(at least a bit of) fat gain will be inevitable, if you will eat in a caloric surplus. You can minimize that by maintaining a smaller extra, e.g. 2-300 cals over maintenance. There is only so much muscle growth potential, so eating much more will not translate into putting much more lean mass on. Good luck!

The 30-day free trial states clearly that *you* need to cancel it if you decide not to go for Premium. This is pretty standard. The only trick was putting customers to actually read what's written and not press „I Agree” in like 0.1 seconds.

Love Actually. And of course, Die Hard!

I log whenever, both on the computer as well. As the app. Breakfast is an easy log and I do it right after. Lunch I'm either logging as I weigh when I make my own, or logging while I'm in the chekkout queue at the supermarket (they have weighed cooked meals so it's easy). For dinner I usually pre-log with macros in mind…

Not at the cost of your health you don't. Good health is a precious freebie for the ones that have it and can enjoy it, so please don't mistreat it. Also 35 lbs by 31st December 2018 would roughly mean a 3,150 cal deficit per day so unless you plan on eating water with a side of water, running like 3 hours straight each…

A woman of fine taste! Fernet, Campari or Unicum are my nightcap when I'm having one, and wine is... wine! Also, I take coffee with milk lately (espresso machine with cappuccino foamer at the office...), I have the occasional shake which I also see as liquid cals, and then there's wine, liquor, beer. No fruit juice, no ice…

Very good point, Ann!

I find it so strange that one could dislike all vegetables. Please don't get me wrong, OP - I totally believe you. But for me there are so many totally different tastes in that food group (leafy greens, crucifers, marrows, roots, fungi, not to mention the „fruit vegetables” like avocados and tomatoes)... multiplied by a…

I saw my first visible vein on my shoulder in spite of being in a gaining period. And my one arm dumbbell row 1RM is now 50 lbs. 50! I'm pretty stoked about that. So naturally I have to boast

I'm not clear on what your goals are - do you want to lose weight? Build muscle? Whatever you aim for, as other posters said above, there are cheaper and more sustainable ways of (self)managing your diet. * Find out my TDEE - total daily energy expenditure * Based on my goals, establish the amount of calories I need to eat…

^ the thread shared by Tavistock is THE resource to be read when trying to identify a programme  My advice would be to re-focus on your strength training programme of choice (can be 3x full body, or an upper-lower split, or a push/pull/legs split, whatever fits you and your current abilities) and leave cardio as a…

First off, congratulations on your determination and results with weight loss! 7.5 - 10 hrs of training per week is quite a lot! Do you follow a specific routine /programme? If so, which? Cutting out sweets is not necessary. Just make sure you get sufficient protein and fat in, fill the rest with carbs. For a lean bulk you…

A few thoughts. I've been reading so much about motivation, and lack thereof around here. Motivation is highly overrated. If we were to run on motivation strictly, the vast majority would be unemployed, unshaved, binging Netflix and icecream at noon... probably. I know my house would be a mess. I would be living in utter…

I also thought at some point that I can't control myself around carbs. Turns out, it's a question of discipline... as everything else in life that is not instant gratification. Best of luck on your journey. There are mixed opinions about keto here, and restrictive diets are really not a silver bullet but rather a more…

Yes, you will lose weight in a caloric deficit, regardless of exercise. But as the posters before have mentioned, exercising is highly beneficial for overall health. It assists your weightloss from numerous standpoints - including minimizing the loose (sic) skin problem.

First, congratulations on your loss. That's a hell of a number off the scale! Second, I get the fear. It used to numb my brain when approaching maintenance. What if I gain? Everyone's witnessing a small bump in weight when they up their calories, what if I can't handle that? So I gradually increased my calories. Slowly.…

Thank you! It's not that much yet and I am still into beginner territory... but I guess that's really a good thing, because things are continuing to progress fast. Even with running my own adaptation of a programme at home.

I'm alive, breathing, and all here mentally. I have a family, and the same applies to them. I have friends, and they are special people. In a lot of senses, I'm privileged, and I'm aware of it. I'm not bad off, and in full control of my life. There's coldness in this world, and malice, and stupidity, but also so much good…

Yep, using dumbbells definitely feels more natural and pushes both arms to the same degree. I switched to dumbbells after my barbell mishap and it's way better. Short update on my side:* My slow bulk got a bit too much wind in the sails lately, and with Christmas around the corner I'll slightly reduce the intake (cutting…

Used to have panic attacks in large crowds when I was younger. The kind where your throat was closing. Learned to really detach from that, to start looking at people as just.. Moving obstacles. My way of coping is apparently not to look at people on the street, headphones in. I'm so used to the crowds now it's like…

I just got my first warning! For correcting someone's grammar  I feel all Achievement Unlocked. But also a little like in highschool, when the professors were routinely kicking me out of class for snarky remarks. Which - to be fair - was also feeling like Achievement Unlocked most of the times. So I guess... this is a…
