I love it...been going for over 3 years now. I find it a great workout, but also one that I'll do consistently. I rarely blow off a class because I truly enjoy it. I've also made friends I would never have met otherwise. Group classes can be very social, which gives you another reason to go. At first you will feel awkward,…

I never thought anyone would call me skinny, ever... I never thought I would look forward to working out, but if I go a few days without a Zumba class I actually get cranky... I never thought I'd buy pants in a size 4.,, Great thread!

Someone put in perspective for me once: my weight is someone else's goal weight...enjoy the journey.

Just my two cents...thrift stores are a great idea, but make sure you DO treat yourself to the occasional piece at your new size. You've worked hard to lose weight & sometimes it's hard to even see the loss if you're wearing clothes that are too large. Yes it's annoying to pull something out of your closet that's now too…

When I started I did two weeks of 10 g of carbs, but no calorie counting. My doctor said just to eat as much protein and fat as I needed to feel full. This helps with the urge to binge because you can eat all you want, just no carbs. It wasn't easy, and as a PP said, watch your electrolytes. I was also asked to keep the…

I can only offer my experience... I too have PCOS & was advised to decrease carbs by my doctor. I do low carb, high fat, moderate protein. I am the same height & have gone from 164 to 129 in 7 months. So it can work. The calorie deficit comes from the fat...that's what will keep you full & make you less likely to binge.…

I also have to push myself to strength train...I know it's important, but I find it so boring. To jump start myself I downloaded a free app called 7 minute work out. You need no equipment - it's all body weight exercises. Anyone can do 7 minutes & if you do it every day you've done 49 minutes in a week! Pretty close to the…

Sugar free jello with real whipped cream. Yum!

I am also currently doing the LCHF diet - to lose weight but also due to a medical diagnosis. Down 5 lbs in 2 weeks (a lot of which is water weight I know but, hey, after months of plateauing I'll take what I can get!). I have huge sweet tooth & LOVE carbs. When the doctor explained the diet I was like heck no! But if you…

I hear you; the first week I tried carb cycling I almost cried. I was tired, hungry, cranky...they sometimes call it the "low carb 'flu" BUT I lost 9 lbs my first "cycle" (3 weeks). I'd been stuck for months so I was thrilled. I have continued to cycle 3 days/week. I try to keep my net carbs under 40 grams. I read Chris…
