I don't even think it would be possible for me. Plus, honeycrisp apples are happening now, so so good.

For me, it was the realization of this is not a "can I?" thing, this is an "I will" thing.

This is fantastic and super helpful, as was your earlier one. Thank you for posting these!

Ahaha!!! The Red Dinner...

You are not alone, a lot of us have felt similar despair and frustration. The fact that you're on MFP is a great place to start. I agree with the above poster who suggested filling out your profile and setting your goal. It can be very intimidating to look at an end/near-end goal, so maybe try small things at first? People…

Adzuki bean spaghetti with baked teriyaki tofu, mushrooms and roasted broccoli, tossed with soy sauce and ginger.

It seems like you are really upset, (dunno, I might be wrong?) have you considered maybe having a personal conversation with whomever you're referring to? Maybe something could be cleared up that way. Text-based communication can sooooo easily be misconstrued. Sometimes I wish we could all be in a room, face-to-face for a…

I keep seeing those coloring books, they're so pretty! Saw one the other day for Game of Thrones, haha! As others have mentioned, I like walking, reading, dancing, bubble bath. Self mani/pedi and/or facial. Even cooking something that will take a really long time has helped me to de-stress. Knitting—even though I'm…

Maybe try emailing the manufacturer? Usually companies have a "contact us" link, and some are pretty good at getting back to you within a decent time frame. I've done this a couple of times for similar reasons and had success.

Same here! On occasion, I'll try to guess a weight and get it right, which absurdly makes me feel like I won a lottery. But without a scale, I know I'd have way more incorrect guesses than good ones. I really love my scale, lol.

I prefer early mornings, it's become something I look forward to, which makes getting up a lot more fun and easy, which will be especially motivating for me as soon as the weather turns super cold. Usually super cold + warm bed = nooooo, I don't want to get up! But, I love the feeling of getting activity in super early in…

It might be, but then again, usually the measuring cup measurement isn't super accurate, which is why grams are listed, too. Someone might really pack in a cup, some might leave the ingredients loose, it can make a huge difference. Most recipes that call for dry ingredients in a measuring cup, when I compare it in grams,…

You could take it to PMs.

I do this exact same thing, which is very filling, easy and so tasty. There are also lots of recipes in which potatoes are a part, but not necessarily the star. Even a simple veggie soup with potatoes in it can really satisfy your craving for savory stuff. My favorite has potatoes, carrots, parsnips, onions, broccoli,…

I'm planning on banking some calories, because my MIL will be bringing a couple of dishes, one of which I know she's arranged with me specifically in mind, so I don't want to whip out a scale and ask her for the exact recipe. The rest, though, I will portion stuff I make in advance (discreetly, so no one is weirded out,…

Ooo McDougall's! Weirdly, that brand also makes a cup that is one serving for the lowered sodium split pea soup, which is pretty tasty for a quick and easy type thing.

Bumping, because this is a fantastic post~

Mmmmmm brussels sprouts! I craved those tonight, too. And broccoli, I was in a serious mood for broccoli. So, I made an Israeli couscous lemon pepper dijon thing with roasted brussels sprouts, steamed broccoli and cherry tomatoes. I ate the entire bowl, definitely be making that again, so easy, quick and delicious!

Unfortunately, I see very similar things happening with people who I know. Although the weird thing is, a lot of them will say that they know that to lose, they need to burn more calories than they consume. Yet somehow, there is a disconnection after that. Sometimes I think it is either a misunderstanding (or lack of…

I'm yet another +1 on this. Weigh/measure/log everything, learned so much just by doing this every day. Good luck and congrats on your fantastic progress so far! :)

I had already sent some in a message. :)

Like OP, I too have a relative/loved one in my life who struggles with morbid obesity and a host of resulting health problems. Behavior-wise, the description of husband and wife in this scenario is very familiar to me. It isn't easy, but it also isn't impossible. Offering support through education, organization and…

My kiddo came home with a pillowcase filled with candy. (So many full-sized candy bars and minis!) There was only one lonely roll of Smarties in the entire haul! I claimed the roll of Smarties, (they used to be one of my favorite candies) and ate it last night. It was the first sugary treat I've eaten since June. Only 29…

I have to second this. What a great perspective to point out. Love it!

I think it's called hypocrisy. :D

Moderation applied to some foods works for some people. In my opinion, a lot—perhaps even most, judging by obesity rates, as well as how many people regain weight after losing—either do not moderate their food, or think they moderate their food, but really don't, which is a point a few people here have made that others…

:o I need to try this immediately!!! I love spaghetti squash, too. Thank you for posting that quick & easy microwave method! I'll definitely use that when I need to be speedy. Usually, I roast it in the over for 20 minutes, take it out and cut it in half (so much easier, then!) Then I scoop out the seeds and roast those…

LOL I love all of these! Last year I made: Easy Witches Finger Breadsticks and Mummy Hot Dogs <3 Halloween!

LOL I love this. This is my favorite plan on here.
