How very long this is going to take. I realize that I didn't gain overnight. In fact, I have been higher than average weight since 5th grade when the doc put me on pills to try and make me grow (some bunk about how my skeleton was younger than I was and he wanted to speed things up? idk, it was 1984). I wasn't on the pills…

If that one day is the rock that starts the slide of your slippery slope. Several years ago I lost around 84 pounds doing a liquid diet plan. 7 shakes/replacements per day at around 100 cals/15g protein each and one "Lean & Green" meal (up to 8oz lean meat and up to 2 cups of green veggies). I'd done fantastically adhering…

I look up the menu beforehand and check the database to see if it has what I'm looking at (most of the time; Texas Roadhouse on Halloween was a spur-of-the-moment "We're not going to make the time we want at the movies, let's go have dinner at this place we've been wanting to try, then the later showing."). When we went to…

I tried it. Insurance didn't cover it so I paid $100 for one month. I didn't even finish the month. While my disaster wasn't nearly as bad as the poor woman in the furniture store, it was awful for me. The loose, orange, oily stools were bad enough, but even when not passing gas there was some leakage smeared in my…

Okay. I guesstimated about 7.25oz of dough, 1/2c of diced tomatoes, and 1 tsp canola oil for a total of 537 calories. That leaves me with 6-800 calories left so I might be able to salvage tonight after all. :) Thanks for the help!

What I'm getting at is that it wasn't something I could compare. There was NO CHEESE. Just dough and tomatoes. I was going to find a "small cheese pizza" and count that, but I can't do that here.

I wish I could afford to. An ounce or three of Glenfiddich with a splash of water relaxes me quite nicely. Alas, I must contend with only drinking occasionally.

This year Thanksgiving and my wedding anniversary fall on the same day. We're having a small (not full-blown) family dinner at my parents' house. I fully intend to eat whatever I want, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to "pack it in" like in years past. 7 months of eating mostly under 1400 calories daily has made it…

I was laughing so hard with this thread my dog thought I'd gone crazy. We've tried to mall-walk before. We did 3 laps after hours, so not very many people to go around, and were still under a mile. We said screw it and went to our boys' school track and walked in the snow!

I was pretty fit at 19. I still required medication to keep my bp under control. My sodium intake - whether it's high or low - has absolutely no effect on my bp. My weight does make it worse. The higher my weight is the more meds I need to keep it under control. But eating at maintenance and being active most of the day…

You might want to read the first post of this thread: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1161603/so-you-want-a-nice-stomach/p1 Was a very good read.

Srsly. Even my husband of 15 years (minus 15 days) asks often, "What's wrong?" "Did I do something?" OMG, no, I'm just not making an effort to have a 'pleasant look' on my face! Good grief.

Have you ever tried Leslie Sansone's walking videos? It's basically just walking in place, but it's to music and encouragement. I found those to be of great help when I couldn't go for an actual walk.

In the past I'd get sick of it pretty fast. This time I'm managing pretty well. I've been at it for 29 weeks and the only issue I'm having is I'm slightly hungrier now than I was before. I'm putting that down to it being dark by 5pm and below the freezing temp most days. I *think* my body wants to get back its insulation…

My dad actually gifted it to me. One night the charging contacts burned me and once it had healed I tried wearing it again with the contacts covered, but the material of the band gave me a rash. Thought it might be a one-off, so I cleaned it with peroxide and made sure it stayed dry. Got the rash again. It now sits on my…

I am a 41-year-old 5'0" female. My highest ever weight was 272. My starting weight for MFP in April was 261.2. I set my ultimate goal at 130 (5 pounds under my lowest-ever adult weight where I was feeling great but still 5 pounds over the top end of my healthy BMI range). When I look at the fact that I need to lose more…

One pound is 3500 calories. If you're losing 1 pound per week you're eating at a 500 calorie per day deficit (3500 / 7 = 500), so adding that 500 to 1400 gives you 1900.

I'm going to agree with weighing and logging. You really won't believe a serving size for some things. I was surprised to learn those personal-size pot pies are actually 2 servings. So are ramen packages. Half the brick is one serving. Who does that? Learn what's going to satisfy you without breaking your day. If you see…

Judging by what I have worn for years, I'm well aquainted with Jeggings. (http://www.hanes.com/justmysize/plus-size-clothing/by-style/jeans/jms-denim-pants-jp3950 - not specifically labelled as jeggings, but look the same as the ones they have marked as jeggings) They look just like jeans on me, provided I'm wearing a…

Thanks for all the input, all. I'm in the US (Alaska to be specific). I'll pop into the Old Navy here and try a few things on (one of my least favorite things to do is try on clothes) to see what fits and go from there. Not sure if we have Lane Bryant around, but will definitely look!

When I'm super stressed or worried about something I cannot do anything about, I will bury myself in a book. At least then my mind is occupied and I get to live in someone else's world for awhile.

For safety reasons, once jam/jelly/preserves have been opened, if they're not in use they're in the fridge. That may or may not be sound reasoning, but there it is. I would not eat from a jar that's always left room temp.

I started keeping track of my intake on April 19th of this year. In that time I've managed to get rid of 48.6 pounds. I still have about 88 left to get into the healthy range. Not sure what my ultimate goal will be yet, but right now I'm taking it one week at a time. I already feel SO much better than I did in April. My…

I drizzle just enough olive oil to give it a thin coat, then sprinkle on Lawry's Seasoned Salt.
