Sure you can. Just like I can eat a big hunk of birthday cake and still lose weight. I just don't do it regularly. You shouldn't be "getting drunk" on a regular basis anyway. Not being a prude, because I LOOOOOVE to tie one on now and then. But if I were doing it regularly enough that it was hijacking my weight loss goals,…

Old Navy or Marshalls. And for running shoes, Asics does it for me every time.
-
You know what.... I might not. And I'm quite the adult. Sometimes you have to listen to your body. Doesn't sound like you're slacking off for the 5th consecutive day or anything
-
Totally kidding about that, by the way. Just kind of being lighthearted about the whole thing.

It's just weight loss. You can't choose which parts of your body lose fat first. You can tone your core so that it looks fantastic when the fat comes off, but the fat comes off only with a calorie deficit. Edited because I feel like I sound unsympathetic. I'm not. It stinks that it's this way. I think I look pretty good,…

PB2. I just discovered it. It's powdered peanut butter (I like the chocolate version) with about 50 calories per serving rather than 200. It's less sweet, but more peanutty. Same consistency, though, once you mix it. Anyway, I go mix myself a little 2 tbsp. serving a few times per day right now & eat right from the spoon.

I do Pump weekly and improve every time I do it. It's great. The only problem I have is during the squat track. I could load up pretty heavy and squat all day (ok, not ALL day  ) but the bar KILLS my shoulders. I guess I'm kind of boney in that area and it just feels brutal. Like, by the end of the track I feel like…

Ooooh, that 1200 has been a VERY fluid number. It took me a full year to lose 25 pounds, haha. But that's fine, slow is good.
-
Oh definitely. And in the good spots. Remember, slower is better!

I'd be willing to bet she has a hound rather than a lab. Labs are just all around awesome, haha. I have 2 hounds. One foxhound (50 pounds), one little dachshund. And let me tell you, it is TOUGH getting them to remove their noses from the ground. To the point where it almost seems inhumane (lol, I kid). Both of mine are…

If it feels like exercise, then it IS exercise.

I have....THREE separate times....complimented (I thought) someone on their obvious weight loss only to find out that they HAVE been sick, or depressed. And that's worse! So I've learned. Now I just tell someone "you look great." If they've been working to lose weight, they know what I mean. If they've been sick, it still…

It begs the question, how much WAS I eating before? I guess the cool thing is that we've really become accustomed to eating more reasonable portions during this journey. Will have to continue to log and work to be sure that this way of thinking sticks.
-
I agree. I stopped 2 pounds short of my goal because I'm going to increase my calories a little at a time and see when I stop losing. The 1680 just looks so pretty in my diary right now

"I will not throw up, I will not throw up, I will not...."

All, or most, of the Les Mills classes are in the database, which is kind of cool. And yeah, it's all estimates, but it's fun to log exactly what you do, when possible.
-
I do CX also and it is in the database. Copied from my diary, it is called "Les Mills CXWORX." Copy that text and put it in search. You should find it. It's under cardio, not strength.
-
Separate exercise from weight in your mind. Make exercise about becoming STRONG. You're young, but trust me, strength will serve you well over the years, giving you the ability to do ANYTHING, while others will increasingly find themselves left behind. But in the near-term.... thin and muscular looks amazing. Keep it up!

I have a cheap LG smartphone and Runkeeper works with it (with a glitch now and then) and also ties into MFP
-
I started using RunKeeper. It maps your walks or runs and calculates calories based on distance, speed and elevation gains. It ties into MFP and automatically logs the calories that you burn during a walk here, in your diary. I'm sure a lot of people here use it and know more than I do about its accuracy.

If this were me (and I'd love for it to be me someday) I would also do plain old weight training in the gym, focusing on legs and especially back. Definitely I'd strengthen my back. All day hiking with a heavy pack, then sleeping on the ground.... I'd think you'll need a pretty reliable core. Have fun!!
-
A good instructor will coach you through your form. Pay careful attention to this and do what (s)he says. For example, when going into a bridge, you might be told to elevate one vertebrae at a time, rather than just popping off the ground. I see many new people just ignoring these cues (probably not intentional), and some…

double post, sorry

When I'm not conditioned for heavy walking and then jump back into it with a long, fast one, I always feel it in my hips.

These are great ideas. Not sure about the Red Bull. Too much caffeine makes me chatty. Add alcohol to chatty = not good. lol

Calorie counting is important to properly lose weight. Macros are important so that you properly nourish your body while restricting your calories. Why does this seem so simple to me?
-
For any workout like that, I use "circuit training, general" and call it a day. If you feel "aerobics, high impact" more accurately describes what you're doing, use that, but the calorie counts are extremely close.
-
If you really are indulging due to celebrations or whatever and the worst that has happened is that you've plateaued, I'd consider that a victory. In the midst of my weight loss, the holidays happened. From mid-November until Jan 1st, I lost nothing. But you know what? I GAINED nothing either and I could not have been more…

Foo Fighters, "All My Life" .... and it has to be loud

Wait.... why do we have to workout in the morning? I missed that memo. Count me out.
