Pcos, hypothyroidism, etc here.

First, I just want to say that you are not wrong in the way you feel. What he said is hurtful. As someone who has PCOS (and hypothyroid, insulin resistance, etc) I know it’s a pain in the *kitten*. It makes the journey harder. We all know getting started and keeping with it is already hard enough. I just want to reassure…

I have PCOS. Started at 230- got to 156 by doing gluten free (low carbs come with the lifestyle- unless you sub for processed GF Foods). Cut out "bad" stuff. Tried to eat veggies with every meal, etc. I actually got pregnant at 156, but now I'm restarting at 189- current weight 182. You can most definitely lose weight with…

Thank you @astroamy. It's been rough and we are just starting the journey of healing. I appreciate the kind words and support so much.

Lookin good!

Literally just happened to me. "This may sound blunt, but I'm sorry you were fat"..... uhhhhh, thanks I guess? Lol what is wrong with people?!
-
One of the main reasons I began this journey was to help with symptoms of PCOS. 52lbs down from my highest weight (230), I got my first natural period in five years. Couldn't be happier.
-
lol I'm here as well! Participating in the background and manually logging weight :D Hope everyone is doing well!
-
Kate, I was diagnosed 12 years ago and I can tell you that though it is sad and life changing the best thing you can do for yourself is get it under control now. Better late than never. I'm glad they were able to tell you what was going on. Best of luck

Thanks! This is really helpful

I have not seen any of the negativity from other members regarding thyroid issues and I really hope I don't encounter it. All I know is that if anyone legitimately feels that way they aren't educated on how the thyroid gland works. With that said! I am glad you are feeling better. That's a pretty big accomplishment going…

You got this! I'm sure the weight lost and change in eating habits would help tremendously

This is awesome to hear. Seriously, you are an inspiration. I'm 24 and noticed hair thinning at 23 along with all of PCOS symptoms prior to that (diagnosed at 12). I've been terrified of losing all of my hair since I've noticed and I'm hoping that losing this weight and getting into shape will help with regrowth.…

I'm insulin resistant also! I used to be on met years ago but my primary doctor had taken me off it it. I'm hoping the endo will look over everything this upcoming month and see about getting back on it. What kind of changes did you see between being on metformin vs being off? What would you eat carbs with to fight against…
