I loooooooooove eating meatless sausage patties for breakfast! I have been a vegetarian for about thirteen years, though, and I don't really remember what meat tastes like. So I don't know if meatless sausage patties would hit that craving for you? But they are worth a shot!

I run first thing in the morning, before breakfast. But I always make time for two big glasses of water before I head out, and sometimes a cup of coffee! My post run breakfast is always one egg and two egg whites scrambled with cheese, two meatless sausage patties and some cherry tomatoes. It's not as heavy or calorie…

How's your fiber intake? When I have high protein, high fiber days, it feels like someone has inflated a balloon in my belly. And my appetite is nowhere near shy

Tell your husband to make his own dinner if he doesn't like what you make ;) I'm being sassy, but seriously!, he is an adult and I assume he can feed himself!

If you got a Trader Joe's near you, the Trader Joe's brand of Greek yog is 190 cals and 18 grams of protein a serving. Also tastes great!

Here is the training plan I'm using. I consider myself a beginner runner even though I now hit about 25 miles a week. Starting out with a half-marathon is ambitious, but maybe not too ambitious... it really depends! Expect the training to be hard but listen to your body, try not to overtrain, take walking breaks when you…

Sugary drinks, like sodas, typically have no protein or fiber. Protein and fiber help stabilize blood sugar levels. I know I'm gonna catch crap for saying this, but there IS research that indicates artificial sweeteners (like high fructose corn syrup), the kind found in many sugar-sweetened drinks, have more of an effect…

If I know a food is good for me, but I don't like the taste, I keep eating it until my tastebuds change their mind. I have very specific goals for my nutrition, and unfortunately not everything tastes like chocolate cake and pizza. I usually end up liking the food in the end, or I figure out a way to prepare it that works…

For example: I worked with a lot of triathletes because of my background in swimming and spinning. My sister, who is also personal trainer, uses Pilates to train her clients. She works with a lot of older people and injured athletes. OP, if you want to lift, I'd look into a local CrossFit gym. A lot of them do personal…

I also have a personal training certification and want to add that it's important to set tangible goals that your pt can help you work toward. Wanting to do some heavy lifting is a good start.

NACHOS WITH EXTRA EVERYTHING (it's my long run day)

This is just anecdotal from me, but... the artificial sweeteners in diet soda trigger my migraines, which makes me v. suspicious. Also, my mother has been having serious issues with her esophagus over the last couple of years, and every doctor she's seen has suspected her nearly lifelong Diet Coke addiction with her health…

Gorgeous pics! Do you mind if I ask, @pumpkinpocalypse, where you got that black top?? I LOVE it! Been looking for something exactly like that for forever!

Yes! I love them. Great arm and inner thigh workout. I found a studio with classes, so I don't know about which pole to invest in. The only bad part about them is the bruises!! You get bruises on your legs from the pole. It's worth it, though.

Gorgeous! I need to tan so I can post a pic of mine...

+1 for yoga! I do two loops of a pretty standard Sun Salutation, but I add in Pigeon and Camel pose for hip/quad flexibility. I also stay in downward dog for several minutes to help my calves and hammies. And I do whichever pose this is.

I think that it's probably a good idea to be wary of running alone in secluded trails, no matter if this taser rapist sicko has moved on. Not to be alarmist, but in a country where 1 out of 4 women are sexually assaulted in their lifetimes, a little bit of caution is called for. Everybody knows that women jogging in…

Hell yeah! What's your routine like?

Commando at the gym and when I'm running! Otherwise it's wedgie city. ETA: and I only wear black, high-waisted, spandex-y workout leggings that hit below the knee. I have a zillion pairs. No wedgies with those babies. :)

One of my first posts here was about how filling I found a high-protein diet - I was going to bed most nights feeling someone had inflated a balloon in my belly! Then someone pointed out how high my daily fiber intake was, and since then I've been trying not to go over so much. It's done WONDERS for my appetite. So! I…

Oh lord I almost double my fiber requirement most days. Gonna echo what people have said about quest bars and veggies! Also, if you make protein shakes, try switching to hemp protein powder. It's got a bunch of fiber. Have some fruit with your breakfast. Try things like tempeh. Rice noodles are also delicious. There are a…

Try being patient. It takes most people more than a week to see progress. If you weigh yourself once a day, maybe change that to once a week, if the idea of not seeing progress every day spooks you. Also: counting calories is a pain at first, but it's really the best thing you can do to lose weight. You've got to have a…

It is difficult to do, but if you do it correctly, 600 calories is about how much the average person burns in a class. A person who isn't in shape, but still gives it their best effort, would probably burn MORE calories, not less. For example: when I first started doing spin class several years ago, a 60 minute class would…

Try finding a 60 minute class that you like -- those burn about 600 cals if you do them correctly.

Go to sleep between 10-11 the night before, put your alarm on the other side of the room, set THREE alarms, drink coffee immediately (I drink a cup before my run--I know this is bad--I also drink a glass of water). Think about how hot it will be later

Try setting a goal. Sign up for a 5K, decide you want to lift a certain amount of weight by a certain date, or do a set number of pushups without stopping, etc.. Deciding to run a half marathons (and signing up six months ahead of time, before I even started training) did the trick for me.
