I could not survive without coffee. Not so much for the perk but its part of my arsenal of tricks for quelling hunger pangs (snacking urges).

I've been working a couple scales since starting of the challenge- a brand new digital Fitbit Aria at home and a medical scales in the gym- slight variance in readings but think I may be on the right track now. This journey started for me July 17th at 176.5 lbs, around 174/175 lbs starting the August challenge and…

Think this weigh in is going to a bit off as I was using one set of scales before buying my own and there is a slight differential. I'm off to the gym to use their medical scales, will try mine and get the average! Well done all, week one is done and dusted.

That's not bad at all for eating out, and sushi generally is quality nutrient. You didn't blow the calories on a huge bag of crisps/chips, for example. As I've done often enough!

I'm planning to investigate some protein powder recipes over the weekend- I spotted a few interesting options on epicureanbb.com, including a number of sweet treats but I'm after pancakes! Usually I've more of a savoury taste bud so my weekend may involve my homemade tortilla-wrap-as-a-crust pizza with extra spicy chorizo.…

I'm doing my best not to snack at night and would be succeeding for the most part. I've dinner between 530 and 630pm and when I find that I get the impulse to snack later on, I try to analyse it to see where the impulse is coming from, to determine if I'm really hungry or if its something else. Was it a light dinner low on…

Love this. Took two weeks for me to see anything happen. It seems to be happening now. Also love that this is the hard part and one day, this lifestyle will have become habit and easy to maintain.

Its taking me about 2 weeks to lose a kg too danielaica. I started the 5:2 mid-July and with the two lean 500 cal days and 1200 cal remaining days per week, I was secretly hoping to lose a little more. I figure its up to me to shock my metabolism- I've adjusted my twice weekly gym routine to interval training instead plus…

I find weekends tough too. In the past (and can't promise I won't again), I would have been face first into a delivery pepperoni pizza and a bottle of wine. Rather than denying myself and then obsessing over what I can't have (setting myself up for a fail), I try to figure out healthier alternatives. Instead of a frozen or…

I got off to a good start myself yesterday- great gym session with some pretty intense interval training and I managed to keep food calories under control for the day. However, a planned night out with friends ended up a little boozier than I had intended (two glasses of Prosecco, two G &T's and a pint of Guinness). On the…

Oh no, just signed myself up to a weight loss challenge that happens to start on the Irish long weekend, hahaha! Well, gym is done for today and I'll take it easy when I'm out with friends tonight. Good luck everyone, we can do it :)

I think a lot of that depends on how much you've got to lose- carrying a lot of weight, its fine to lose more than someone who's not carrying as much. Personally, I'm aiming for a 1 to 1.5lbs per week. I figure it took 20 years to put the extra thirty or so pounds on, its not going to be gone overnight, at least, not…

A Nutribullet blast with spinach, pineapple, berries, water and a half scoop of Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein at 6am does me. Started those a few months back and I find that it and a cup of coffee mean I can go until lunch time without thinking too seriously about snacking. Before the Nutribullet, I would have skipped…

Hey all, currently 175lbs, overall goal is 135-140lbs (9.5 - 10 stone). I'd be happy if I were to log food and exercise everyday, shift 5lbs and get back to running 5k regularly by the end of August (current ankle injury permitting!).

Hi, Tara from Ireland. 39 years old and close to 3 stone to lose. Fairly active with daily walking and weekend running (now interval training, rather than plain old jogging), I eat okay but have trouble with portions. For years I haven't been losing or gaining weight but recently I feel I was slowly starting to gain and on…
