You could try the actual anti-perspirants vs just using deodorant. It's got aluminum hydrochloride in it, you put it on before bed so it absorbs into the areas and actually prevents you from sweating as much. It works well for underarms, beneath breasts and in groin/belly folds. Also baby powder (without starch as this can…

When I started lifting weights my weight loss went from 0.25 a day to gaining 1-2lbs and holding it a few days then losing it in a whoosh of 2-4 lbs a week. As people above said, lifting makes you hold water for muscle repair, but it does come back off. If you weigh daily, you will notice the pattern of hold and release.…

Congrats! Progress pics and measurements are a GREAT motivator when the scale doesn't seem to be moving much. It's always nice to see the curves looking smoother and staying in the right places ;)

My husband broke his leg in June 2012 and has had 6 reconstructive surgeries.. about to have #7 if all goes well with next consult. Infection, nerve damage and pain, tissue loss.. it's all taken a toll, not to mention the stress of just not being able to be yourself and get up and go when you want. The best you can do is…

This sounds like me and the box of Halloween sprinkled Little Debbie Snack Cakes my husband bought me. :| Ate the whole box in one sitting. THE. WHOLE. BOX. 10 cakes. I was miserable sick feeling for 24 hrs after and I deserved it. But hey, my calories were definitely under the line for the next few days and I now know…

I'm 5'8 and went from 341 to 326, dropped 2 scrub pant sizes and 1 jeans pant size. I hold most of my weight in my gut and thighs.

After finishing college and losing 100lbs in a year, and then maintaining for a year... I lost my first pregnancy and began to put on weight. After 6 losses, 8 years later, I am a blimp. Cherry vanilla ice cream may have felt better in the moment (the cartons did not care if I cried into them), but not so much now. I got…

Maybe pick your favorite video and do it MWF, and do the stationary bike on T &TH... do that until that video workout seems easier then switch to another to keep your body from getting used to the same routine?

Take it slow: don't try everything all on one day or you will wake up unable to roll over in bed let alone walk- plus this will put you off wanting to go back! Drink plenty of water before, during and after. A lot of times when you join a gym you get a free session with a trainer or one of the gym guru's... you might ask…

I love the zucchini pizza crusts, so much more filling than bread crusts and gives it a sweet tangy flavor... also no bloating and less calories to boot! As good as the zucchini is with tomato sauce on it.. I'm tempted to try a lasagna type meal sans noodles. Hmmm.

You can also use the applesauce as a sugar replacement. Approx 1/2 c sauce for 1 c sugar.

I debone before eating... makes it much simpler. Especially chicken legs. :)

At around 10 lbs the back fat rolls got smoother and the belly wasn't as bad.. boobs flatter of course *sigh* Had lost about 20 inches overall in measurements though. Now at 15 lbs down and 34 inches lost, clothes are fitting differently, dropped a pant size and over a bra size. Definite muscle definition in my legs now.…

I think to myself how that bag of chips or half gallon of ice cream is going to look once it's firmly attached to my gut or thighs... and decide to pass. A single serving treat is easier to work off than buying a multi-serving "I know I'm going to eat it ALL" binge buy.

Here's some simple things that may help you get started, other than the great stuff already listed above: Try eating from a child size plate. This will help mentally with the smaller serving sizes as your plate will still look full. Also drink your water mainly before meals, try not to drink so much after as this will…

Noticed today that the hinge on the leg curl/calf raise portion of my weight bench is no longer in danger of pinching my inner thigh (did this several times when I started out). Made it through 50 squats today, first 30 with 15lb weight. :) Getting there slowly but surely.... and my bad day Friday, I was still less than…

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce = 1 egg, just make sure to decrease the amount of water in recipe if any is called for or you may end up having to bake it for a few minutes longer

I started eating from a child size plate (not the cup saucers) and it helps tremendously. Also, chewing EACH bite of food slowly and slowing down to eat helped... it tricked me into thinking I was eating more because it took longer and my plate looked SO full even though it was only half of my prior "normal" portions.

While looking for my extra pair of scrub pants, I accidently grabbed a pair from my "too small but maybe someday" bin and pulled them on- not only did they fit but they are a full size down from the ones I had to buy in May! Even better, as I went through the bin, I was able to get into some that are 2 sizes down but will…

I can totally relate to so many of your embarrassing reasons! I can't wait to be able to shave my legs without my gut being in the way of bending. To shop off the racks at a store.. definitely. I'd love to be able to eat out at a nice place without feeling like people are staring at the "fat woman." Mostly, I just want to…

I thought the elastic had broken on my sports bras because they were SO loose. It wasn't. I was able to remove 3-4 inches of material from the back portion and an inch from each strap to make them fit appropriately again! Also, was trying on some shorts from the back of the drawer (last years too tight ones) and while they…

Big Girls Don't Cry, Eye of the Tiger, Tub Thumping, I Hate Everything About You.. can't think of the rest as they blur, but these first ones get me through the toughest "getting started" part of the workout that always seems to be the worst.

Start hammering Gatorade as soon as you wake up to pee the first time after some sleep... drink it the entire 1st day after then keep up with the water. B-Vitamins will help also as alcohol depletes them in the body.

Tuna with a dash of relish for tuna salad... plums go really good, as well as lemon pepper chicken... pork not so much.

You might try taking a low dose aspirin a day when you start cramping, especially if you pass a lot of clots. Sometimes this will help. I also find that there are some months that tampons make the cramps ALOT worse and I have to resort to pads. My uterus tips on it own, sometimes from month to month, sometimes in the…

Both Cinnamon and Chromium help with insulin resistance. I'm not sure of the Cinnamon dose, my stomach won't tolerate it. The Chromium I started with 500mCg twice daily and increased to 1000mCg twice daily after a month. It does wonders on appetite control for me as well.

I hear you on a bad weekend. I had pizza and salad, which came with complimentary cinnamon rolls... then 16oz Kracken Rum and 4 pack of Pina Coloda Wine coolers in 2 hrs. Needless to say the porcelain throne and a decorative box (now trash) got the majority of the food/liquor a few hours later... but still. Also, I have…

I have been taking Chromium supplements, started with 500mCg twice a day for a month and increased to 100mCg twice a day. It's been 2 months and there is a noticeable difference in appetite. I am not craving or thinking about food constantly like I was before. I can actually get full with an appropriate sized meal. It…

I did away with BLDS times all together. I use 3 blocks: 12a-8a, 8a-3p, 3p-12a.

Haven't had surgery yet, still in the waiting/qualifying stage but after a month of logging, and another month of making diet changes and sticking to a calorie limit and boosting exercise: 10lbs down, 23 inches lost overall. My 4x clothes are getting looser, there are times that I actually feel full now (not a state of…
