  • Yes, at your height and weight, a 1200 calorie per day intake should result in weight loss, not maintenance.
  • 5'7 and 180, but you've been eating 1200 calories a day for two years and are maintaining? Something doesn't add up. You are likely eating more than you think, because your maintenance calories should be much higher. Do you weigh everything with a food scale?
  • I took my dog on a 5 mile walk this morning. I was expecting some knee or foot soreness (knees and feet starting to bother me was one of my motivators to start my weight loss) but had none! The last time I traveled 5 miles under my own power would've been about 2 and a half years ago. Happy to get back to it!
  • If only we could tell the body which parts we want to be smaller! The only somewhat nice thing about gaining weight was that I actually had cleavage for once in my life! I know that when I get to my goal weight I'll have given up my overflowing C cup and be back to barely filling out a B cup 😒
  • Thank you for the reassuring words. I'm telling myself that, if nothing else, this is motivation for me to continue on my journey so that if we do it again on labor day 2021, I will be proud of my pictures.
  • Today is one of those days where reality smacked me in the face. I had spent labor day going hiking with my parents and was wearing a pair of jeans and a t shirt, both of which had been fitting looser and I thought I looked decent in. Then today I received photos my parents took and....oh. All I can see is my huge upper…
  • And I'll add to the list: Little Debbie swiss cake rolls, Michelina's wheels and cheese (lived on those as a teenager), and my grandma's homemade chicken noodle soup with the doughy hand-cut noodles.
  • Ditto on the Pizza Hut; every Tuesday night my parents would have a "family night" where we all went out for dinner and a fun activity. Dinner was always either Pizza Hut or Subway because it was cheap/free for kids. Good times!
  • I've gotten so consistent with my morning walks that my dogs wake me up when it's time 🤣
  • I hadn't eaten cottage cheese in years until I read it in a list of high protein foods when I was trying to increase my protein. Turns out I love the 4% fat variety, I eat a serving every day and it keeps me feeling full for hours.
  • So I find myself in an unusual position today - due to the large amount of exercise I did this morning and the small breakfast and lunch that I had, I have 1200 calories left over for dinner! I am both excited and absolutely boggled at the amount of choices I have. It's as if someone gifted me $10,000 and I can't decide…
  • Today I hit pre-quarantine weight! Sitting at 210, down from 223. Took me 4 months to put on 13 pounds and 6 weeks to take it off. 10 pounds to get to Onederland, 55 to get to a healthy BMI, 75 to goal weight!
  • I'm in Chattanooga!
  • Vegetable- sweet peas Nut- peanuts Seed- sunflower Grain/Starch- whole wheat bread Flavor for sweets- chocolate Chocolate- milk chocolate Condiment for dinners- honey mustard Topping for sweets- caramel sauce Breakfast- egg and cheese on english muffin Type of food- pasta with a cream based sauce 🤤 Fruit- blood orange…
  • Milk. Switched to almond milk for caloric reasons and don't think I'll ever go back.
  • As someone who hated the marshmallows in Lucky Charms even as a kid, this picture makes me gag 😝
  • Exactly this. I like the extra ~200 calories I can get by taking a walk, but do I enjoy the walk for its own sake? Most days, no.
  • I said NO to ice cream! Ice cream has always been one of the foods I can't resist; in the last two years especially, I had been in the habit of buying multiple pints of ice cream and eating two per day, then immediately going back to buy more. I'm 5 weeks in to my healthy eating and exercise routine and have been avoiding…
  • Not Slimfast, but I do keep a few Premier protein shakes in the frig (I prefer their nutrition facts to those of Slimfast) just to have occasionally if I need something to keep me from starving but I'm in a hurry.
  • I did C25K in 2016, going from zero to running a 5k in about 10 weeks. I ran 3 days a week, as laid out in the app. Then in 2017 I did 8 or so 5k races and one 10k. It definitely worked as a solid start for me when I needed a plan to get going.
  • The things that motivated me to start healthy eating and exercise: - I finally broke down and cleaned out all of the clothes in my closet that have been too small for years, and realized that it was literally half my wardrobe. - I went on some group hikes (pre pandemic) in an effort to make new friends while doing…
  • I eat dill pickle spears when I want to go super low calorie, I "splurge" on 4% fat cottage cheese when I want something rich that will satisfy me, I mix a spoonful of caramel syrup into some plain greek yogurt when I want something sweet. I also do sunflower seeds, mixed nuts, fruit (apple, banana, orange, grapes,…
  • Thought I was going to get a good couple of hours of walking in this morning, the weather was perfect and it's supposed to rain for the rest of the weekend so I was going to take advantage. Took dog #1 for an hour-long walk, returned to the house for dog #2, planning to also walk 1 hour with her. We got to the river where…
  • I have a "skinny mirror" in my house that I look in when I need a confidence boost 😂 it must be warped somehow because it makes you look at least 10 pounds lighter, others have noticed it too.
  • Had to Google crow pose and OMG how do you even get into that position?!? Very impressive!
  • I think this could vary widely based on your starting weight. Years ago my starting weight was right at the top end of the healthy range, about 160, and people noticed when I lost 15 pounds. This time around I'm much heavier and I don't think the first 15 pounds of loss will be very noticeable.
  • I've been doing almost exclusively online pickup orders for my grocery shopping, which really helps me avoid buying the sweets that I would typically binge on. This evening I had a craving for rotisserie chicken, so I decided to make a run to the store to pick one up. While there, I made eye contact with a package of…
  • Hello! I'm 28 years old, 5' 6", and after gaining 13 pounds of quarantine weight, hit my highest weight ever at 223. My goal is to lose 88 pounds and in the past month I've lost 7 pounds through calorie counting and walking. I spent the first 26 years of my life at a thin-average weight until I gained 70 pounds 2 years…
  • Hiking with my dogs - I love to explore new areas and find the best views.
  • I was mainly worried about all the "scary" stuff I've heard about diet pop, everything from "artificial sweeteners cause cancer" to "drinking sweet things without calories will make you crave sweets even more." So wondered if I ought to try and kick the G Zero habit since I don't need the electrolytes.
