  • I gave up alcohol for good and decided I am going to start training for a power-lifting competition. My trainer says I could be ready by the end of the year. My squats were on point this morning!
  • Hello everyone! I am back from my trip. I have been back since Friday and I am trying to return to the swing of things. We're also moving to a new place this week, so along with jet lag, this is already a tiring week. I will be taking a big nap when I get home from work today. I didn't work out while I was gone and I can…
  • I am heading to India tomorrow! I have my workout stuff packed and I plan on taking advantage of the gym at my in-law's new apartment community. Take care everyone!
  • Thanks everyone but I decided to pass on this interview. I wasn't too excited about the district and the compensation, plus I just have too much to do before I leave for India on Monday. I did, however, have a great phone interview yesterday with another school district that I am very excited about. They have a wonderful…
  • I decided to go for it, after talking to my principal and making sure she was okay with both me and my colleague being out. I have a lot to do between now and Monday. I even have a good interview for a Vice Principal position on Friday afternoon!
  • I am debating leaving for India earlier than expected because I am in serious need of a vacation. I was going to leave next Thursday but I might leave this coming Monday instead. My husband and mom think I should. I am not sure about being gone from work that long - it would be 9 school days. My colleague whom I work…
  • I was going to ask how everyone's "granny fanny" was doing. :) I have upped exercises focused on my glutes and I can definitely feel a difference. I am sure I will start to see my results soon. I was checking myself in the dressing room mirror on Saturday and was happy with what I saw.
  • @JMarcella57 - We're not moving to India but we are going for 2-3 weeks; however, right when we get back, we're moving to a new condo that is closer to my work. We have a lot to do between now and when we leave. Ideally, I'd like to have our current apartment packed so we can just move things when we return on April 1.…
  • After an indulgent Oscar Sunday, I am back on track. I took Monday off to rest/clean up from our party that we had on Sunday night. My eating and drinking was way off but I enjoyed myself. I skipped the gym on Monday but made it in this morning for a good workout session. My goal this week is to get in five days of…
  • @2020pinktogo - Oh I am definitely planning on doing that. He says he has been getting rid of stuff but not at the pace that I want him to. I will be de-cluttering closets and the kitchen. He is very sentimental about things, especially those things that he brought with him from India for the first time 10 years ago.
  • Happy Friday, everyone! This week has gone pretty well for me. I made it to the gym all five days of the work week - woohoo! I have also changed my nutrition plan a bit and it seems to make a difference in terms of energy. On days that I lift weights, I eat high carb. On days that I do just cardio or rest, I do low carb.…
  • I tend to eat the same things during the week because it's easy and I know it works. I absolutely love good food but during the week, it's just fuel for me. I log about 98% of what I eat so I am working on make sure I log everything, regardless of if it makes me go over my calories...trying to held myself more accountable.…
  • What are your plans for the weekend? I feel like hibernating this weekend but hubby and I both agree we need to get outdoors and enjoy ourselves and some sunshine. I will going to the gym tomorrow, since I skipped it today. I will probably do a barre class on Sunday mornings, as those always make me feel good. We probably…

  • Squats are a great exercise to add to any fitness regimen. I do different variations of squats and my booty has definitely appreciated the extra attention. No granny fanny for me! :)
  • I had that same feeling when I bought a size 12 on Sunday. It is actually a little baggy so I am sure a size 10 isn't too far off. Keep up the good work everyone!
  • I had the opposite problem when it came to clothes. Because I wasn't happy with my looks before, I spent A LOT of money on clothes to make myself look beautiful. Way more than I should have because now I have a closet full of clothes that don't fit anymore (thankfully) and I have a few go to items that I can wear for now.…
  • I am happy to report that after looking at only one condo, my husband and I found a place to move to in April after we get back from India. It's perfect for us and is less expensive and bigger than our current place. It's in the same town as I work, too. This has taken a great deal of pressure off of us. I can now enjoy my…
  • Thank you for the kind words everyone. I am taking it one day at a time and finding that this brings me more peace. I have a lot of good things going on my life right now, so I am trying to focus on that.
  • @Living360 - thank you for checking in on me. I am trying to stay positive and keep moving forward amidst all of the stress that is in my life right now. My husband and I are at odds on the decision to have children. He wants them, I don't. Not sure where we're going from here and it's giving me anxiety. We're going to see…
  • I turn 31 a week from today and I am in a funk. My husband and I had a rough weekend emotionally and mentally and I just feel drained. I did go to my trainer this morning and I am keeping my nutrition on track. I am trying to stay focused on the present moment and not let my mental state bring me down.
  • I didn't accomplish my fitness goals this week but I am okay with that. This week has kind of been off for me. The two year death anniversary of my grandmother was on Tuesday. I was very close to her and miss her a lot. I didn't think it would affect me so much but my energy has just been off this week. I am just feeling…
  • The scale is just a numbers game...what really matters is how you feel and the inches you are losing. My scale goes back and forth around the same set of numbers but I can see a lot of difference in how lean my body is becoming and how my clothes fit.
  • @NewOR2015 - thank you for bringing that up. Yes, it is very important that we make heart healthy choices, as heart attacks and heart disease often sneak up on women. My father, who is 50, had a quintuple bypass at the end of May...he also has hypertension and diabetes. Heart disease runs in my family, as does diabetes,…
  • Overall, January went well for me. I dropped a few pounds and seem to have found a rhythm for my nutrition and eating. My goal this month is get under 180 pounds (181.6 right now) and go to the gym consistently during the week as well as participate in one barre class per week, probably on the weekend. I accomplished my…
  • Ah, jury duty. My hubby got his green card in 2014 and had jury duty for the first time last week. He was disappointed he didn't get called to serve. As for hair, in a perfect world, I would have long, luscious locks...but I was born with thin, fine hair. I keep it medium length with layers to make it look thicker. If you…
  • On track is good...mine is the same. I got up early, went to the gym for cardio, and am on track with my food. I am pretty tired today, though. I don't think I sleep very well with my hubby in the bed. Occasionally I have him sleep in the guest room just because I am such a light sleeper.
  • I had a good workout this morning and I feel better emotionally/mentally. I am ready to take on the rest of January. I can't believe this month is almost over! My goal this week is to continue to keep my nutrition in check and am hoping to win two DietBets that I am in right now that end on the 1st. I am swapping two of my…
  • I think I did pretty well this month and I am looking forward to finishing out the month strong. I am less than two pounds away from being in the "overweight" category. I haven't been there in I don't know how long. I am trying not to beat myself up too much from indulging yesterday. I am meal prepping today and getting my…
  • Today I threw a tantrum like a hangry toddler. I am tired of meal prepping, calorie counting, macro counting, weighing, measuring, logging...you get it. I want eggs benedict, mimosas, and salt. It's my TOM and I.am.done. So I am listening to my body and allowing myself what I want. No excuses, no bargaining, I just am.…
