  • To add to everything said above, keep in mind that certain times in your monthly cycle can cause cravings to pop up. I get hit really hard with carb cravings the day before I start, as well as the first day of my period.
  • I want to be 189.X by the end of the year. 3 pounds to go 💪
  • @eliezalot it was just okay. It might be better in a different sauce - I think the combination of the lemon juice with the sour flavor from the yogurt was just too much. Perfectly edible but in the future I will probably save up some calories and use cream.
  • Re: saucy dishes - I've recently been looking at ways to make the sauces themselves less caloric. I love a lemon cream sauce over angel hair pasta and even with portion control that's hard to fit in my day. Recently saw a recipe that swaps the heavy cream for plain non-fat greek yogurt, so I'll be trying that out tonight…
  • I'm about as far away from IF as you can get - I snack all day, I eat whenever I feel like it - and yet, my body is not storing fat. I've lost 30 pounds. Why? Because I eat in a calorie deficit.
  • I haven't had COVID but my cousin's husband, who is morbidly obese, had it last month and has made a full recovery. He did have a severe case, getting pneumonia on top of it and spending a couple of days in the hospital, but apparently they gave him blood from people who had already recovered and that helped him greatly.

  • I lived ~800 miles away from my parents for about a decade and my mom liked to send me care packages with homemade cookies. The kind that held up best in the mail were no-bakes. More "typical" cookies like chocolate chip or peanut butter usually arrived in many small pieces. Not that I complained!
  • My "mentally healthy" foods: Chicken flavor instant ramen. Reminds me of nights in my college dorm when the roomies and I would make a big pot of it and sit in a circle on the floor sharing it among 3 or 4 of us. Pop tarts. Not allowed in my house growing up as they had too much sugar, but my aunt always had a stock of…
  • Since I only have the 25th off work (assuming I haven't quit or been laid off before then), I will probably just visit my parents for the day and keep things very low key. It should be fairly easy to avoid going overboard on the Christmas treats. We took Christmas photos yesterday with the three of us humans, plus some of…
  • @cremorna1 thank you! I was really excited about getting into those 10s...but today I saw the photos that were taken on Thursday and I think they fall in the category of "just because it fits doesn't mean it's flattering." Muffin top galore 😣 Another 5+ pounds and maybe I can put the 10s in the regular rotation.
  • I had planned to go up to maintenance calories today and I did just that. My biggest victory was having a piece of pumpkin pie after lunch. A piece. One reasonable size piece. And not going back for a second and a third, or cutting myself a massive portion and feeling sick after eating it. Desserts are my weakness so this…
  • Yesterday I was packing hurriedly for a trip to my parents' and I needed another pair of jeans. All of my usual pairs that I know will fit me were in the wash, so I dug through my closet and came across a pair of size 10s that I don't recall ever having worn. I probably bought them years ago but was always too big to wear…
  • I decided to go to my parents' house tomorrow and stay through Sunday - the boredom and loneliness at my house is getting to be too much. And they have just had a fence put up around their backyard in hopes that it would make it possible for me to do multiple day visits with my dogs in tow, so I didn't want to disappoint…
  • Today is looking like possibly the last nice, 60+ degrees and dry day for the foreseeable future so I plan to take full advantage and go check out a hiking trail I haven't been on yet. As always, one of the dogs will accompany me for added fun and a modicum of safety. I've already given myself a manicure this morning so my…
  • My most recent addiction is Tru Fru frozen raspberries covered first in white chocolate and then in dark. They also make a blueberry version but I prefer the tangy raspberry flavor to contrast the sweetness of the chocolate.
  • It's day 1 of my 4 day weekend and it started off right by continuing my post- TOM whoosh with another drop on the scale. I'm going to be getting some cleaning done this morning - dust furniture, sweep floors, do a couple loads of laundry - while I wait for the delivery men to come with a couple of packages that will need…
  • I fill a water bottle and carry it around with me, or set it next to me while I work. I find that even if there's no exciting flavor, I'll sip out of it just because it's there.
  • Ditto on the short work weeks. I leave at noon on Thursday this week and am off every day except Tuesday next week. I'm burning all my vacation time, anticipating that I may decide to quit after Thanksgiving. Still a lot of decisions to be made in that regard, but if it does happen, at least I won't be giving up any PTO.
  • Wearing my curvy fit, vanity sized 12 jeans today and feeling the same way! 3 months ago these pants barely buttoned, today I'm constantly hiking them up.
  • Ditto, I used to buy these big containers of frozen chocolate eclairs and scarf them straight out of the freezer. Also frozen chocolate cake or coconut cream pie out of the box. I try to avoid going down that grocery store aisle at all these days.
  • Yes, back when I was a gym goer I would try to avoid things like dead lifts or anything that puts you in that "booty out" position when there were guys in the room. I also had multiple experiences where I would be working out, doing my own thing, and a random guy would come up and try to "correct my form" sometimes…
  • Today was another awful day of work, so much so that I barely kept myself from blurting out "I quit" on a phone call with my boss this afternoon. Now it's approaching dinner time and one side of my brain says "you're angry, just skip dinner and dwell on it." Another side says "you're sad, go out and buy whatever calorie…
  • 1 fried egg and a piece of american cheese on a toasted high fiber english muffin. Gets me some fiber, some protein and fat, and keeps me full until my midmorning snack.
  • With two more pounds of loss, this will be my most successful weight loss at 27 pounds. My previous record was 26 pounds lost on Slimfast, which was unsustainable so I gained it all back and then some. I also did Whole 30, lost 11 pounds, but was unsustainable so I gained it all back and then some. Did keto, lost 15…
  • My long term scale goals: 189 by the end of the year 149 (top of healthy range) by my 30th birthday, Dec 2021 135 (goal weight) by June 2022 Long term fitness goals: Train for and run a half marathon. I'd also like to get to where I feel comfortable doing multi-day hikes - I'd love to hike portions of the Appalachian…
  • No, that's not what being a picky eater means, but since we're discussing our picky habits within the context of losing weight and vegetables are low calorie, that's what we've been focusing on. Another food I dislike is bacon, but that dislike won't hinder me from sticking to a low cal diet.
  • @bmeadows380 that's hilarious! I remember when I was 6 or 7, I had taken a little baby doll to church and set it on top of the car as I was getting in to go home. Forgot it and realized it was missing when we got home, Mom drove us back to church to search the parking lot but we never found it. 20+ years later I still…
