It is being calorie deficient that will lose weight and not the time of day you eat. I have lost 15 lbs in 11 weeks. I have a small breakfast, might skip lunch or have fruit and have a large evening meal (meat n 2 veg plus pudding). Don't usually need supper or munch as I feel full and satisfied. Tonight I am having beef,…

I lose around a 1 lb a week keeping within my calorie goal. I eat well and don't go hungry. I'm also pretty active, run, cycle, walk. I log my exercise but don't eat extra calories. I don't feel I could and continue losing weight. I have lost 15 lbs in around 11 weeks so feel I am doing it right for me. However, I agree,…

I think the answer for me is both. Sometimes on a rest day or later on in a run day, I get an energy surge and my legs want to move. At other times, just climb back into a cosy bed and sleep. Strange mixture of both.

Funny u should ask! I am doing C25K and after a run this morning and then walk into town and back, I required a power nap in my bed with the electric blanket on. I try not to do it in the day but definitely makes me tired - I mainly run right now, but also cycle and walk but I need my rest LOL!

Had been told w6r1 could b harder than expected so drank plenty before setting off in new running shoes. Chose a reasonably level space and ran at a good pace. Had to b best run so far: 5+8+5 runs, felt like a real runner today! Looking forward to next challenge now!!

5 minutes in, my brain tells me to walk, it is serious too, try to ignore it! Never mind though, u r active and will have a try again!!
-
You are a marvellous role model, looking fantastic!
-
I will send u a friend request, happy to chat anytime! I am starting week 6 on Monday!!
-
You are funny! I have registered, mhave a wristband with my barcode on it, just my old body but when I complete C25K (in 3 weeks) - can u actually believe that
-
I just did w5r3 and I had been so scared of it too. It was pretty hard but my breathing and pace r fine, so calves burning on and off is annoying and brain keeps telling me to stop. Think of the programme so far, it has not let us down. If you are determined to do it you will. By the time you can run 20, you can do…

Imagine if there were a zombie apocalypse, we could just run through the lot of them LOL! It feels great to get started and at the beginning, small steps seem like big ones but trust the programme. There are lots of people who were non runners who are plodding through the programme and we can't believe we can do it. Seems…

Me too, yesterday, I was on a track in an industrial estate and there was a wooded area on my right and saw a flash of green, chunky little fella, green woodpecker - snap LOL!
-
I am just sticking to the weekly C25K plan and completed week 5 so on to week 6! I have no idea the distance I am covering because I just listen to the podcast and struggle through by limiting my speed and focussing on breathing. I have registered for Parkrun but know I am not ready for it yet. I would love to know how far…

I was dreading week 5, day 3 but did days 1 and 2 ok so thought I would go for it! 20 minutes running, are u kidding? Five minutes in, my brain told me to stop and walk but I argued back and battled through burning calf muscles, reasoning that won't kill me and thinking that I need to be able to tell people I did it! Final…

Try running really slowly and focus on breathing in and out deeply and slowly, works for me, breathing and heart rate fine, just my legs hurting!! Julie

I am on week 5 of C25K and it is totally free with downloadable podcasts, so you can run inside on a treadmill or outside anywhere.
-
I think doing 5K in 30 mins would be a fantastic goal but anything up to 45 mins we be great and you did 10 k in a respectable time. It we depend on the reason u r running. I am 51 and building my fitness from scratch, right now if I ran 5k I would b very pleased no matter what the time. It would also depend on the type of…
-
Wow you did it, well done! Week 5 seems a turning point into running longer, if I can do it, my foot will b on the ladder LOL! Day 1 is my focus right now, I know I did 2 x 5 mins on week 4, so can do 3 x 5 mins! Taking exTra rest with 2 days off over weekend and no sneaky bike riding! If my legs seem ok after Monday I…

Thanks everyone! I am unsure about running for 20 minutes on week 5 but feel ready for day1 which is 3 x 5 minute runs. I will do day 1 and then decide. Repeating a week is better than having to stop due to an injury though. After week 4, my knees are stiff and have an ache in my thigh too so good I have 2 days to rest so…
-
How do you feel, are your knees sore? I run three times a week (C25K) and have rest days in between but I exercise every day (walking or cycling). If I feel I need a rest day, just do it, sort of listen to my own body but still push myself. No feel exercise is beneficial for physical and mental health so want to move most…
-
I run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (week 4, day 2 just done) but must admit I have rest days if my knees are sore but otherwise, I want to do other stuff (walking, cycling) so I exercise most days and haven't had injury because I keep my running to set days. Do u think that is ok? I keep to my daily calories but…

I agree that the calorie deficit comes first as this is going to lose weight even with no exercise. However, if you want to exercise, I started with low impact (free) moving such as walking. You can get apps that will track how far you go, how long you walked and your speed too. Maybe start with 2-3 times a week x 30…
-
I hated exercise for many years and starting most forms of moving will not appeal to your brain because it is something new! I started about 4 months ago to try out moving around and walking seemed the best option so just left the car at home and walked instead! It is more fun when u see how many calories u burned or how…

I eat my daily calorie goal (currently 1400) and exercise every day but never eat extra for calories burned. Lost 13 lbs in 8 weeks, happy with that and I don't deprive myself and feel fitter and healthier than ever. 28 lbs still to lose. Feel not eating them back is right for me
-
I don't eat mine back and stick to my daily calories as I want to lose 1-3 lbs a week. I feel satisfied and eat filling food (salad and vegetables) so I feel if I burn through extra activity, it is strengthening my ability to move towards my goal. If I was losing more than 2 lb I would eat more. I need to see where u can…
-
You did the right thing. It was two friends having a private chat. If they had looked at you and invited your thoughts, u could have joined in. Just b satisfied that u know a better way for u xx
-
I stick with my daily calories. I exercise every day but do not eat back burnt calories. I lose weight as I am calorie deficient in my diet. I add to this by burning calories, also develop healthier heart, lungs n muscles at the same time. Exercise stimulates feel good chemicals so I feel energetic and happier. Win, win!
-
Definitely bacon, sausage, tinned tomato, mushroom, egg and bread. After that, I will need to b very careful!!
-
It can't b true! I do 30 mins interval training and it adds up to 180 calories! If it's accurate, I'm taking up fishing
-
No to lunch so I can have toad in the hole and mash for dinner - good trade!!
