  • I would say that drinking green tea does, in fact, aid weight loss. It is healthy and hydrating, and it also tends to suppress appetite. Does it truly 'speed up' your metabolism? No, but it is full of antioxidants and will certainly help you meet your goals in other ways.
  • I'm a Master's student in a similar boat. I know it's not a PhD, but working full-time and managing full-time coursework really does take a lot out of you. Hang in there! So glad to see that there are others out there feeling the way I do!
  • Hi! Glad that you are cycling. Welcome to the sport! As for gloves... well, yes, gloves should help some, but this sounds like a larger issue. Gloves will help reduce the pressure you place on your hands over long periods (because they are padded), but you also need to start lifting your weight out of your hands. Core…
  • I use premium and have my calories set by day, so I re-evaluate every five pounds or so. I take my weekly allotment and break it out depending on whether I plan to exercise. I exercise on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, so I allot myself fewer calories on those days because I earn some through exercise. I take…
  • I don't think that anyone is here to judge. There are others both heavier and lighter than you here. As for your question, it is really difficult for someone on the forum to determine this without a lot more information. How tall are you? What is your age? How would you describe the level of activity? Was there a warm-up…
  • Long-time user, not new to this thread - but haven't been here in months. Many, many friends have gone quiet, and I find that I need the interaction to keep motivated. I have lost 27lb and am running a 215(ish) day streak. I am not technically overweight anymore (hovering on the line, to be fair). I am aiming to lose 1/2…
  • Hi everyone! I am 5'4 and just under 150lb at my last weigh-in. I am currently hoping to lose 25 more pounds, but that's flexible (and going very slowly). I'm really focusing on my nutrition and cycling, and I'm watching my body change even though the scale refuses to move! I am a long-time user with many good friends…

  • Oops... posting for the tenth! The weight was accurate, I just failed to come back to the thread. :# SW: 151.6lb GW: 135lb 02/03 - 151.6lb 02/10 -150.4lb 02/17 - 02/24 - 03/02 -

  • I was just having a conversation about this! A friend worries about his mother, whose doctor has told her that she will die if she doesn't lose weight - she, however, is in denial. I really think that Jillian Michaels has a point but could have framed her response a little differently. I love Lizzo as a musician and I…
  • I would be careful adding rice and other grains without verifying them myself. There will be discrepancies if available entries aren't specifying dry or cooked, or whether there are added ingredients in someone's recipe or something, etc. Always better to scan or enter yourself.
  • Been here for a while now and it seems that all my friends have gone inactive! Would love to add some new people/receive some friend requests to liven things up again. My diary is open, I exercise pretty regularly, and I like to interact with posts on my feed. Bonus points if you're either a) in your twenties or b) a…
  • Been here four months (24lb lost, slow but steady) and it seems that all my friends have gone inactive! I have an open diary, exercise regularly and really like interacting with friends/feed. Add me if you'd like. :)
  • Bad week for me guys! Back up 5lb on the scale in water weight after a good two-day binge. Managed to drop 3lb, so I'm only 2lb above my last loss, but it's still a bit awful. I also hit the road on Sunday for ten weeks for work - living out of hotels and eating out! I have no idea how I'll lose, just hoping I won't gain.…
  • Great!!!! Good eating weeks are so satisfying. Do you eat a lot of the same foods, or do you change it up? I tend to eat very similarly, and I'm often jealous of all the more creative people on my feed!
  • You've got these six pounds!!!! Let us know your progress at weigh-ins?
  • Yay for your loss! :) I had lost 2lb at my last weigh-in, but the last five days, I've been the same damn weight within .1lb. I'm supposed to start my period within the next two days... wondering if the plateau has to do with that! Trying not to stress.
  • Welcome to the group! Why don't you tell us a little about yourself? :)
  • Hi! I'm Danielle and I'm 24. I've been on and off MFP for over six years! I've lost as much as 50lb in a go, but I always fail to maintain and end up right back here. Right now my cw is 163lb and my gw is 130lb. I'm 5'4'' and pear-shaped-ish. There's a small group of us in our twenties that are in a group on here, so feel…
  • Fingers crossed for a loss for you this week!
  • So glad to see you back! Glad that you took the time that you needed and that you're not discouraged by the small gain/hopefully water weight. I weigh every day, but you reminded me - when I used to weigh once per week, I always did it on Monday morning because weekends were so hard to stay focused! It totally changed how…
  • I'm definitely still here! The "journey" is OK. I had a binge that bumped my weight up by 4lb, and I'm hoping to drop it as water weight - but thus far, only 2lb have dropped in a couple of days. Trying to drink more water and stay focused! How are you getting on? Everything good?
  • I'm a pretty active cyclist! I think most of us are likely pursuing some other form of exercise too. :)
  • I just started today too! Join me! I would love to be not-the-only-person starting around this time. :)
  • Over twenty?? That's so impressive! I hope that I can do the same soon. Sounds like you've put a lot of great effort in. :)
  • Oops! Feel like I should have mentioned that these are standard push-ups on my toes. :)
  • A little late to the game, but I surprised myself this morning! I was certain I'd only be able to do a single push-up (if that), but I managed eight with good form, so I guess that I'll be starting week one, column two!
  • Yay! So very happy that you were able to drop the weight. :) And if you already love green tea, you'll likely love it iced!
