  • Ditto to this! Also, it often works to first eat "my" food and tell myself I can have the pizza (or whatever) afterward. Then, with the edge off my hunger, it's a lot easier to say no to the pizza.
  • I like Wendy's chili. It's delicious, healthy and satisfying - without a bunch of calories or simple carbs.
  • You might want to try "The IF Diet" by Robert Skinner. It gives you the lowdown on three popular IF plans and should help you decide which fits you best. I've read several books on IF, and though Skinner's isn't the best written, it's the best (IMHO) for knowing all your different options. Beyond that, you can do a search…
  • I don't know about other people, but sugar cravings are VERY real to me. And yes, when I'm not drinking alcohol, I crave sugar much more - to replace the sugar in alcohol, probably. (My mother, a recovering alcoholic, says this is commonly reported in AA meetings.) My only cure for my sugar cravings is to not eat sugar, or…
  • Hey All! I'm the OP, and today I easily peeled an entire carton of FRESH, hard-boiled eggs! Here's eggsactly what I did, with no eggsasperation. (Oh, I'm so sorry - couldn't resist!) * Bring pot of water to a rolling boil * Gently add eggs, cover and boil 9 minutes * Drain and rinse with cold tap water a minute or so * Tap…
  • This! Funny, I've noticed that people in our age group really embrace the non-diet mindset. Maybe we've finally realized that it really IS about a lifestyle change. LOL!! Go figure, huh? :p
  • I agree it's much harder to climb onto the wagon than to stay on. Posting here is a great start. Do you know how you got off track? What was it that wasn't working for you? Maybe you can take a step back, analyze what's been working and not working, and then regroup to begin again. Sometimes taking the emotion out of it is…
  • Wow, everybody - thanks! I'm the original poster and popped back on my lunch hour to see if anybody had weighed in. I've now got about 20 ways to Egg Rage, lol! But I'll try them all and let you know the winner. :)
  • The most important thing is to find a system that works for you, and it looks like you have. Fantastic! I've seen WW be successful with lots of women I know. But in the end, whatever makes healthy sense for a lifetime is the best choice.
  • Watching myself age faster than I need to, just because my health is deteriorating from poor diet and lack of exercise.
  • Hi Carrie! I'm new, also, and I get how you're feeling. Willpower is worthless, because it comes and goes. Really, what's needed is a decision and commitment to make a lifestyle change. We all deserve it, but honestly, it's not easy. If it were, everyone would do it. Looking forward to seeing you on the boards. :)
