When I first began working out it took me a few months before the effort really started paying off on the scale, likely due to muscle growth. I did notice loss in belt size rather quickly, however. Also, are you sure that you are maintaining a strict caloric deficit?

If you knocked cancer down for the count, some extra weight will be nothing for ya ;-). definitely start by focusing on creating a caloric deficit in the kitchen and then second on exercising -- if you've been out for awhile, start slow!

Good on you for taking this first step! It certainly is tough going at first but you can do it! I would suggest focusing first on maintaining a caloric deficit, second on your macronutrient ratio, and third on your exercise -- start slow, the soreness can be very discouraging if you hit it to hard to quickly!
