  • Oh....this is the challenge for me! I'm such an LNS that I sometimes go hungry through the day so I know I can eat later on and I really want to break this habit. I'll log each morning (UK time). Me: 0 :( LNS: 1
  • Hi - I'm new to this challenge, but I'd quite like to take part :) My goal will be 24 hours. 1 August: 73 minutes walking (4.9km) Total: 73 minutes out of 1440 minutes
  • I'm a late joiner so I hope that's ok? I've been totally slacking over the last few weeks as you can see on my very slow loss below. In actual fact, I do well during the week and ruin it at the weekend, so time to hold myself to account! I think my loss for Aug 5th will be minimal if I even have one, so I might struggle to…
  • I am very British and just love a good old cup of tea. I can't stand coffee, but I do love the smell so I regularly make the drinks in the office lol
  • Me for starters! I never go to bed hungry now. I tried it before, but I'd end up rooting around the fridge about 2am  Now a 10pm snack is the first thing I log in my diary every day. Everyone is different, and if keeping cals back from the day doesn't work for you, then I'd keep busy. I've taken up cross stitching, as…
  • It's funny because it's true.
  • This is great advice! I think I will definitely start to do this, as it's something I've thought about but haven't done so far, yet it makes a lot of sense. Thank you! :)
  • Sounds like a good goal! I'm going for a week away in August, so I'm aiming to lose a stone (14lbs) in the next 9 weeks, which is also 1.5lbs a week. I've been doing 1lb a week so far so I need to step it up! Shall we set a mini goal of 4lbs by end of June, with weekly weigh ins and goal updates on Friday's?
  • Hi everyone, my name is Sharon, I'm from the UK and I just joined the group today :) I'm 38, married with no kids. I was always healthy and active when I was young, but slowly started putting weight on once I started working and just got heavier and heavier. I've used all the excuses you can think of for not losing weight,…
  • Ok, so I've set the group up (Shorties Unite!) so if you'd like to join, go to Groups in I think you just join it. :)
  • So yes, you can create a group which is probably easier than on this thread. If everyone is ok with joining the group, I don't minds setting it up?
  • I think you can start a group, I'll have a look now and report back! :)
  • Sorry....I had written more, not sure where it went to! My tips would be: Log everything you eat and drink, even if you go over you calories. If you're like me and are an emotional eater, logging everything helps spot trends etc, and can help you work on that. Drink plenty of water. I struggle with this one sometimes, but…
  • That's a great start! Well done.
  • Oh me too....I'm 5'1" (if I stand up really straight haha!) and I definitely pile it on quicker than my taller friends and family. I need to lose quite a lot, I am taking it slowly and I've lost about 11bs over 11 weeks, which I'm happy with especially considering I had a 2 week holiday when I pretty much stuffed my face…
  • Oh I hear you, you are definitely not alone! I've lost count of how many Monday's I've "started fresh" only to be back to all my bad habits by the weekend. I've failed so many times, but I am now on my 77th day of making myself accountable for my choices and I finally feel like I've changed my mindset. If I have one day of…
  • I've gone through them, but all the times before I've ended up just giving up completely and I'm determined not to let it happen again. I've learnt from the times before, and I agree with the post above. I now break everything down to mini goals, some are little daily goals and others are weekly goals. I rarely look at the…
  • I am sorry to hear you're having such a tough time at the moment. I moved away from all my friends and family about 15 years ago, and the loneliness was crippling at times so I know how you're feeling. Motivation is such a hard thing to get back once you've lost it, but you can do it. Could you maybe mix up what you're…
  • All great advice so far. The slow and steady route will be the best in the long run. Good luck, and feel free to add me if you're still looking for supportive friends :)
  • How do you chart your progress? I've just started weighing myself daily on an app which shows the overall trend rather than just an up and down graph. I'm hoping it will smooth out the ups and downs that happen naturally, so if you don't do that yet, it might be worth trying? It's very hard when a gain knocks your…
  • Hi....I'm a Glaswegian living in Oxford...add me if you like :)
  • Wow...what an inspiring post, thank you for sharing this and congratulations on your success so far. I count myself lucky that I haven't suffered ill health due to my weight so far, but I think that is because I don't have a car and walk everywhere, so I have a somewhat decent fitness level for my weight (but by no means a…
  • Thanks everyone....great advice/help! I'm definitely going to give this a go. I can feel a difference in my clothes at TOM (and ovulation - being a woman sucks sometimes right?!) so it would make sense that it affects weight. :)
  • Hello...I'm from Glasgow (I live in England now though)! Please feel free to add me, I find friendly support here in the MFP community really helps keep me motivated. :)
  • I like having the week to undo any damage done at the weekend! :)
  • I only weigh myself once a week, every Friday morning. I know I'd get too obsessed if I did it more. I have some friends on here who now only weigh in once a month...it'd be nice to see a big loss in one go, but I think doing it once a week makes me more aware and accountable.
  • Congrats on your loss so far! Feel free to add me, I find having active MFP friends is a great help when motivation is running a bit low.
  • This for non-UK people.....
