  • I'm a 5'6" female and lost 30 lbs in 6 months. SW 208 CW 178...have basically been maintaining for the last two months of that because I let myself slow down with several vacations, a wedding, and the holidays...so more is possible, but ready to get focused again! I will say my attitude has changed a lot over time and I'm…
  • I've been biking for a couple months; on Monday, I did my longest ride ever...43 miles and I was able to ride another 20 Tuesday. I thought my knees would be too sore. Crushin' it!
  • I cook professionally and blamed my job: "you should never trust a skinny chef." I'm such a foodie; I didn't want to sacrifice my passion to be smaller, which I just saw as being vain. The stereotype for healthy people made me not want to associate with that group...crossfit bros (sorry crossfitters). I didn't want to be…
  • Thanks for all the positive feedback/vibes/support! You guys are awesome.
  • I was hanging out at a bar with a coworker and he made me flex so he could show his roommate my biceps, then went on about how strong I am. We joked that I should be a Swedish milkmaid for Halloween. Coworker has a little crush on me; it's nice to feel that strong is sexy.
  • I biked 20 miles and used a couple new gears!
  • I cook at a bar. I'd say one of the best things you can do besides bringing food is make friends with one of the cooks. I frequently whip up salads to share with one of our bartenders. Sometimes one of us will bring in a couple different toppings. Personally, I eat a ton of pistachios. I like that I have to take the shell…
  • Girl, you rock! Awesome post. Thanks for sharing this. I love your original motivation...boys. Always trouble. I've been the girl on the side without knowing it twice and the best revenge is improving yourself and being happy. I love knowing that I'm even better than I was when I dated those guys and those *kitten*…
  • I had been frustrated with myself for letting myself go for sometime, but was making a lot of excuses. Meanwhile, my older sister who at one point trained with Olympic level athletes got pregnant. She worked out most days and at six months pregnant, her baby bump was smaller than my everyday belly. One day, she was in…
  • Man...I wouldn't mind seeing more progress pictures. ;-) way to kick *kitten*!
  • I plan to have those really bad days. For example, last week we closed the bar where I work and had a day of team building...I.e. Excessive eating and tons of drinking. I usually track as I go, but just logged everything at the end of the day. It was two days worth of calories. I honestly wasn't that upset. A few months…
  • Hi, I started about 2.5 months ago at 208 and am down to 192. I net a little over 1500 a day and frequently average about 1000 over my net goal for the week. I set myself on moderately active (I'm probably actually active) and eat back most of my exercise calories. I did realize that using MFPs calorie count for workouts…
  • I bought a bike a couple weeks ago and have already ridden it at least 100 miles. Last night I was biking home from work and overheard a guy say "man, she's going at a clip." I'm using Strava and got 3 PRs on that ride and am seeing myself rise in the ranks on segments. I feel like I'm just figuring out biking; I've never…
  • I'm a cook and made the best cinnamon rolls ever, then ate only a tiny scrap...not even one cinnamon roll...in fact I was kind of disgusted by all the butter and wonder if it's immoral to feed them to other people.
  • @omnipotentmiku yes, that was directed at you...sorry for the slow reply.
  • I put on the gym shorts and sports bra I used to wear when I used to run and they're not uncomfortably tight...I might actually go for a short run and I never think "hey that sounds fun." I've been taking the dog for walks, but she gets worn out before I do, so I guess it's time to challenge myself a little more.
  • Great job! I love checking in at 100 days. I'm about 35 days in and making it to 100 seems like a good and reasonable goal! Thanks for the inspiration.
  • Wow. Looks like you're kicking *kitten*. Love your style too.
  • Nuts. I love pistachios!
  • I like my smoothies really thick, so I portion fruit and freeze it in bags. I had a bunch of cherries that were a bit too ripe, so I prepped those today with mango, apple, and peach. When I blend them I might add carrot. Today I used that fruit mix and coconut La Croix sparkling water. I loved the coconut flavor (the…
  • Woohoo! Great job. I'm just three weeks in with similar starting stats, so thanks for sharing!
  • I generally go with the raw amount, even though it's cooked. Caloriclly it shouldn't change much. I tend not to even bother measuring spinach or arugula since they're pretty negligible: I.e. Super low calorie and awesome for you.
  • Thanks for sharing this. I really enjoyed it, especially the third section. During college, I lost over sixty pounds, then put most of it back on when I started drinking, then became a chef and tasting things all day and a general love of food hasn't helped, but I can say that even though I weigh a little over 200 lbs…
