  • I look up the calories and fat in a small movie popcorn and I will probably forego it. I'm thinking about picking up some butter free popcorn from the grocery store.
  • Happy Friday everyone! Any plans for the weekend? I plan on taking two barre classes and one more days of weights this weekend. My nutrition has been good but it's the TOM. We're going to the movies tonight and I am fantasizing about popcorn right now.
  • Hello! Please feel free to add me. I was diagnosed at 20 (I will be 31 next month) but never really took it seriously until the last few years. I have lost 46 pounds since June and am working on the last 20ish now. I haven't taken any of the medications but I am considering starting to manage my elevated testosterone…
  • I also have an issue with portion control on items that I really love. I don't put them in my diet during the week and when I decide I am going to enjoy myself, then I usually don't count calories. I try to be mindful of my food choices on a treat day but overall, I just have what I want. I eat pretty much the same thing…
  • So during regular days I eat approximately 1500 calories per day. On my reset day I eat about 2000-2500 approximately. I increase both protein and complex carbs as bit, as too much fat increase upsets my stomach. On the reset day it is a sudden increase, so you go back to 1500 calories the very next day. I am following the…
  • @jmzz1 - did you have your testosterone checked? I am like you - all of my lab work is normal when it comes to insulin resistance. The only out of whack level I have is testosterone. My doctor suggested that metformin can still help me with this, so with trepidation, I am going to start with a mild dose of it. In regard to…
  • We went out for dinner last night with friends and I enjoyed myself. I didn't go crazy but I was satisfied. Back on track today. I am hoping to get into the 170s by the end of the month.
  • I have a three day weekend for the MLK holiday and I want to get caught up on some work that I didn't do while I was sick. I went to a barre class yesterday morning and then hubby and I saw Revenant. I spent the rest of the day under a blanket on the couch. I think it's this weather - the gray gets to me. I like it better…
  • I think I finally slept well last night. I woke up way before my alarm but I feel rested. My weight was down this morning too. I am soooo glad it's Friday! @2020pinktogo - I totally understand what you mean. My weight loss has gotten the idea of a boob job in my head because they aren't staying where they are supposed to…
  • I am thankful it is almost the weekend...and a three day weekend at that. I am over my cold but I have a lot of fatigue right now, which is probably left over from being sick and/or a side effect of the progesterone. My weight is stuck but I am sure it will drop off, as I am keeping my nutrition in check. I did a barre…
  • I also have PCOS and don't have many symptoms except overweight/obese and no periods. My blood work looks good so I am not IR. I am very frustrated with not having a regular cycle. I don't get a period without progesterone or being on the pill, which I stopped taking. I don't want to take Metformin because I don't see why…
  • Happy Wednesday! I made it through a barre class yesterday afternoon and I felt so ungraceful at first. Being out for a week, I feel like I am starting over. I had taken three classes before this and had the routine and moves down a bit. I didn't feel like that yesterday. I do know that I am not entirely better yet so I…
  • After a week of not exercising, I am going to take a barre class this afternoon. I can definitely tell that I haven't exercised in awhile...my mind is all over the place and I'm not sleeping very well. The physical activity usually keeps me grounded. I was going to jump right back into my routine of being at the gym early…
  • We put our holiday stuff away this past Saturday and it was kind of sad. Back to regular life, as usual. Usually, January drags for me but I can't believe it's already the 11th. I have a lot to accomplish this month at work so I feel like the clock is ticking.
  • I am back at work today after being out since Wednesday. Apparently my students forgot how the class rules in my absence and were banshees while my assistant and I were out. Not how I wanted to start my Monday. Oh well. I am down three pounds this past week and I look forward to getting some exercise this week and helping…
  • It's day four in captivity...er, I mean being home sick...and I am ready to flee the compound I think. I don't have enough energy to go work out yet but I am hoping tomorrow I can participate in a barre class. I do need to get out of the house today so I am thinking of getting bundled up and having hubby take me to a…
  • @Living360 - I picked up Heidi and Chris Powell's new book, Extreme Transformation, to see if I can jump start getting rid of those last 20-something pounds. It's pretty simple to follow and includes great recipes. Essentially, you eat five meals a day, no more no less. The first four days of the cycle you do high carb for…
  • @JMarcella57 - way to go! I bet it was an awesome feeling to get to the top of that mountain. @livingyoung28 - I really don't think there is anything more simply delicious than bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Our waist lines would disagree but it doesn't get much better than that dance of flavors. :)…
  • Hope sick from work for the second day in a row. I feel restless but I know I need to rest. I was able to get some decent sleep last night with the help of a sleep aide. Also, I am down another 1.6 pounds today!
  • I had my week planned out and was ready to take on the New Year. Now, I have a chest cold. It figures I would catch something from my students as soon as I came back. I was hoping I was able to stave it off with a whole bunch of zinc and fluids. But I didn't. Now I am home sick today and probably tomorrow. Ugh. On the plus…
  • I like the idea of no drinking on school nights but in theory, I think I end up spending the rest of the week working off the damage I did over the weekend. Of course, if it was just one or two glasses of wine, it wouldn't be so bad. But it rarely is.
  • @Somebody_Loved - I have stopped my wine club membership for six months. I have belonged to the same wine club for over 4 years and I love going for pick up times. It's usually a treat of mine. But when I am at home, I will pour myself a big glass or two and oftentimes, will keep going. My husband isn't a heavy drinker so…
  • This thread is totally speaking to me. I have had issues with binge (wine) drinking on and off for years. I am pretty sure that is one of the main factors that contributed to a huge weight gain over a few years. I lost 42 pounds in the last six months of 2015 but my losses have stagnated because I started drinking again. I…
  • I don't do Pure Barre but I recently started taking classes at Barre3. It's very enjoyable and am adding it in to my weight lifting regimen because it helps stretch so much. I have been dealing with hip pain from tight muscles and this seems to be helping. I signed up for their month long challenge.
  • How does one end up in the hospital for constipation? More water and fiber, stat!
  • My goal this week is to be active every day, in some form. I have my trainer twice this week but will also be going on my own. I am still thinking about joining the barre program and challenge and take the class in the evenings a few nights a week. I am also going to try "carb cycling" to see if that makes a dent in my…
  • @JMarcella57 - that's a great idea, to see it as a hill. I am trying to see my last 25 pounds or so as a hill too. I am hoping to be at my goal weight by my third wedding anniversary, on June 30. We're going to see my in-laws in India in March and I would love to be at least 10 pounds slimmer by then.
  • @NewOR2015 - keep it up! The last couple of days have been over my calories as well because we have been out socializing with friends and relatives. Thankfully we're done with that and I can get back to my usual routine...the one that has proven to work for me for the last 6+ months. @livingyoung28 - so inspirational! I…
  • Please add me as well! I won one of the last challenges I did and would love to have a motivating group to help keep me going. :)
  • @NewOR2015 - way to go on the loss! That's fantastic! I remember when I hit ONEderland earlier this fall...I hadn't been there in so long. That day I made hubby take me to Nordstrom to buy a new nightgown as a reward because mine was falling off me. As for New Years' Eve, we're catching a late afternoon movie and then an…
