  • I have an Omron body comp scale but we all know it's not accurate. It says my BF% is about 17% but that could also just mean 20%. My abs aren't visible and they say that some people should start seeing them at 20%. It might be because I'm Apple shaped with a very small bust...think flat. As a result most of my fat is…
  • I took Chinese dance..traditional and folk as a teenager until my mid twenties. I just decided to go back to it after an 8 year hiatus. From time to time I also take hip hop for a more intense workout. We don't partner in either class usually. I wouldn't mind learning swing but I'm pretty tall so finding a partner won't be…
  • I'm NY as well. NYC.
  • I don't have it but I recently met someone who does. He's a 30yo veteran with PTSD but he isn't currently setting a therapist and hasn't talked to a professional about it. I'm not sure how you should address it but I guess a good way would be to look at whatever is causing you stress. As for my friend....I doubt there much…
  • Your old scale doesn't sound like it was too accurate. In the end it's a number and a way to track trending changes. Using an inaccurate measuring tool isn't going to help. Take the hit and hopefully your new scale is consistent and shows you the trending change in your weight.
  • This may be of interest, There's a new BMI calculator that takes the changes in height into consideration. https://people.maths.ox.ac.uk/trefethen/bmi.html Still the BMI standards shouldn't really be used a be all end all standard.
  • Aaaaah. That's a healthier and more realistic expectation. If you're losing ten a month you'll probably hit your goal within the year. Slow and steady is the best course. It's easier on your body and means there's more time to let your skin adjust.
  • It could be healthy if you're built for that weight, i.e. tiny bones and no boobs/butt. However if someone isn't built for it, it's not healthy. I already mentioned it before but the OP chose to ignore post so I doubt she'll answer this question Most likely when she gets closer to her goal weight, she might reevaluate what…
  • Being able to do something physically that you weren't able to do before. It could be strength, endurance and stamina related. Feeling more energetic...basically anything that you can't measure with a scale.
  • I feel like it's fine to want to get in shape faster because most ppl like instant gratification. From what I've noticed with ppl losing weight they usually start with smaller goals and a step by step approach. For example if they want to lose as much as you do they will set multiple milestone goals to help. That way you…
  • Whoops meant to say my low measurements were 31.5 bust. Not 30.5. It never changes.
  • I think it's dangerous to generalize anything. Ppl of all heights can have small or large frames/skeletal structure. Usually the frame just refers to width of your frame. Not height. I'm a little but of an outlier. First off I'm Asian which means I'm more prone to having a tiny frame (tiny. Not just small) and an Apple…
  • Do you have any recommendations on how to track/measure your body composition?
  • Yes that's what I mean when i say I'm skinny fat! My body composition is high in fat. However if you look at me i look skinny with clothes on. I guess the only thing i can do is ignore BMI. I'm looking into a body composition scale. I know they aren't accurate but i can least see the trending change in body composition I…
  • I try to enter my high weight for day into the my fitness pal app every day. I think normally it just accepts weight, but for me there's a pop up that asks if I'm sure that's my weight and when I hit yes, i get taken to anB extra screen first that states that I'm below 18.5I and studies have shown that BMIs below 17.5 is…
