  • If changing the batteries didn't work, I'd replace the scale. Doesn't have to be a fancy or expensive one.
  • I just log it from the database. You could look up each individual thing, add up the calories, and quick-add them as one thing.
  • Consuming more calories than your body burns in a day will make you fat. Fitting carbs into your calorie goal will not.

  • I'm doing the same thing I did for Thanksgiving. I'm going to be logging everything and eating what I enjoy until I'm satisfied. I didn't manage to go over my calories on Thanksgiving (though I was hoping I would) but maybe I will on Christmas. I'll be making my Peanut Butter Fudge and it has always been easy to eat myself…
  • There's no reason to "cheat." Work what you want into your calories. And if it happens to go over? Meh. Just keep swimming. :)
  • Today makes 240 days for me. I was proud of that until I saw the other numbers in this thread! lol
  • I record my weight on MFP every Sunday regardless of the results. Up, same, or down... the number doesn't determine my worth, and varies due to lots of things. I'd rather be honest with myself.
  • The rats were framed!
  • Stop thinking of it as a diet. In order to lose and keep it off, it has to be a change in lifestyle. You can have anything you want. Just make it fit in your day and shoot for a mostly balanced diet. Go over? Log it and move on. Don't beat yourself up over it, just realize you're not perfect (pretty sure no one is) and…
  • Truer words have never been spoken. I haven't had McDonalds in months but I was craving a Crispy Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich and had room in my calories for it. Ordered one. Got home... it was a Buttermilk Crispy Chicken sandwich. GAH! Hubs is going back to exchange it. I WANT MY SAMMICH! ETA: I give up. What he brought…
  • Noticed the date of the thread after I'd responded.
  • Murder. All the food. Just started my ToM after a very odd 51-day cycle and I haven't felt this stabby or munchy in forever. It's a good thing I don't have anything to binge on in the house. And that I'm too lazy at the moment to grab a knife.
  • The two "classes" my husband and I took showed us how to use each of the machines in the areas we chose (30-minute circuit and ab circuit) and what seat/weight/etc. settings we should each use. It was useful information to have. There are no group classes. The majority of the place is cardio machines with a few weight…
  • Time helps them to fade, but they'll never be gone completely. I feel so bad for my middle child. He's 14 and he shot up so fast he has stretch marks all over his back. :( He's always been the proper weight for his height but he went from being a bit shorter than me (I'm 5ft) to being taller than everyone in our family…
  • Tonight I had few enough calories during the day that I had a good chunk left. We ran to the store and I bought a "single serve" size piece of chocolate fudge cake from Carrs (Safeway). Man, there used to be a time when I could plow right through that and not blink an eye, but tonight it took me an hour and a half to eat…
  • I agree with the above. Save some calories for the end of the night. Find some lower-calorie versions of the things you're eating early on, or fill up more with veggies so you can comfortably reduce your portion sizes, then you'll have the room to play when you feel snacky at night.
  • I like grape and berry, but I've never even seen Cranberry Lime. That sounds awesome!
  • They're calling them hover boards, but they're boards with 2 wheels (and possibly a battery? saw a video of one that caught fire and the dude said the battery shot out). They do not hover.
  • That's what I was wondering. Silly, though, that changing to daily weighing would make it suddenly ignore all the weekly weights for my "will reach by" date. I'll just keep plugging along and see what happens, and in the meantime I will enjoy seeing MFP tell me that I'll be 5 pounds lighter in 5 weeks for most of the days…

  • When it was just weekly weights, it would bounce around a bit, but would tell me my estimated time to reach goal would be between like July and Oct of 2016. Now that I've added two daily weights it's suddenly telling me it'll be Nov 27 2017 to finish. So 2 more years to lose 78 pounds when I've lost 53 already?

  • Find a gum with longer-lasting flavor. That is a whole heap of gum right there! I don't bother counting the calories when I chew gum, but even when I chewed it daily we're talking 2 or 3 pieces, tops. The pack would last me 1-2 weeks. My current pack has 3 pieces missing (gave hubs one) and I've had it for 2 weeks.
  • Really wish I'd read this when I first started back in April. At the time I was just so fed up of feeling awful that I logged my starting weight and went from there. No measurements, no pictures. *sigh* I know I'm smaller; a coat that I could barely zip 2 years ago can now be overlapped almost as much as a robe. I just…
  • I tried it and it didn't suit me. It sounds like a good thing for your lifestyle right now. I'm so very sorry for both your losses. :(
  • I feel like a failure. I got my food last so I didn't hold anyone up, but I weighed (they had the scale set out for me knowing that I would). I put everything on my plate that I wanted, in the quantities that looked good to me, and logged their weights. I ate everything on my plate. I was comfortably satisfied, but not…
  • That's not as fun to freak people out with, though.
  • Which is why I said, "If that one day is the rock that starts the slide of your slippery slope." Of course I know it's because it was a liquid diet and I hadn't yet learned how to eat properly. This was 9 years before I understood and accepted that CICO is all it takes and there is no "magic pill" to get it done. I was the…
  • A small bale of hay and an average human brain so far. Shooting for something between a newborn giraffe and an average adult woman.
  • That's funny. I like to say, "Mmmm, bloody!" and he starts looking a little green around the gills.
  • My husband orders his medium well. What an incredible waste of a beautiful steak (imo). I prefer mine med-rare. So much more tender and juicy.
