  • 37 Days and all is well. I was a little concerned for you all yesterday, this thread was pretty bare. Hoping the Holiday weekend didn't overtake your god intentions and hard work. Congrats to all who are succeeding and good wishes to all who continue to put forth the effort :)
  • Here I am, Day 36 and alcohol free. Yesterday was a struggle, don't know why, just wanted to slip back into the old routine and have some wine on the porch and with a good movie (now finding one of those is a challenge). My hubby was the strong one, thank God, he said "no way we've worked this hard to blow it in one night,…
  • So glad you found us! To make it easier to find, click on the star at the top right of this thread, it will bookmark the page. Whenever you go into "Community" you will see the star, click it and you will find posts that will bring you here. Today is Day 35 for me! Still alcohol free and loving being in control. I wake up…
  • It's very true. That's a method used in child psychology to promote good behavior. I surely wouldn't want to see the red X. I do something similar, no missed days yet!!!
  • Being part of a group is helpful. It's good to feel that you're not alone in this battle. Today is Day 34 alcohol free for me. Each and every day I have logged on here to show my commitment and reading the posts really gives me the support I need to know I'm doing the right thing. Sparkling Water seems to be the drink of…
  • No calories in Sparkling Water, just bubbles and flavor :)
  • I did it one day at a time, really, that's all you can do. I make sure I have a bottle of Sparkling Water for the evening (Poland Springs Black Cherry by choice) and sip it as I would my wine. The first couple weeks are the hardest, cravings are always present in the evening, old habits are hard to break. After the 3rd…
  • Day 33 and no alcohol. I feel great, no more cravings. I finally feel like I'm in control, it's my decision and I choose to pay more attention to the needs of my body and not the wants. Today my body needs good healthy foods and moderate exercise, I can do that for it. What it doesn't need is for me to willingly poison my…
  • Great support here! We CAN do this people. Today marks Day 32 for me :)
  • Sorry, can't help, I'm looking for the same help. Will keep checking here to see if you get a reply. I'll let you know if I find one.
  • Wow, impressive! Why did you stop, if you don't mind my asking? And how long was your battle before you felt in control?
  • @Brooke1076 Thank you for continuing the thread. Hi Everybody! A month a go I wouldn't have thought it was possible but it was, I went the entire month of August without a drop of alcohol. Saved myself a ton of money in the process. I want to keep this going, at least until I know I can control my consumption. That time is…
  • I MADE IT!!! 30 Days with NO Alcohol :) Moving over to the thread Sober September to keep this streak going. Come on, join us.
  • August is over today, hop on over to the Sober September thread to stick with us :)
  • My only problem with too much Sparkling Water is that it affects my sleep. LO L :-)
  • Well, today is the last day of my Whole30 journey and I lost 12 pounds in 30 days. I've gone 30 days with no alcohol and I'm feeling great. I'm ready to start another 30 day journey :) September here I come!
  • I know, seriously, I haven't gone over goal once this month! Day 29 :)
  • @fiddletime Good for you! I must admit that if I saw wine in my fridge, the temptation would be to great. I would have given up on the cookies for the wine. In fact, I use to have a saying, "walk for the wine", it got my exercise in everyday but then I drank the calories I burned every night. Again I say, Good for you! :)
  • AF 28 days. I think this is the longest ever for me. I plan on keeping this going. . .
  • My Grandfather was a fiddler. He's been gone for quite sometime now but I remember fondly ever precious moment I heard him play. :)
  • 26 Days NA and also sipping my drink of choice, Sparkling Black Cherry water :)
  • My husband was my partner in crime but he is doing this NAA thing with me. I do have a sister though who is a severe alcoholic. Her husband drinks and says he doesn't believe in alcoholism. His motto is "just don't do it if you don't want to", while he drinks from breakfast till bedtime but never appears drunk, just a…
  • @fiddletime I agree, it is easier at this point to just say no, and perhaps I'll do just that when that snowy night comes around but if I cave, I'll be on guard for the first sign of when is it to soon to have my next and I will decide then to cut it off completely. Then again, maybe I'll just warm up some cider and avoid…
  • @fiddletime Smart of you to recognize that. I'm the same way. Maybe one day I will be able to handle alcohol moderately but for now I'm off the stuff. 24 Days alcohol free for me and to be honest, I'm perfectly happy without it. Sure, there are times when it pops into my head and I think I'd like to enjoy a glass of wine…
  • Yogurt is a healthy food, and good for you in many ways. I like to add honey to taste and either frozen fruit or some of my favorite preserves. I jarred some raspberry and apricot jams, they're both delicious on Greek yogurt.
  • Good going tmbg :) Do you have a favorite water? I'm finding that drinking Poland Springs Black Cherry sparkling water really takes the edge off, especially in the evening while watching the TV. I'm on day 23 today and I can honestly say I have no cravings. How's that for overcoming a 35 year habit?
  • Day 22 here :) A little scary seeing no posts here today :o I hope everyone was able to follow through with their commitment this weekend. If not though, tomorrows another day and a new beginning.
  • tmbg I like it, "Sober September", and there we have it. Just have 10 days left of this month and I know we can do it. Had a little craving around dinner time last night. Could have easily talked myself into it but instead reminded myself of how far I've come and that I committed to 30 days. I WILL keep that commitment!
  • I'm on Day 20 of my Whole30 journey. Things are going well. Totally wiped out the first 10 or so but I have recovered and feeling great now. Must be experiencing some of that Tiger blood because today I painted the living room AND dining room :) I know your not suppose to weigh yourself but whose looking anyway? I lost 10…
  • Day 20 and still alcohol free!!! I think about it often, debating whether or not I could just have a glass but I know that's not realistic. Then I think about why I wanted to stop in the first place, don't like the way I feel when I wake, don't like the weight gain, don't the the possible adverse affect on my health and I…
