  • I'm 5'2" and it wasn't until I lost about 35-40 lbs that I started to see my clothes getting "too big" and hang off me. I too was really disappointed by that since I expected to be able to fit into smaller clothes when I lost the first 10 lbs. However, I'm amazed to find that even though my weight loss as slowed down…
  • 5'2" 58 years old -- sedentary setting 1200 calories -- rely on exercise to get more calories Lost 41 lbs since July 2015 using MFP -- got 10 more lbs. to go to reach my goal
  • Congrats to you both and good luck going forward. Jane, I look forward to doing the 10 Weeks till June challenge with you. Keep in touch!
  • Thanks @RedVelvette for putting this challenge together -- it was fun and helped keep me on a somewhat healthy track even when I blew my calorie goal out of the water for the day -- had to get those veggie and fruit servings in LOL :p Hope we cross paths again in the future. Good luck Gloria to reaching your goal.
  • I'm interested in joining if it's not too late
  • Here are a few terms I came across when I worked for British Telecom in the US:* tomato sauce in UK = ketchup in US * salad cream in UK = mayonnaise in US * mobile phone in UK = cell phone in US * rocket in UK = arugula in US
  • I lost a total of 3.8 lbs during this challenge. Glad to have been your teammate, Gloria and Jane. Good luck with continuing your success.
  • Happy Easter! Can't believe today is the last day of the challenge. Good luck to you both
  • Hi Jane -- I saw you were looking for another challenge and that the one Gloria was talking about was closed. Here's another one that is starting up that I thought you might be interested in even though it just focuses on weight loss…
  • Hi Gloria -- I think your plan is a good one. Just try to make healthy choices, don't stuff yourself, and most importantly don't stress -- just enjoy your meal out and the company. One day isn't going to derail the great progress you've made so far. And, if per chance, it does result in a weight gain don't despair -- if…
  • Failure to me is quitting and completely giving up. Winning is changing your strategy so that you can achieve success in the end. Lowering your goal so that your weight loss plan is more doable sounds like a winner to me. Good luck achieving success!
  • This. I found taking a break and eating at maintenance for a month, not really worrying about keeping my food diary or doing exercise, helped see me through the mentally rough times until I was ready to re-dedicate to losing weight again. The key is to not go overboard on the eating, just relax and enjoy yourself.
  • Good morning Team. Congrats on the 3 lb loss Gloria. You're doing great. Jane, I get the cookie dilemma -- I do well when treats are out of sight but have a hard time when they are right under my nose. Sometimes I can resist and other times I give in. But when I do give in I acknowledge that I'm choosing to eat that treat,…
  • You can't lose weight after 50
  • Hi all. Just completed my worksheet for the week. Complete laziness settled in this weekend and I hardly got any exercise in at all. Hard to believe tomorrow starts the last week of the challenge. Hope you guys are doing OK.
  • Hello everyone. Sorry to hear how sick your family is Jane. Hope they get better soon and that you can get some rest. Gloria you seem to be just buzzing along - I'm glad you found another challenge to keep you going. I need to take a 15 min. walk tonight to get my 45 min. of exercise for today.
  • Good afternoon everyone. I managed to get a 47 min walk in during lunch so 14 points. Yesterday I only managed 2 15 min walks with the dog but every little bit counts. Can't believe we are in week 7. Fingers crossed for a successful week for all of us.
  • Good job Gloria. Keep up the good work. This is a new week with double points for exercise. Let's go team and see if we can pull in a win for Week 7!
  • I weigh myself every morning when I first wake up. Seeing that the "ups" are a normal part of weight loss helps me to not freak out when the scale goes up a for a day or two. Looking back over my weight stats over the last 6 months shows that I can "gain" 1-2 lbs after a loss but then it evens out over the next couple of…
  • Good morning Gloria, Jane. It's "humpday" for our challenge week -- hope all is going well. I'm still struggling to stay on track in some categories but will persevere.
  • Congrats Gloria! Keep up the good work. I've been having many of the same thoughts Jane -- this challenge has been good in having me focus on different aspects of my diet and healthy lifestyle and sometimes forcing me to make a healthy choice when I was tempted to either not do anything (exercise) or make a not so…
  • Where did everyone go?
  • Morning all! Almost the end of the week. How did everyone do this week? I'm afraid I wasn't as successful as previous weeks but today is a new day so we'll see how it goes.
  • Good morning all. I finally have some downward movement on the scale this morning. I've been bouncing up and down within a 1 lb range over the last 2 weeks and this morning I finally hit a new low. Just need to maintain it and maintain the downward trend. Need to get my feet moving!!!
  • Good morning! How has everyone's week going so far? I ordered a Bollywood workout DVD from Amazon last night -- I thought I might try something dance oriented to see if it would make exercise more "enjoyable" LOL So far walking -- whether walking outside or doing a Leslie Sansone WATP DVD -- is my go-to exercise. For some…
  • Congratulations Green Team! Way to go Gloria!!! WoooHoooo!
  • Glad things are going well Jane. Good luck with the evening meal. :) I did get a 32 min. walk in at lunch. I plan to get another walk in with the dog when I get home. I'm some headway on the veggie, fruit, and water fronts too -- dinner will be the make or break moment for the day. Thinking I may do a salad for dinner to…
  • Congrats Gloria! I can't believe it's already March. Weather is sunny and fairly warm here today -- really feels like spring. I'm planning to take a long walk during lunchtime today unless something dire crops up at work.
  • Happy Monday! New week, new start. Good luck team.
  • Way to go Gloria! Having healthy options available helps us make healthy choices. I did my tax return yesterday and admit I indulged in some emotional eating to help me through it but at least they're done. Started today off on the right foot eating-wise -- veggie omelet with light English muffin (one veggie serving down).…
