I definitely need to pay attention to stretching properly. Thank you for the link! Also, I'm going to keep the 5 minutes it takes me to walk to the park as an additional warm-up, and only start the app once I get there.

I haven't done the 2nd one yet... Lack of time (big work project due tomorrow afternoon, I can't wait for it to be over!), but also my legs were so sore until yesterday, I couldn't have gone even if I'd wanted to. It's much better today, I don't wince every time I go down the stairs, so if I focus on work and get it 90%…

One thing I have to say, I wasn't expecting the thigh soreness to be this bad. Oh dear, my poor thighs... :s I guess it's a good thing my schedule is going to be packed full over the next few days, because I need the soreness to go away before I do it again!

Yes, this! For me, that's a huge part of the whole "eating less" thing. My first week, I told myself I was planning ahead, but I'd often log my food after eating it, and guess what? A lot of the time the calories were higher than I expected! Plan ahead, log in advance. And don't beat yourself up when unexpected stuff…

I usually eat around 300 calories for breakfast too (cereal + milk, or porridge), but today I went out and must have eaten around 900 :D But I was really a brunch, so there won't be any lunch and I'll have soup for dinner.

Hi! I'm originally from France but living in North West London. You should join the Team UK group :) http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/150-team-uk

I tend to smile a lot in general, so I'll try extra hard. I came across a few people while doing the workout yesterday, and while I kind of ignored the group of retired dog-walkers who took up the entire path, I smiled at another jogger and a dad teaching his little girl how to ride a bike. I smile at crows and magpies too…

Again, thank you so much to every person who posted a comment, shared their story and encouraged me. I did the first workout this morning. I didn't collapse, I didn't cheat, and best of all, I didn't completely hate it! I think there's hope, and you've all played a big part in getting this started.

Again, thank you so much everyone for all these fantastic replies! Of course, now that I'm trying to commit to this, my workload has suddenly increased to a crazy level (I'm self-employed, so no "regular hours" for me; I work until my work is done), but I might still try tomorrow morning. No school kids on Saturday, maybe…

Thank you so much for all these great replies; exactly what I was hoping for! I need to think of the best time to attempt this. I'll be going to a nearby park and I was thinking of doing it in the morning, but if it's too early the kids will be on their way to school and I want to avoid that. Maybe after I have a small…

Just joined this group and wanted to say hi :) Originally from France but living in North West London.

I've found that talking back and occasionally shouting how much I hate her and her workout (only not really) actually helps get through it :D
-
Just like other people have suggested, unless you mind having to get up to pee, drink water and/or tea. Brushing your teeth early can also help.

Hahaha, I don't think I've heard of a single one of those bands :D I think if I were walking by myself I'd listen to music again, but on the elliptical trainer it didn't work because I ended up trying to match the pace of the song, going faster than I intended and then my heart would start racing...

Hi! You're supposed to do it every day, but I never could. Be warned that you will be very sore afterwards. I'm not saying this to scare you, I promise, it's just a fact. You'll be sore in places you didn't think you could be sore :D It was especially true for the upper body, for me. I think starting out with 3-4 workouts…

Daily as well, in the morning, before breakfast.

I share all my meals with my lean OH (unless I want to eat something he doesn't like, then I cook 2 different meals, but it's very rare) and simply give him bigger portions/supplement my smaller ones with salad. That's the only real trick. He has a very high metabolism and eats treats every day otherwise he loses weight.…

Oh thank you, I'll have to check that formula!
-
That's a good idea. I'll give it a go, thanks!
-
Works for me! Hopefully, being accountable to you guys will be all the motivation I need week after week.
-
So what's the punishment if we don't make it...? :p
-
Oh, sounds just like what I need!
-
I'm definitely doing that. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, I'll see tomorrow if it makes a difference. And if not I'll open a case. Thanks!
-
I can't say I've ever seen it. But then again, I only started thinking about non-dairy alternatives recently.

Oh DUH, I knew I was forgetting something. SOYA MILK, I should have tried that first! I don't know why I've been focused on almond milk. Thanks everyone!
-
Oh I'm not obese, I'm really doing my best to log everything super accurately, and I don't eat my exercise calories back. I can tell I'm eating less than I used to but I'm definitely not starving ;)
-
Thank you for all your great messages. Like I said, I'm going to keep going and hopefully the expected results will show up eventually ;)
-
Looks like you're in the right frame of mind for this. You can do it!!

Hello Kym, and welcome... back! ;) I decided to start over myself just a couple of days ago, let's do this!!
