  • Someone actually said I was 'too skinny' at the gym today. She also thought I was a teenager - I get that a lot now that I've lost weight. Some people may be offended by that but it made me smile. Considering I was obese just beginning of last year, to now have people telling you you're slim, it makes a lovely change. I…
  • I think I care far too much about what others think, need to stop doing that!
  • I will definitely attend the interview. Thanks for all your encouragement :)
  • I say stick to it and it will soon become easier. I've been tracking every day for 1.5 years now and it's become a habit. I don't even notice, it's just something I do.
  • Thanks for all the helpful replies. I did enjoy going to the gym when I was going, I much prefer it to classes, but once I stop going, it takes me forever to get back into it. I think I need to exercise for longer than a month. Maybe 3 or 4 months or so before it starts becoming a habit. Also, whenever I start exercising I…
  • Thanks, I'll definitely try it. Most days I am getting around 30-50g of protein which I know isn't enough, I just love my carbs a bit too much!
  • I've been very slowly losing weight over a year and a half. I think that's slow enough! I'm not looking for big losses, around 2 lbs a month as before would be great, but that's not happening anymore. I am very honest with my logging, every single thing is logged. I never eat out, only when I get home or I take something…
  • Thanks for your input, much appreciated. I will definitely change things up once I've got the basics down. Do you think there is anything I can add or change to improve the routine?
  • No, I'm not quite that old yet! I work in an office and I'm also studying in the evenings and weekends, so I spend a fair bit of my time sitting down. I will hopefully join the gym and increase my TDEE that way. Thanks for your input.
  • Sorry, I should add, according to this site https://www.iifym.com/tdee-calculator/. Obviously different calculators will give slightly different results, but this is the one I'm sticking with.
  • I'm 5'2, currently 108 lbs and sedentary. My BMR is 1155 and TDEE 1328 when 107 lbs.
  • I will definitely increase my calories to about 1300-1350 once I start exercising. I will be aiming for 1200 until then. Do you think that's okay? I know I will see some weight gain once I up my calories, but I get so disheartened seeing the weight go up after trying to lose weight for so long.
  • I do walk an hour or so, sometimes two hours, every other day. It's Ramadan and I find it difficult to exercise whilst fasting. Fasts open past 9.30pm by which point I can't think about exercise. I will be joining the gym after Eid which is in abut 8 days time. I will definitely be strength training along with a little…
  • I don't think I can lose weight without exercise on 1300 calories any longer. My BMR is 1100, TDEE is 1300 or so. I'd maintain my weight at best. Plus, I wanted to gradually increase my calories back up, not all of a sudden.
  • I'm tracking absolutely everything, have been for over a year now. Even the milk in my tea is weighed out. Nothing is estimated - I never eat out or eat meals cooked by others, so like I said, every single thing is accounted for. MY BMR currently is 1100 or so according to this site https://www.iifym.com/tdee-calculator/…
  • I'm also 5'2. My initial goal weight was 110 which I've finally got to, yet still look so chubby! It's disappointing. I fit into UK size 8 clothes now (just about), but I still look fat. I definitely want to lose another 8-10 lbs to look slim. I'm almost there, but still a fair bit of work to do yet. I think I just have a…
  • Feel free to add me. I have lost 57 lbs and am looking to lose another 5-7 lb or so. Could do with some friends on here!
  • Thanks, I'll check it out. I still want to lose a few pounds, but I do think I need to join the gym next month after Ramadan and start strength training. Got a long way to go yet!

  • Perhaps that's it. I've lost weight through diet only really, although I've no major issues with loose skin, I could do with gaining some muscle and tightening everything up.
  • Thanks. I'm just 5'2.
  • I'm going abroad next week and will be away for a few months. I have decided not to take my food scale with me. I plan on only eating fruit, vegetables, beans, lentils, oats and other wholesome foods. I will also try more strength training exercises, however, I won't have access to the gym until I get back. A few years ago…
  • I doubt I'm eating 1600 and haven't noticed! Like I said before, I am more likely to go for the highest estimate of a food, rather than the lower estimate. Plus I usually eat under my 1300 Calorie allowance. I've just lowered my calories to 1200, so will see if that changes things for me.
  • It's open :)
  • I don't weigh out packaged items like sliced bread and biscuits - I don't eat all my calories most days to make up for this. I already feel like a slave to my scale and am hoping to soon stop using it. I can't eat out because of it - haven't in a year, and some days when I'm too late for breakfast and I forget to pack a…
  • I tried meal prepping and hated it. Food was unpalatable and I really began to miss eating normal food. I definitely eat much healthier than I used to and do cook every now and again, but I also have days where I eat some processed food like baked cod or naan bread and low cal curry. Also, just thought I'd add that I often…
  • I am female, 5'2 and current weight is 128 lbs. Goal weight is around 105, but I'd be happy at 110 lbs initially.
  • Thanks for responding. I have been trying to lose weight now for over a year. I've gotten to the point now where I know something isn't working, I'm just not sure what. I thought it was a lack of exercise, but that's not helped thus far. I really don't want to crash diet (even though it seems everyone around me is) and I…
  • I've got this problem. When I started trying to lose weight last year my hair was very thick, in fact, people would always comment on how thick it was. Now, I have such thin hair - for me - and shed loads every day, or every few days. I've stuck to between 1000-1300 calories a day, some days I go a little under this, but…
  • I don't believe anyone truly stops caring what others think, no matter what your age. You may think it 'immature', but other people's comments, particularly people that you interact with on a daily basis, impact us whether we acknowledge it or not.
  • I work part time at an office (a 4-hour commute there and back!) which I like, but I barely have the energy, or time, after work to do exercise those days. I work the rest of the time at home and I'm also a part-time student - so spend long stretches sitting in front of the laptop. I recently have started exercising at…
