I'm proud that my healthy habits help me find the confidence to try other new things and meet new people. And when doing new things gives me anxiety, I'm learning to recognize the feeling for what it is and realize that I don't have to eat if I'm not hungry. Oh, and am proud that I've started to feel and recognize actual…

Distracted eating (whether because I'm doing something like browsing my phone, reading, or worried about something) which leads to eating past the point of fullness because I'm not checking in with my satiety levels.

Hi, I'm type 2 diabetic and have more than 100 pounds to lose. Just taking it 0.5 lb. at a time, one bite at a time. You don't have to feel hopeless. You can do this. And like @nvsmomketo said: plans! They work wonders.

You got this. Friend support is great.

I'm here for ya'. Congratulations on your superb weight loss so far!

"You got this." And if it's an especially intense workout, "Breathing will get you through this."—a trainer at my gym while he was telling us to hold a plank for three years or something.

Speaking as someone who has lost weight and gained it back AND whose goal weight for March 2016 is your current weight (for reals), what helps me is remembering that I am worth meticulous and wholesome care (i.e., caring for your whole self, mentally and physically, and spiritually, if that's how you roll) no matter where…

For me, I remind myself that I am worth caring for meticulously and wholesomely (i.e., both mentally and physically, and spiritually if that's your thing) no matter where I am in my weight/health journey. Then a deep breath ("Breathing will get you through this."—a gym trainer I had). Then the tender application of…

I want to control and hopefully eliminate my diabetes (type 2, of course). I want to take the subway stairs two at a time. I'd like to wear a straight size and shop at a place like Zara. I want to be excited to lift heavy things during my next move instead of being a ball of anxiety. I want to feel cared for every day…

Dealing with the low self-esteem and depression at the root of my issues with food and my body. Getting therapy, listening, and making small changes in how I think and behave day by day. Especially learning new ways to deal with anxiety.

This post of a list of calorie-dense foods from the Most Helpful Posts/Must Reads (Food & Nutrition) may help you. My favorite calorie-dense thing that isn't a dessert (big caveat) is avocado. I love the creaminess.

@999tigger Those are all good points about prelogging, structure, figuring out where I'm at with exercise without pressure, and taking it nice and easy—thank you! I'm definitely going for a sustainable, sane fitness and caloric plan from here on out. The sane part took a bit of a mental beating today, but I'll lean on my…

No sweat, that was just me reading into it obviously! Thanks for clarifying. :) Therapy IS crucial, I agree, and I'm very thankful for my therapist and psychiatrist both. I'm working on the anxiety/obsessive thing, and the underlying occasional low-self esteem thing plus the larger depression thing (which I take some rad…

@Kalikel I've got one and see her tomorrow. Sorry to use you guys to vent. I'll be sure to bring this up during the session. I really do appreciate the help.

Thanks for the advice and link @tomatoey , they're very informative. And I'm guilty of liking to push for nice round numbers, but I'm pretty sure I'd stop if there was pain. Luckily the knee injury was years ago and has healed up very well despite the extra weight I carry. But it's always a good reminder to not work…

Thank you @LiftAndBalance I will look at all of those!

Thanks @sofaking6, I will look at both of those! Weight lifting is exactly what I was going to do with the PT and something I've only done on my own, with free weights mostly, and never with a structured plan. I think I had a "got myself into this, got to get myself out of it on my own" mentality before, and while that…

Thanks @usmcmp , that sounds like a good idea. I had a meeting with a personal trainer this weekend and am leaning towards investing in that. I can get my butt to the gym and get to work, but I need someone smarter than me to tell me how much to do/when it's ok to stop, obviously. Thanks again.

@lithezebra I'm an illustrator and do editorial (magazine/newspapers) and am working on doing children's book illustration, which I really love. Thanks for asking!

Hi, everyone! This seemed like a positive place for my first post. I've enjoyed reading others' comments. I like my brown eyes, thick hair, artistic hands, and strong legs that get me all over NYC. I also try to give my smile a workout everyday.
