  • The week before I get pretty hungry and retain about 2 lbs of water. Once I start, the cravings and the water go away. During, I get a little crampy and my appetite drops. I weigh every day, but know the weight will shift based on where I am in my cycle.
  • I am 5'2" and 41 years old. Just a short body of efficiency, it is so easy to go over my allowed calories and super hard to stay under it. I am trying to lose the same 10 lbs. I lost in 2015, but have regained. This time around I am really trying to control sugar. I was feeling lethargic in the afternoon and think it might…
  • Frame and body type really impact what your ideal weight will be. I am 5'2" and my wrist measures slightly less than 5", so I have a small frame. Add in being narrow overall, short torso, and small busted and I can't carry any extra weight at all without losing any impression of a waist. Just pick where you feel best and…
  • Regular soda. I was drinking about a can of coke a day and when I started looking at my diet, it was the first thing to go. I still occasionally have a rum and diet, but no full calorie coke. I try to really limit the calories I drink as I don't find them very satisfying.
  • I'm 5'2". I started at 115. I'm down to 106 lbs (3 months to lose 9 pounds), with a goal of 105 lbs. I might lower that to 102 lbs, which is the bottom of a healthy BMI for my height. I have a really small/narrow frame, short torso, and my chest is only a 32B.
  • First I am small (5'2" and 107 lbs.), older (39), and fairly sedentary. Even when I gained weight, I wasn't eating a large volume of food, just really high calorie foods. Generally I eat 2 meals a day, a late breakfast (almost always 1 egg) and an early dinner. I have at least 2 types of veggies, 2 types of fruit, and nuts…
  • I like working out at home. I have my own equipment, my own AC settings, get to watch what I want on the TV (and actually hear it), don't have to drive anywhere, and I can wear whatever is comfortable without embarrassment. Everyone is different though. There isn't one answer, it is whatever works for the individual.
  • I weigh it raw, then weigh the whole amount cooked, then weigh out my portion, adjust it to what that would have been raw, and use the raw entry.
  • Watch Naked and Afraid. There is no way those people are getting the recommended number of calories and at the end they have lost a lot of weight.
  • The nutritional value of what you are eating is pretty lacking. I agree with the idea of picking up some precut (easy) fruits and veggies at the grocery store. That way grabbing something out of the fridge is as simple as grabbing a cracker. Also getting some lean protein. Good Luck!
  • Water. There are 3500 cals in a pound. Have you eaten 8750 over maintenance in one day? My guess is probably not, so it is water. It will work itself out in a couple of days.
  • I thought about that. I was just hoping that there was an easier way. It is a bit of a pain, because I can't move the deep fryer. I was also thinking that the frying oil seems to pick up alot of stuff in the frying process, some oil is lost to the air, some of it is absorbed in the paper towel under the food, and some of…
  • What do you do about oils? I deep fried some chicken for orange chicken and couldn't think of a good way to account for oil absorption.
  • I am 5'2" and have been doing 1200 calories for 35 days. It sucks that the weight comes off so slow. The key for me not feeling hungry is to have protein and fat for breakfast. This fills me up for hours and I can add carbs throughout the day. I am not anti carb, but I do noticed that for me, carbs in the morning makes me…
  • I find measuring food to be very challenging, even assuming all nutritional information is correct. Tonight I made Szechuan, that is 4 ingredients in one pan and rice made in the rice cooker. Calories for rice are given based on dry rice. Ok weigh rice before it is cooked and after it is cooked to come up with a ratio.…
  • Every morning, because I like data points. I like the history of seeing how my weight fluctuates, based on time of the month, foods high in sodium, or intense work outs.
  • 1. I was drinking a lot of calories! 2. Eggs are awesome. 3. Bread, pasta, and rice had way more calories than I thought. 4. Being short means I can't eat as much as bigger people.
  • I'm 38 and 5'2. SW was 115, CW is 110, and GW is 105. I was 108 a year ago, so 105 seems achievable with some effort. Losing at about 1/2 lbs. a week. I have a small frame, small breasts, and carry most of my extra weight in my lower abdomen, so I feel I look best at the lower end of a healthy BMI.
