Well, I would have been fine except we went to the movies and there was that popcorn...with butter. Back on track tomorrow!

Thanks for the support!

Thanks for putting it in perspective! I appreciate your honesty. You are making me want carrot cake now (smile).

Thanks tryin2die2self....I know the NSVs are better. Clothes fit (and look better). Part of the reason for doing this was that I have a heart stent and wanted to drop some to help the heart not work so hard. To be honest, I do not bring out the tape measure even though I know I've lost some. Only problem with losing fat is…

I am beginning to think it will also take me that long. But, that is okay....this is for nobody but me and I'm not doing anything else anyway! Thanks for your post. It means a lot.

Yes, this info helps very much! Thank you very much! (How'd I do?)

I've had two separate thyroid operations for nodules (non cancerous). I have been on MVP for almost 3 months and have lost 17 pounds. Too slow for me, but even though my medication is at a good level for me, I find that my metabolism is slower. Could be also because I am older now (67) and that has to be factored in, too.…

Welcome, aliguy593!!! We're so glad to have you decided to join us. I've been using MFP since July and I'm down 17 pounds now. I have found this site extremely helpful in getting a grip on what I was eating. I can honestly say I had no idea how much I was stuffing in my face till this app. Ounces, grams, and portions count…

Thank you so much for all the suggestions. I am adding flax to a lot of dishes now. I'll add more berries, too! The Ezeikel bread is a great idea. I already have some in the freezer that I forgot I had. Thanks all!

Catscats22: Are you psychic? This is crazy. Yes, I am over 60. Yes, I have trouble getting enough protein. Yes, I have even had surgery for diverticulosis, and YES, I don't get quite enough fiber.

Orphia and Therealobi1-- my friend weighed a lot more than me so maybe that's it. Kalikel: You're so right. Only I can lose MY weight. Still trying to celebrate my loss! If someone will tell me how to reply individually to these posts, I can do that. I'm not used to doing them so I'm not sure what "flag and quote" mean at…

To those who asked, yes, I use a food scale and measuring cups/spoons, so I know the logging is accurate. If I am ever in doubt, I always err on the side of a few more calories rather than less. Thanks for the flow chart. Since I am 67 my metabolism is probably a lot slower now (grrrr), so that's probably factoring in.…

Wow....everyone...thanks so much for all these great suggestions! I will consider every one of them!

I have this as well. My foot doctor told me that I have to wear shoes that have a small heel. It does seem to help a lot. Also, be sure you do stretches when you get out of bed first thing to loosen up the back of your leg and your heel tendons. I have to do this routinely and when I do, it's a lot better than when I…

Wow....I think you are working out more than you need to. 5 days a week is a lot. Where is your day to rest your muscles? Sometimes we think more is better but maybe not. Plus now you've added weight training. Strength training is the best for women, I think. Even if you didn't lose another pound you already are at a great…

I had a setback myself yesterday. Binged out at the movies then came home and made chocolate chip cookies. Feel bad about that, but that was yesterday. We're only human. Yesterday is gone. Today is all we have. I'm sure you will do great today! Just one day at a time -- okay? Just one day....

I wish I could get more motivated to exercise more. Help!

Hello and welcome! I get so excited when I see other people like myself. I haven't been on MFP but a month but I can tell you logging that food in is addicting. I can't wait to post my meals and learn how to rearrange my calories so I can have a bit of everything I like.

Wonderful for you that you are so close to your goal weight. That is AMAZING. Using the food diary is a wonderful tool. It really helps know about food and calories and servings. You're almost there!

Hi Gina! I was just like you -- had no idea how much of everything I was eating. Now I know what a 1/2 cup looks like and 1 oz. too. I cook, so it shouldn't have been a big deal, but I think it was the between meal snacking that caught up with me. I found a tool that is wonderful for making sure I stay honest. I have a…

You are sizzling HOT! It looks like the body of a 20-year-old. Amazing job. All that hard work really paid off!
