lot of great dessert teas out there. I have a creme brulee, apple pie,…

This post was very, very nostalgic.

I ate a 1/3 of my brother's birthday cake in one day. German chocolate from a great local bakery. Trimmed in chocolate ganache. But it was too good. Tooooo good. ETA: Oh, I also ate my entire mini box of gifted valentine's chocolate (Russell Stover) in 1 sitting, but I wasn't even mad.

I ask myself how I'll feel after I'm done eating said thing. I try to remember how good I feel when I so exercise (make a voluntary mental note after every time you exercise of how good you feel--it sounds stupid, but it will help over time when this happens)

I recently also got out of a rut of eating bad/not exercising that lasted about a month I understand how hard it can be to break the cycle. My strategy is a little different from everyone else's here, but I need the cold shock of something strict when I fall into the dark hole..."anything in moderation" is too much freedom…

This thread makes me happy.

Persimmons are so good. ^ Also, anyone tried Sitaphal ? I think it's called a custard apple in english... Had them in India--very sweet fruit.

I always have a "treat" every night! Subconciously my meals tend to be slightly smaller/less calorie-dense, so I can bank treat calories. I really enjoy taking my time to have tea + a small dessert. Sometimes it's 2 oreos (so relevant here....), or a small cake or madeleine. Or a few bites of something more indulgent (iex:…

I also found that part kinda.....worth ignoring -.-

+1 This seriously can make an incredibly decadent tasting dessert. My favorite is adding cocoa powder--end ups like a frosty. Can even throw in some protein powder.

I'm the same. Most of my other junky cravings have died long ago with healthy eating, but SWEETS.....oh, my body still loves sweets. For me, the sweet cravings never subsided like people say. I just plan calories for dessert every day after dinner. Sometimes it's healthy, sometimes it's not. I see nothing wrong with having…

Thank you for that explanation! I really appreciate it....no one's ever explained lifting in that sort of context. Makes sense though. Hm...we do have a dusty bow flex machine (those home-gym workout machines with the rod-type adjustable weights) that has a pull down bar. I suppose I can utilize that? I never know how much…

fitnessblender.com has some bodyweight strength videos. They also have low impact workouts for people with knee issues. For the dumbell ones, they also say you can creative at home and create your own weights--large soup cans, milk jugs of water, bags of books, etc. This will allow you more options.

Tried it out of curiosity (the science/studies behind it are interesting). For about 2 months. Agree it works, I lost a lot of weight, but it's not for me. I never felt completely satisfied being without the things I really like...bread, dessert, a lot of fruit.

Yes. It's not even a matter of incorporating it into a maintenance day--I could if I wanted-- I just want to stuff my face like a sinful glutton sometimes. I try to remember how I'll feel afterwards if I go through though. I usually have a day like this every once in a couple months. I think it resets a mental diet thing…
