  • Looks like the doctor did help. She made you angry enough to take action . Seriously though, I'm not really sure what a doctor can do on the NHS. They aren't trained in nutrition and the NHS guidelines really has no assistance to give people with a BMI under 30. Above that it seems they can offer NHS funded…
  • This is normal in England. It's not that they don't notice instead they won't mention it is case the compliment is interpreted as being called fat. Last time I had lost 4st (56lb) until someone who didn't know I was dieting mentioned it. And she wasn't English . I'm not expecting different this time.
  • This has to work for life so if you are intending on drinking alcohol when you reach maintenance you must learn to budget it during loss. For me I work to a weekly deficit rather than daily so I save 100-200 calories a day (depending on my fitbit adjustments) for my weekend wine. I've also moved from large white wine to…
  • Thanks so much for the replies! To be clear (as I did not phrase it well) I wear my FitBit constantly and average 12K steps a day. But I do take it off only when I do my weight session in the gym once a week as I heard that for weight type exercises it iver inflates numbers. If this is incorrect let me know! I do love my…
  • Yeah, I like to work to a weekly deficit rather than a daily one as I have much more structure and routine during the week and like to have a few glasses of wine at the weekend.
  • I had the FitBit Flex and recently upgraded to a Charge HR. They both got me moving but the HR has a lot more functionality and stays on better. It's been interesting watching my resting heart rate come down as my exercise levels have gone up too!
  • 4 years ago I lost 95lb with WeightWatchers. Decided I knew it all and stopped pointing. Now I'm back at it losing the same 95lb again. Hopefully when I am back to my goal weight this time I will not be so arrogant about tracking. I will always need to do it as I have an incredible ability to overeat! This is my second…
  • I lost 6 stone with WW but fell back into bad habits and have put it all back on. I did try doing WW again but failed totally getting my head round the ProPoints system and couldn't stick to it. I am now trying MFP as I want to be able to go into restaurants who display calorie information and not have to get a calculator…
  • Oh, I meant to say changing to lightly active was an excellent suggestion. I set it to sedentary because I do have a desk job, I never really considered the commute.
  • Excellent suggestion! I get the steps from. Walking to and from the train station to work/home plus a walk at lunch so they will be pretty stable during the working week and negative calorie adjustments will sort out my lazier Sundays (a girl needs to rest her feet sometime ) but meal planning at the moment is a…
  • Thanks! I think I just was looking for some reassurance that the numbers don't seem totally mad! The fine tuning will take a while :)
