This is awesome, thank you for posting it!

5'4.5" Had a big whoosh this morning, scale at 127.6 US bottoms size 4, with an occasional 2 Tops S or M (boobies haven't reduced very much, sigh. #2SportsBras4life )

I love broccoli in allllll of the ways. My hubby though, is super-picky, and he loves it roasted with Trader Joe's "21 Season Salute" seasoning. Yum!

I can definitely see it! You're looking great, congrats! Keep up the great dedication.

Wonderful! Lots of dedication and discipline really pays off.

Saving this, sounds so good!

I agree with most of what you've said, but also must point out that sometimes family doesn't teach their children because they simply do not know what they do not know. I'm not comfortable with letting schools and government off the hook. Schools already offer the education in health and/or science classes, I'm just…

Did you mean for that to come off snarky? Really—it is not well understood by many. Is that surprising? Nutritional education (in many US public schools, at least) isn't so great. The percentage of overweight and obese people also sort of points in the direction of it potentially being "a hard concept to follow for some."…

I'm not just saying this because I am a major Monster Truck fan...but, that cake is flippin' awesome!!!

@bcalvanese Fantastic results, congrats on your success! I live close to there! Love that park, especially the woodsy trails. That one, Northampton Park and Tamanend are my favorites.

Hello! Dry. (Many packages will specify dry next to serving size.) Raw. Raw. Favorite scale under $20 with Tare: Ozeri scale on Amazon.

If a mini-segue (which is what this "hoverboard" really is) is so bad, then what about cars? Mopeds? Electric scooters? Motorcycles? Hmm, demonization of powered transportation. Isn't claiming that any of these items being "less conducive to movement" the exact same thing as saying that's an excuse for laziness? Seriously,…

So much this.

I used to work in retail apparel, too, and this is quite true. (Not sure if this part is true, but a designer once told me that mass-produced clothing is usually cut in a stack, which is part of why there can be such a discrepancy between items of the same size, explaining that the fabric on the top of the stack will end…

So, misinformation is disordered? Do you really believe that? Because, if so, you have been misinformed. In which case...

Oops, @janejellyroll beat me to it. Here is a kitchen scale that I really love, though there are many others, too: Ozeri kitchen scale on Amazon

What "tighten up logging" means is using a kitchen scale and weighing every single food item that you eat, (highly recommend weighing in grams rather than ounces) including cooking oils and, of course, all condiments. It also means checking that entries you choose are accurate.

I make that "toss all of the leftover veggies into a pot" soup about once a week and I always looooove it. And yes, I get excited to go shopping for food, too. I end up at the regular grocery store about twice per week, and once every two weeks, I go to one of two really big produce shops and go wild. Shopping in those…

I think the toughest thing for me is probably needing patience, as many others have pointed out. And how plans to go out to eat now (for me) need to involve research and planning. I have come to greatly prefer cooking at home, rather than going out. Thrift stores can be so much fun, and a great way to help out your…

Me too! I love it in so many ways. And it's yummy whether it's the thin ones or the fat ones, or the purple, green or white! Even my vegetable-refusing kid thinks asparagus is surprisingly good!
-
Totally agree with this. That assumption gets made often.
-
@christinev297 Roast it! :D It shrinks up like crazy, and is sooooo delicious!
-
+1 And I regularly eat that much of various veggies as part of a meal, too. Logging all calories, regardless of from which foods is critical if you want to know a reasonably accurate total of your CI. Is it possible to lose weight without knowledge of that total? Yes, but that has solely to do with a deficit still…
-
Yes, counting calories really does work, as long as you count them accurately in order to create a healthy deficit and use accurate calculators to determine your individual needs. Personally, I find it much simpler than WW's "points" system. I would definitely suggest using MFP rather than WW. :) ETA: By "counting…

Non-scale victory. :)

First of all, you are fantastic and you've made such great progress! Maybe have a heart-to-heart with your parents, I have a feeling they'll feel more proud of you than you realize, which can go a long way in being supportive. Eat what and how you want to eat, everyone around you will probably fall into place. And, if they…

Someone needs to set this to the tune of "12 Days of Christmas." :D Congrats on the 20 lbs lost!!
-
I would suggest not avoiding anything that you like. As far as portions go, try to pay attention to when you feel satisfied. Savor your favorites and have a lovely day!

Edit: Oops, posted on wrong thread!!

Yes! Just for a few days, now. It seems to default to the first unit of measure in the drop-down list, even if you first select a different one. Editing it works, though. So wonky.
