You can do it!

" I won't lie, being in the "mood" is/can make hardwork so much fun, but my "moods" tend to be fickle at best and leans toward the slothful/lazy/procrastinating side" This struck a cord with me, thanks for sharing.

All these tools are effective--but if you try to do everything perfectly you will likely burn out. Do what works for you-- down the road if you need to tighten things up you will have lots of options!

Down 30 from starting mid July. Would love to be down another 30 by this July

I love that I am not the only one jogging in circles around my basement to get my steps in! I tell myself it's not any sillier than walking on a treadmill

Thank you for the inspiration!

Wow!! How long have you been working on this? Xproofx--you made me laugh with your comment about the only diet you were on was buying a bigger shirt. I've been on that on before too! Great job!

I'm one of those with the go switch when I start on the sweets. After 7 days of maintenance and a 0.4 pound gain I am going back to the 1 pound a week club with relief!

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread. It’s nice to see other folks are doing a temporary maintenance too. I started 2 days ago with calories set at maintenance and waffle between wanting to eat the world and stick to the mostly healthy stuff I’ve been eating. So far I’ve stayed in range. Planning to take 10-14 days…

You have accomplished something truly amazing. I know we all feel like what we have isn’t good enough ay times but my gosh what a transformation!!!!! Maybe your next goal could be something fitness related since you are getting so close to goal weight??

I would give it a couple more years, you are 18 months out from childbirth, with a recent big weight loss. Also I assume you are on the younger side since you just had a baby so your skin has more of a chance to shrink. I think with the weight training you are doing you will see a lot of improvement in the next 2 years. I…

Congratulations on looking fabulous but especially on playing the long game! I’m impressed with your yearlong effort and the fact that you kept with it!!

You look fabulous!

I have found squats to be more effective than anything else including crunches and Pilates for my middle. Check out the strong lifts program. It is fairly straightforward and very doable

Put my request to join in today!

I love my Happy Scale app. It really keeps me from the scale crazies
-
Wow, what tenacity you have! Awesome long game, you look fabulous and so confident.

I agree, enjoy yourself on your travels, wear clothes that are comfortable and don't punish you, take lots of walks and see all the sights...then come back renewed and get serious.
-
It does get easier, stick with it--my 3rd time around so I am being very thoughtful about what went wrong the last 2 rounds--I have been lurking on the maintenance thread for good ideas.

Realizing fruit tastes really good, and is also satisfying! I know that should be a no brainer, but it wasn't!

For me diet drinks make me crave sweet things. I would also get a headache within 10 minutes of drinking Diet Coke--I loved that stuff. Despite the headaches for negative feedback it took me 6 months to finally quit drinking it. Now I drink Lacroix on occasion and lots of water and unsweet tea. Don't miss it.

Cleaned out my closet, got rid of a bunch of too big or not flattering clothes-- some to donation bin, some to family. Closet looks better and I feel lighter!

Thanks for your encouragement! I wasn't sure there was going to be much of a difference until I put some side by side selfies up, it encourages me to see everyone's success and I'm so glad to be getting healthier.

Down 25 of 90 for goal, over 5 months, slow and steady to win the race.

"I am a better person who still have flaws. Weightloss does not fix everything, actually it exposes the cracks of things that was already broken. Do not let this deter you from your weight loss journey." I love this! Thanks for sharing your story.

Welcome back, add me if you like. You can do it

Wow! You look like a totally different person and I bet you feel like one too! Thank you for sharing.

I am a doctor and would be elated with your loss of 8 pounds in a month. So few patients will actually follow advice to lose weight. The only reason I can think of for his response is that he has some investment in the surgery or is just disillusioned from seeing so many people fail at weight loss. Keep up the good work,…

I agree with the above posts, it really does get easier. The thing that has helped me the most is to be nonjudgemental but observant of how foods affect me. The MFP diary has been invaluable for this. I find that if I start the day off with even a small amount of sugar--in my case 1 tsp of honey and milk in my tea, I will…

Whoops I wasn't on the last page when I wrote my post--agreeing with new lifestyle's post!
