I did the same thing! Many people have started in a way harder position yet their results are so amazing. I'd be very happy to have the kind of result that'll make me proud of myself as well.

Merry X'mas to you too! Enjoy your P90X series (and result!)

I'm on my second round of X3 now but am doing it in combination with 21 Day Fix Extreme. The first round (Classic) was good in the first two blocks, but I felt boring at the third block (not as intense as the first two) and wouldn't consider that round as a 100% success (but still 90% since my waist measurement goes down a…

I was born and raised in Asia & moved to US in my early 20s. This "weight-commenting" thing is still one of those few that I really have to make myself ignore whenever I hear it. Growing up, I can't tell how many times my appearance got commented by family members or friends. My elder relatives (in grandparents' and…

Thighs goes first and are still shrinking (from knees and then up towards torso), and then lower ab. Waist is catching up but face and arms are slow... :/

Thanks, @newtosd1 & @SunnyCyndie !! Yes, now I regret not to start strength training earlier. It is amazing to see changes at this point when I almost believe there's no way to improve how my body looks and performs. Funny thing is, we were talking about high school reunion (yesterday was the 111th year since my high…
-
@newtosd1 hehe I love what you said!! :p Yes I did say that at the moment but just in my mind... I think my tears would be more powerful for him to back off ;) Sometimes I see my SO as a good motivation to engage to a healthy, active lifestyle, even though I know that's not the reason why he has never struggled with weight…

And I think that's called confidence from the inside :)

That's a good way to think about it! Thanks!! I'd never thought of giving up though, cuz it's just not worth doing that. I might spent too much time doing this wrong, or maybe just that my standard got higher and higher whenever I passed a goal... Learning to love seems tougher than I thought, I guess... :)

^This! I want to look good (so badly) and have the strength & mentality to do my work, so a 6 AM workout is actually very excited for me (also start working around 9 AM). But I guess I have that extra few hours since I can't sleep for 8 hrs... will automatically wake up around 6.5-7 hrs of sleep... :s

I might saw the same picture in a lecture in professional school just a few years ago about smoking cessation and history of cigarettes, and the lecturer threw out almost the same question like what you've asked. Back then, things like tobacco were not fully studied yet for the influence on human body when they just came…

After a semester of parasitology (even though it's just one semester), I won't encourage anyone to eat raw food since there's no certain way to decide if the ingredients are handled proper enough to ensure optimal safety, and cooking is at least a good (but not perfect) defense for that. I know I'm being a little bit…

Thank you both for replying... Yes it does subside. I think the hardest part for this whole journey is neither the sweat while exercising nor the learning curve of making proper food choice, but how we accept ourselves... It's hard... but I'm making progress!
-
OP, do you have any hobby that requires clean hands and concentration? I'm not sure how effective this would be on you, but I've seen success from myself and my brother for reducing the urge of grabbing something to eat when we're not hungry. I play musical instrument and make plushie toys. During the busy seasons…

That^ I floss, brush my teeth, use mouth wash, and put on my refreshing minty lip balm. Feels too clean to keep eating! (until I'm really hungry)
-
Thank you both, @SezxyStef and @retirehappy !! You ladies are so inspiring and thanks for the encouragement. I became so afraid of not having any progress every time I start something new since I've been working on my physical appearance for so long... But I'll just do it (and watch what I eat) without worrying too much…

Yes that's the one I read too & made me decided to buy that Bowflex set!! Thanks for sharing your experience & I feel more comfortable to start with dumbbells now :)
-
@fanncy0626 , @quiksylver296 , and @ar9179 ~ thanks for your advice & sharing!! Yes I do have the workout plan for SL5x5 (also have the app & am already in the group!) but decided to start with ICF first... (they're kind of similar, I think?!) And yes, seems like I really need to find my max first instead of sticking with…
-
Thank you all for posting your amazing results! I'm curious... how heavy do you ladies usually lift? I just started (as a lifting newbie) and am planning to use dumbbells for ICF at this time before I can find a good gym. I currently have a pair of 10s (feel a bit embarrassed to say these numbers out  ) and a pair…

Think about those countries where people drink tea (yes, green tea, black tea, whatever tea) regularly for hundreds and thousands of years. If this is really that magical for losing weight, there's no such term "obesity" "overweight" "weight-loss" in their countries/ languages, and the local companies selling weight-loss…

But you need muscles to get your arms firm... :o (plus you're not a guy... won't really get muscles that easy!)
-
Welcome & good luck!! You can do it :)
-
Yes both are under cardio
-
All these! I did ab-focused exercises for years but the result is not as good as just push-ups/ pull-ups.

Do what you like; like what you do. That's how I treat things that meant to last long

I LOVE water chestnuts!!! They taste so good in soup, with rice, or pan-fried with other veggies. Also good as an ingredient in desert too, like this cake from dim sum: https://www.google.com/search?q=water+chestnut+cake+dim+sum&espv=2&biw=889&bih=731&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAWoVChMI1Y-5hMD8yAIVS0cmCh21dgvg…

The third number is usually the pulse at the moment you measure it, according to most of the pressure cuffs I've used (have not idea what else it could mean though). So if you measure your blood pressure while you're in resting state (standing, sitting, lying down), that's your resting pulse. However, I found a slight…

Once I start wearing those active wears, it's really hard to turn back to my entire drawer of old, oversized shirts and sweatpants... They look much better and provide better support as well. I guess it's good that I'm just working out at home now, otherwise I can't stand myself wearing old clothes in public anymore…

Matcha is the transliteration of "finely ground powder tea" in Chinese and Japanese. Although the way it's processed is more complicated than ordinary green tea powder (and more expensive too), it's still "just green tea." What I can tell you from my personal experience is, I would never struggle with weight nor feel tired…
