This is what you lost! 1 pound of fat! Do not ever feel bad about losing 1 pound. 1 pound gone is 1 pound gone!

Try to measure your changes in another way beyond the scale. Measure yourself. Keep a log. Look at your fitness level and set goals in that manner. If tightening your food weighing/measuring works, you still have other ways to measure your changes. Personally, I measure once a week, set fitness and food goals, and try to…

Re-evaluate how many calories you need in a day. If you have lost weight, there is a chance that you have gotten to the point that you are eating at a surplus.

Really? Having the compassion and respect for your spouse to discuss it with them personally instead of on a public forum is rubbish logic?

Yes. It was individually wrapped. I didn't look through the whole produce section. I went to the section I knew the potatoes and squashes were, so it was the only ones I saw. It was delicious and will be something I add to our menu. Perhaps even grow them. I am still curious about the prices.

They make some veggie mayo that is similar in texture. I personally stick to my Hellman's mayo within a particular portion. Tuna and mayo with a little salt and pepper makes the PERFECT tuna sandwich. Yum!

If you wouldn't say it to him, do you really think that it is okay to say it to someone else?

I don't think it is too late for carrots. In zone 7, we have quite a while for carrot sowing.

THANK YOU! I absolutely enjoy chickpeas roasted, but normally they are savory. I am going to buy some chickpeas tomorrow at the store and make these. Yum!

Ask the butcher at your local grocery store when they mark their meats down. The grocery store I pass every morning actually marks down meat at 6 a.m. every morning. So I know when I go there at 7 a.m., I am likely to find some good meat deals to feed my family of three. Also, look for a discount warehouse store. I have…

Find another outlet. I was the same way. I had an emotional eating disorder and a binge eating disorder. It is horrible together. I do not use food as a coping mechanism anymore. I turn to music or exercise or both. Find something to replace it. And until you can do that, learn to find your triggers. What is causing you to…

I know what it is like to look in the mirror and be disgusted with what you see; however, that is something that can destroy your self image. Be happy with who you are. Acknowledge your mistakes and what got you to this point. And make a promise to yourself to deal with it now. You can do it.

Start recording your weight at weightgrapher. I use it to show the fluctuations and to view the trending weight. What I love about it is that it is a visual of my weight going down. Even when I fluctuate above what I would like it to be.

I have a lot of weight to lose. If I look at it in the long term, I get choked with uncertainty and frustration. Instead, I have to look at it each day and know I am doing what I can to lose. I have been losing between 0.26-0.28 per day for the week. That is good for me. Look at now. Look at today. That is what matters!…

The only failure in life is having never tried. Every time we fail we get to learn something about ourselves or the situation. We grow. We learn. We survive. We thrive. I have been afraid of many things. It is so very easy to build up the fear in our minds until it is so out of control that we feel paralyzed by it. And…

Wow. Congrats on achieving the goals you set for yourself and making more for the future. I found that my journey does better when I have goals.

That sounds yummy! We use to do that with butternut squash. Brown sugar and cinnamon. YUM!
-
Oh yeah...the possums. We have those around here.

What is the difference between other squashes and acorn? I enjoy butternut, pumpkin, and zucchini. I am about to try a spaghetti squash to see if I want to grow it. I like the look of the acorn, but what type of flesh does it have and how do you prepare it? I mean, I know you bake it probably, but I mean like what dishes?

That is how I decided to "reward" myself. When I was young and not as fat, I loved wearing jeans. So now that I am on the road to a different type of lifestyle, I have chosen to buy a few smaller pairs as motivation to fit into them. I fit into my first pair about a month ago. I was so excited. It was still a little tight,…

I began working on my flower/garden beds early. I burned several calories. I also spent time exploring a neighbor town with as much walking as I could - including using steps which has always been difficult (previously) with my recurring knee injuries!

I just read an article about direct composting where you dig a hole in your bed and dump your scraps. Within a week (provided you have enough earth worms in your soil), the scraps would be mostly gone. I am interested in this method. I saw you had a composter. I have been toying with that, but we have wild animals like…

You can do asparagus in containers! I read a post sometime last year, which is why I originally wanted to do it. I am renting, but I purchased 300 seeds. It won't matter if I leave some behind. I am sure you can find a large enough container to grow 3-6 plants. Considering they give about 20-30 years of product, that is a…

For the most part, I try to make larger meals and use the rest to portion out the rest of the week. If I make chicken breasts for dinner, I make a whole tray. I weigh them, mark the bag, and pop it into the fridge for easy meals. I make large portions of rice, quinoa, beans, etc. Then when I don't feel like cooking, there…

PCOS, PTSD, depression, anxiety, binge eating disorder, emotional eating disorder. I am doing the best I can. I am setting goals and trying to make myself happier. Some days are bad. Most days are good. I am glad for it because it can be so stressful when the day is bad. I find that I cannot cut everything out. I do…

Do you have access to a microwave? If you do, you could try to spend your day off making up large batches of your meals, weigh them out, and freeze them. That way you could grab one with your snacks and take it to work. This is the time for preparing if you cannot cook your food there.

Oh my! I am so looking forward to this. I planted several things last year. My mom and I tried a large garden but were overrun with spiders. She kept getting bit by poisonous spiders, so we aren't doing that again. We built two large beds that sit behind her house and grow greens, peas, and spring onions in them. They did…

You can do it. Every morning, every situation you feel lost, tell yourself that you are doing this for you. Not anyone else. You are doing it because you want to and it will make you happy. I have to tell myself when I am exercising that it is okay and I can do it. I have found when I am right with myself (even when…

Ghiradelli makes a 70% dark chocolate and salted caramel bar. BOY is it delicious. When I see them, I get them. With the salt and caramel, I cannot eat very much which is perfect. But, I absolutely love the creaminess of Dove dark chocolate.

@dcshima I actually do not eat back many of my exercise calories. I am focusing on eating my daily calories. I have 230 pounds to lose, so it is set at 2010. Now that I am eating better, I am struggling so much to eat 2010 calories. I indulge sometimes with sweets. I feel like I want to exercise, but if I am struggling to…
